CHELSEA CLOSE TO BAKAYOKO DEAL

Sky sources understand Chelsea are close to signing Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Bakayoko will have a medical in the next few days and if all goes well he may travel with the rest of Chelsea squad to China and Singapore next Monday.

Bakayoko’s scheduled medical has been delayed until this week because he had minor knee surgery at the end of last season. Negotiations are continuing about the value of the deal and the transfer fee is likely to be between £35m and £40m.

Bakayoko, 22, helped Monaco win the French title last season for the first time in 17 years. His arrival is likely to pave the way for Nemanja Matic to leave. Manchester United want Matic but Chelsea are expected to be reluctant to sell him to United after what happened with Romelu Lukaku.

Is there is gentleman aggreement between United and Chelsea, that if United allow Chelsea to sign Lukaku then Chelsea allow United to get Matic and United breached it?

Chelsea's Failure to sign Lukaku is not United fault I believe.

I would prefer Chelsea bought Bakayoko and still keep Matic OR sell Matic abroad (to Intermilan if their interest is genuine) and replaced him with Brozovic or Chalobah/ Lewis Baker.

There's no gentlemen agreement when Mourinho is involved. Chelsea will not sell Matic to Man. Utd or Inter or Juventus. He doesn't want to leave the club so everything that you read are speculations made by people who are bored and they have to write something for their newspapers.

Matic has 2 more years contract with Chelsea and negotiations over his contract extension started in April. Does Chelsea need 1 more CM-yes, 2 CMs left the Club Mikel and Oscar.

Chelsea didn't have a Wayne Rooney to offer and didn't want to pay that fat gent his demanded fees. Knowing that all up the cost of Uniteds Lukaku capture went north of 100 million all considered, im happy with missing out on him.
