Ramires + Torres for Cavani?

Am praying this happens. Would kill two stones on one punch. Get rid of two of our worst players (along with Moses and Oscar) and get one of the best players in the world. Would jump of joy.

2.) 30 May 2013
Why would we want to get rid of Rami? He had a great season again and is hard as nails! I also think that Nando should stay, he is a great player who finally looks to be hitting form and offers so much else to the team. If he played with Cavani, they would get so many goals between them!

3.) 30 May 2013
I would do it if it were possible.

4.) 30 May 2013
Are you serious?

5.) 30 May 2013
Car can't run without an engine, Chelsea won't run without Rambo = you don't know anything

6.) 30 May 2013
I love how the original poster says Oscar is one of our worst players.

7.) 30 May 2013
More like £25m + Torres

8.) 30 May 2013
If this was an option I would definitely take it. Obviously Cavani is a supreme striker and is much better than Torres.

Ramires has extremely poor technique, his touch is haphazard to say the least, his positioning at times is shocking, and he's ineffective as a holding midfielder and a winger. Although he has a fantastic engine and gives 100%, and I do love his no-holds barred tackling, I feel that he doesn't have a starting spot nailed down and is fairly replaceable, and if the offer was there, I would take it.

9.) 30 May 2013
If Chelsea need an engine so much and not a passer, a deep lying playmaker, then I suggest we sell Ramires, get some money and buy 2, 3 Etiopian marathon runners. Then we'll have plenty of engine, God, how fun will that be to watch, won't be?!

Jeez, some people are really (UN)intelligent.

10.) 30 May 2013
Can't believe people not rating Ramires. He is our engine and he has flair. Wait until Jose gets hold of him. And don't forget his goal against Barca.

31 May 2013 01:05:43
Yes,. why we need Ramires, Oscar Moses, Torres, Hazard, Cech, Mata and. Yes, Why not. only Cavani can replace whole team. Bravo for so different and efficient way of understanding of Football. What a shame.

12.) 31 May 2013
We would be mad to get rid of Twinkletoes (Ramires), he is a great player and asset to the club. Ok granted that he sometimes wastes possession and carries that ball too much when the better passing option is on but he is quick, runs at defenders and never gives up. Nobody wants Cavani more at Chelsea than me and that is a fact, I was fuming that we didn't get him last summer when we had the chance and what a different season the last would have been if he had come. i'm through with reading the media drivel, let's see what happens in the next few days when Jose is expected to finally rejoin us. i'm just praying all this rubbish talk of Luiz not wanted by Jose is simply just a load of tosh. We need to be getting rid of the deadweight players not the best we have. Scott M.

13.) 31 May 2013
3 posts up you should have signed that, gave me a good chuckle.
As for the question, much prefer £25 million, Torres and a loan for a youth player (Christensen or Kalas perhaps?) for Cavani.

14.) 31 May 2013
With hazard, Ramires is our most effective squad member playing on the counter attack. He has a good work rate in midfield and when he scores, he seems to do so when it matters. I have come to the conclusion that the majority of people posting on this site now must be 12 year olds. Opinion seems to be that only Hazard, Luiz and Mata are good players. All the rest should be sold to make way for Ronaldo, Lahm, Iniesta, Hummels, Modric (but only as back up!) etc. Oscar is a 21 year old Brazilian playing his first season abroad, and on his performances (which have been good) this year you think he one of the worst players at the club! Please! How many games will De Bruyne, Lukaku and Schurrle get before everyone decides they are not good enough? Pathetic.

15.) 31 May 2013
Even if I was 12 years old, I would still have played more football than you obviously who hasn't kicked a ball in his life.

16.) 31 May 2013
Well said Blue25 I was going to say the same, we need Ramires' and the Moses to with titles there called squad players for a reason.

17.) 31 May 2013
OScar one of our worst players? So many people that don't know the game at all.

18.) 31 May 2013
The only title we're going to win with players like that is Europa league. Even to get out of CL stages will be a problem. Wait. or even GETTING into the CL will be a problem. First you moan how you hate Europa League and then you defend the worst players.

A grave mistake was made with Oscar. The money we spent on him should have been spent on Isco last summer. Really really a heartbreaking mistake which will cost us big time when he moves to City. Just wait and see. Oscar won't get ANY better. At least for how long as Mata is here because he will play everywhere else rather than the no. 10. Can't play on the wing, isn't a deep lying playmaker. MISTAKE.

31 May 2013 13:14:24
If a runner in midfield is all we need, we should just get Usain Bolt or those Kenyan athletes! Yes, he scores the occasional goal but Ramires is not good enough for Chelsea. Poor pass completion rate, poor in possession, can't dribble, doesn't win headers, average at the tackle, can't cross the ball to save his life, doesn't offer defensive cover, poor vision with the touch of an elephant; he's got poor technique generally. All about him is run aimlessly.
GET RID of him asap!

20.) 31 May 2013
It won't happen! Torres&Ramires will both stay. If Cavani joins it will pure financial deal. Money for player. The main problem about Cavani is that he is Real Madrid target&rumours are that Suarez his partner from national team is set to join Real. Money it self is not an issue here.

21.) 31 May 2013
The problem with Ramires is that he doesn't fit naturally into a 4-2-3-1 formation as he's neither a DM nor an AM. Where he is at his best is on the right of a 3 man MF in a 4-3-3.

He's an Essien type player and we all know how good he was under Jose in a midfield 3. The problem is that Jose played a 4-2-3-1 at Real and as it's the en vogue system nowadays, I assume that he will play it again if he returns.

If he returns and uses a 4-3-3, you'd have to ask how Mata, Hazard, Schurrle and Moses would fit into that and who else would accompany Ramires in CM. I guess Frank will play a lot, but we'd need at least one more. Romeu perhaps.

22.) 31 May 2013
Everyone on here slating Oscar, show some respect. The guy is 21, just came from Brazil and hasn't stopped playing games for over a year now. Because he was mainly deployed on the wing we haven't seen the best of him. If we return to a 433 then surely we'll see him play some fantastic football. The guy is a special talent. So don't go saying he was a waste of money cause he will be future star

23.) 31 May 2013
In my opinion a 433 would suit a lot more players than the 4231. I think the 4231 benefits mata and that's it. I think the 433 would benefit Oscar because it allows him to drop deeper without having to be a holding player, it benefits ramires because he will have another 2 players in the midfield to transition the ball rather than one, and I also think it will help the striker with the wingers pulling the defenders off of him.

Tk

24.) 31 May 2013
We will NOT play 4-3-3 because we have Mata because he can only play in no. 10.

Ooh look, and we bought another one who can only play in no. 10 for 30 mill. and now we don't know what to do with him.

Great job.

Quite a few people seem to contradict themselves here. First they talk about Oscar and a 4-3-3 as Mata wouldn't even be here. lol

Just proves my point I'm right.

25.) 31 May 2013
Basically you all proved my point. We WILL not see the best of Oscar as we will never play 4-3-3 and/or because we have Mata. Now if we sell Mata for 50-65 million, buy a world class winger or 2 and still make some money, then we're talking. Would be an astound piece of business.

My philosophy. It's better to have a true winger who can fill in at the no. 10 if needed than a classic no. 10 who can only play in the no. 10 and poorly on the wing.

Wingers can play as no. 10 with no problem. No. 10s cannot play on the wing. You get my point? Ribery would have no trouble playing in the no. 10 every one a 10 games if needed. But if you played Kroos on the wing, then you'd look at 100% drop in the quality of wing play. And that's exactly what's going on here with Chelsea and Oscar.

26.) 31 May 2013
Haha, you have to be kidding. Just because a player isn't versatile doesn't mean we need to give them up, especially if it is mata. And may I remind you that both mata and Oscar had some great games at the right mid spot?

27.) 31 May 2013
Mata can definitely play as a winger

28.) 31 May 2013
Personally I don't think Oscar is great on the wings. He's played alright however he isn't as successful there as we need for a winger. We could play Mata on the wing however displacing Mata to play Oscar in the number 10 role isn't ideal. Personally I'd just have Oscar as an understudy for Mata and perhaps utility for winger/cm.

29.) 31 May 2013
Don't forget people when Oscar was bought they did intend on loaning him out if I recall

30.) 31 May 2013
Mata used to play on the left for Valencia?!

Luke

31.) 31 May 2013
Also Oscar is brazils no 10, so he can't be that bad.
He has also not had a break from playing for 2 years!

Luke

32.) 31 May 2013
Can't believe how u guys let this non Chelsea fan person no-name poster rant his dribble about one of our best players Oscar. Bulls**t about wing play when our midfield trio all rotate and hardly stay in the same position the entire match. Look at our success and better possession this season with it. Without a striker we finished only behind Man United in scoring. A half decent striker and better play from our back 4 and defensive mids and were not having this conversation. There are at least 8 players on this squad I can easily think of who are not good enough for Chelsea and Oscar is not one of them so how could he be a mistake signing. Where is the evidence? What matches that we lost, when he started, would we have won if in his place was a true winger and specifically who should that winger have been. All the EPL teams with their true wingers, what were their end of season records, how did they fare against is when Oscar played right mid and where are their trophies? Crawl back under your bridge troll.
Rant over.

Bluelab {Ed018's Note - everyone is entitled to their own opinion. You don't have to agree with it. Believe me I don't one bit. I think Oscar had a good season and will only get better. But no need to get all wound up about it}

33.) 31 May 2013
4 goals, 5 assist in 34 Premier League games for an attacking midfielder aka the Brazil no. 10 is a great season.

Good to hear we've set this high standards. Maybe Europa League really is our future. {Ed018's Note - he is only 21 and it was his first season at the club, in a new league. He should only get better}

34.) 01 Jun 2013
Sorry Ed18 but that guy that wouldn't sign his post is clearly not a Chelsea fan and was trying to wind me up. We all know Oscar is not a winger and at times when teams pack it in we were too narrow and needed more width buy our Mazacar trio were successful and were the talk of the EPL for the 1st half of the season. The repeated bashing of Oscar made no sense along with calling his signing a 'mistake' the club would regret.

Bluelab {Ed018's Note - I agree with you}

35.) 01 Jun 2013
We don't need a traditional winger, but he isn't capable of playing on the wing like Mata and Hazard are, at least not yet. Personally I think he's had a good first season but not the best when he plays out wide. Most of the good work he does is in the middle of the park.
Btw if you want an example of a team with true wingers then just look at Utd. In my opinion their wingers are s*** but they have true wingers and they won the title. (I'm not saying I want to copy their model either. I like the way our team play)

Is this Kevin de Bruyne posting about Oscar? Jeez if u don't wanna go back out on loan just say so!

37.) 01 Jun 2013
To be fair reading through all this has just made me chuckle, oscar is going to be a special talent, how people can say he has been one of our worst players is beyond me. football is not about having the best 11, its about the squad as a whole. if anybody thinks differently you have proved you know nothing about football. 1 other post that caught my eye, would be the sell mata for 50-60 million, I would just like to point out to all the other people who read this that you are an person. mata has been our best player since he came in. the man is a special talent that I think will go on to become a chelsea legend.

I wrote the post: Yes,. Why we need Oscar, Moses, Torres and etc. Only Cavani can replace whole team. What a shame. I forgot to sign it. I write seldom. I am sorry, don't think that I am going to teach anybody- we everybody played football in our childhood, but it doesn't mean at all that everybody understands football. Everybody knows 1+1= but it doesn't mean we are mathematicians. I am sure football is a profession and it needs more brain then chess. People, who Watch all football games through TV or on a stadium, I am sorry but doesn't mean that they understand it better then those who cannot watch all games. If we ask and demand from Oscar, Moses, Torres, Ramires to be better then Peter Cech, then may be somebody is right, otherwise we should give a time and a coach who can and would read their possibilities and helps them to become more stable footballers then they are at the moment, but it doesn't mean that they are bad. I am sorry if my post made anybody angry. I only wanted to say that you are a better footballer then me.
Peter Tomic.
