Ed001, what are the plans for Willian and Pedro?

I read somewhere that Willian will be offered a new contract soon.

{Ed001's Note - from what I have heard, Sarri would like to keep both.}

So that means we might keep them till the end of our transfer ban, right Ed?

Unless some promising youngster comes from the academy who can replace them, of course.

{Ed001's Note - I would expect so, unless either wants to leave.}

Are we getting a transfer ban? Not sure we actually will.

Saying Barcelona have renewed their interest in him with malcolm perhaps coming the other way ed001 I’ve not seen anything of Malcolm would he be a good fit for us mate?

{Ed001's Note - depends really on which Malcom you get. The one from French football would be an excellent fit. The one Barca have ended up with has struggled. That might be down to the way he is being managed though, as, despite them being top, they are not being managed well as a team.

I think Malcom has the potential to go on and be an outstanding player in the Premier League, possibly even Hazard level, on the right side. The big worry is whether he comes in to supplement Hazard or replace him.}

Brilliant thankyou so much for the in-depth reply mate.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate. Very exciting player Malcom, or at least he was prior to joining Barca. That move has been a disaster for him. You do have to wonder at the advice these youngsters are getting, as it was clearly not the right move for him at that time.}

I am curious though, Ed001. Why would Barcelona offer Malcom plus cash for a 30 year old Willian whose contract runs out in 2020?
Doesn't this seem odd to you?

{Ed001's Note - seems unlikely too. I know that player swaps are becoming more common due to the high cost of transfers, but it seems more likely there would be money going the other way if anything. Though Malcom is nowhere near a regular in the first team, with Dembele ahead of him as a back up even. He has only managed a total of less than 100 minutes in the league this season, so they do need to acknowledge it was a mistake to buy him and get rid.}

is this a deal thay could happen edd. would the chelsea board not be beaming ear ear being offered a 21 year old talent for a 30 year whos had a rubbish season and really offers us very little other than work rate.

{Ed001's Note - Sarri likes Willian and the board appreciate him, but the contract might mean they see it as a good idea. It is one of those that looks on paper a good move for all concerned but I don't see it happening. A lot would depend on Malcom wanting to join for a reasonable wage.}

would he be on big money at Barcelona even do he's a squad player? interesting 1 to keep an eye on over next few days. are the board likely to be tempted if Barcelona just come back with a cash bid? im sure Barcelona are watching the ffp also they spent a lot last 2 windows.
