A great point, we are a coming side, the togethernesswas great. Caicaido tackle similar to the Spurs one last year a red probably.

Hopefully Santos is a good Caicado replacement onto to Leeds next week .

Not his biggest fan but the keeper was great today shout outs to Trev and Reece top games.

Agree with what you say seymns2.

Also who says reece can't play cm.

30 Nov 2025 18:25:37
Yes spot on seymns2 and a great point after losing Caicedo. Only regret is that for the umteenth time ill discipline may have cost us all 3 points.

30 Nov 2025 18:53:40
JBS may of cost us three you never no, but was a dumb red we were in control of the game and we lose him for three games he needs to learn not to dive in so forcefully.

30 Nov 2025 20:08:47
Yes it was a needlessly reckless challenge though it may onky be. a one match ban if not deemed to be violent conduct im not sure. But yes we were controlling game at the time and creating far more chances than Arsenal so probably lost us a win.

02 Dec 2025 08:36:12
I think it's only one match if it's for a second yellow. Pretty sure straight red is three unless it was for being last man/denial of a goalscoring opportunity.

{Ed001's Note - straight red is 2, unless it was for violent conduct or there have been previous reds in the same season for that player.}

02 Dec 2025 13:53:54
Caicedo as I understand it has got a three match ban.

{Ed001's Note - I should have specified anyway, I meant automatic ban, they have to face a disciplinary panel who can decrease or increase the punishment. What they call a 'frivolous' appeal against a red card is an automatic one game additional ban for example.}

02 Dec 2025 14:58:47
Thanks for corrections about red card penalties Tom and Ed001.

30 Nov 2025 17:34:03
Definitely a red. And could of gone wrong but let's be honest it didn't look like 10 v 11 arsenal setup not to loss.
I give it to maresca he is slowly changing my mind.

30 Nov 2025 18:28:40
Agreed the thing is that Arsenal may have been right to prioritise not losing right from the start. But not to have won the game afterCaicedo was sent off was a big lost opportunity for them and reckon our lads done better than well to stop them.

30 Nov 2025 18:31:53
Battled well just not enough again let ourselves down with the silly red.

30 Nov 2025 17:55:28
Gusto doesn’t even jump the man a liability and must be one of the worse players to wear the shirt he’s awful.

Agree0 0Disagree

30 Nov 2025 17:36:16
It was more fofana fault for the goal he left gusto 2v1 in the air. And it was the player infront of gusto that score which = fofanas man.
And I am not gusto biggest fan. My mine gripe with him, is his short hospital balls.

30 Nov 2025 17:42:21
Thought Gusto had a good game, no more at fault for the goal than the centre halves but we were down to 10 bound to be a gap somewhere we generally defended brilliantly. Nib you strike me as a glass half empty person a great point, in terms of the togetherness of the team.

30 Nov 2025 17:59:27
Half empty lol his glass is upside down, and probably chucked across the bar. With how he reacts early ?.

30 Nov 2025 18:22:26
seymns, you may regard me as a half empty glass person but I am very frustrated. We were the better team until the sending off. What annoys me is that every man and his dog knew that this would be a tight, physical and niggly game and discipline would be key.

Caicedo’s challege was needless and reckless: it fully deserved a red card. We let Arsenal off the hook.

30 Nov 2025 18:55:35
Jimbo would agree with most of that it was a stupid challenge.

30 Nov 2025 19:18:18
I still think gusto is awful either way he will
Not be playing next season, well not at the bridge

Fofana makes us look better Pedro up top was awful again we require a right back a goal scoring midfielder and a world class striker.

30 Nov 2025 20:05:13
Funnily enough nib i don't agree with any of your statements. Other than Pedro being awful. Was decent until Caicedo went off. So change in tactics didn't suit him.

30 Nov 2025 23:01:53
I think Gusto has shown a great deal of improvement this season. I certainly don’t blame him for there goal. Delap giving the ball away cheaply, Cucarella not putting enough pressure on Saka to stop the cross and Fofana losing his sat nav.

It was a red card, so no complaints from me on that score. Generally pleased with a performance that was tactically good. I enjoyed the game.

30 Nov 2025 17:12:30
Now it goes to ruins.

30 Nov 2025 17:32:51
Nib the pre-mature education again.

25 Nov 2025 23:56:14
Wow just wow.

Am currently in a a taxi back from the boundary on my way into Bagshot, thought I’d treat myself today to a cab due to the unbelievable performance saving myself from a llimebike in the artic conditions back to Clapham and a miserable train.

Arguably the best performace I have seen at Stamford Bridge in a very long time. Everton 5-0 under Conte seems the next nearest comparison. People will say we played against 10 men but we murdered them before that.

Cucurella had Yamal in his pocket the whole game and made him look like an amateur even after he done Cucu early doors with a rascal flip flap.

Enzo, Reece and Caceido bossed the midfield was like watching prime time Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta. Can now call them REC.

Defence was rock solid Foffana makes a huge difference just hopefully he can stay fit for 4 weeks. Big Trev stepped up to the plate tonight as well and thought Gusto was superb before being subbed.

Neto has been Mr reliable this season and didn’t dissapoint a great performance from him. Estevaodiniho don't even know where to start with him. 18 years old can't even imagine what it would be like to be that good at that age.

Im am going to bed tonight a very drunk and happy man.

Up the Chels!

Good morning Whitey, how’s your hangover?

Sounds like it was another wonderful night at the home of the World Champions. Gutted I couldn’t be there.

26 Nov 2025 08:48:05
Tom

You called it with Barcelona's high line.

Great performance by the whole team and its great us keeping clean sheets.

Yes we were against 10 men but to me that makes things harder, just look at Man U on Monday night.

How long before Madrid come calling for Estavo, perhaps offering their rea lady in part exchange, that i would not put past them, the tea lady that is.

26 Nov 2025 10:43:52
Bill, we have very astute owners who put Estevao on an 8 year contract, we keep the good ones and trade the rest for upgrades.
Whitey, how's the hangover? that was a pure masterclass by Maresca. let's hope he can come up with something similiar against the goonies and outsmart Artita.

26 Nov 2025 10:44:18
Morning Whitey ( aka my son )
Sounds like a good night at the Boundary last night.

I agree with your post, one of the best team performances for a long time, we should also mention Maresca who got his tactics spot on as well.
If we could beat Arsenal at the weekend that would be a great week.

Hope you got to work today!

27 Nov 2025 08:46:01
The hangover was terrible yesterday but was well worth the pain after such an enjoyable evening.

Arsenal is must win now Sunday as we can make a statement if we be beat them.

We still have Palmer, Colwill, Lavia to come back.

27 Nov 2025 10:59:18
It was a very special night and statement win. Whitey, you are spot on mate, when we get those 2 back (I have given up on Lavia) we will surely be challenging Arsenal but right now they probably have the edge and I think they will go on and win the league due in part to Artita having worked with his team for 7 years whereas Maresca is only just into his 2nd year although he is doing a pretty good job TBF.

27 Nov 2025 13:59:47
Wonderful atmosphere at the Bridge on Tuesday n8ght that got better and better especially after Estevao brilliant second goal. Celebrations in Matthew Harding Upper 17 so exuberant that I managed to injur my right ankle. Well I am a bot old for extended period of pogoing up and down with much younger fan on my right was setting pace plus had put his arm round my shoulder to het whole row doing this in something like unison.

Point was that reckon we all thought were present at very special team. performance and sense of owners project and Maresca management giving us a vision of great future fair bit before 2030 perhaps.

But yes both head and ankle still recovering. but worth it. Just hoping as am sure we all are that we can match Tuesday performance on Sunday.

25 Nov 2025 21:54:08
Absolutely buzzing.

Brilliant from the players plus tactically spot on from the manager.

My MOM Caicedo closely followed by Cucarella. Obviously everyone will understandably rave about our Brazilian wonder kid but our midfield with Enzo back on song is a match for most teams in Europe.

Just one more small point, the Sanchez distribution tonight was spot on.

25 Nov 2025 22:15:37
Great performnce man of the match could of been one of four or five not normally his biggest fan but I thought Enzo Fernandez was fantastic, playing with a quick tempo we look like a match for anyone, and Palmer coming back can only improve us happy days ahead, manager got it spot on tactically .

Nice to see Estevao and Delap score the future is bright.

25 Nov 2025 22:35:53
Just on train on way back from great game Tom and agree woth all in your post. Wpuld add that i thought Neto was excellent again too and that there Estevao had quite a few magic. moments beyond that great goal.

25 Nov 2025 22:45:59
Absolutely flawless performance; no MOTM for me: everyone did their job and more. Let’s carry on the good work on Sunday.

26 Nov 2025 09:04:12
Awesome performance from Maresca and the team, everyone of them played their part.

26 Nov 2025 10:46:06
Has Cucu let lamal out of his pocket yet? those Brighton boys our sporting directors brought in are really proving that us fans need to trust the experts.

22 Nov 2025 14:43:08
Have written my short summary of win v Burnley below in last thread. V good to. have navigated a potentially tricky away game v relegation candidates who started as well as wr started poorly.

Great that Santos had his best game yet for us plus Guiu got an excellent assist. Delap had a couplebof decent moments too though still a way to go to fully look like an elite no 9 striker.

But crucial we got the three points.

Agree0 0Disagree

22 Nov 2025 14:32:13
Very comfortable win with Burnley only causing problems for about the first 20mins.

I was tempted to pick Sancho as my MOM but i think I will go for Neto. His and and work rate means I just give him the nod.

Another clean sheet for Sanchez is always good plus giving Caicedo a rest is in my opinion massive.!

Agree0 0Disagree

22 Nov 2025 15:52:54
Tom i think Sancho almost single handedly kept Burnley out and CFC with high proportion of possession in first half and was huge throughout for us. Yes Neto goal great plus he played a good role in build up for our second but think not only was Sancho deserving of a MoM today but reckon it will be wonderful for the youngster in growing confidence as an EPL player.

But if Neto had been given it i would think choice pretty well deserved too!

22 Nov 2025 15:56:50
Sanchez had hardly anything to do - partly thanks to Sancho's blocks - but did almost provide goal gift howler early. on andong ball distribution not great today. He also had that muscommunication with TC that might have led to a Burnley penalty. On other hand he started the movement with quick short and risky pass that led to our second.

22 Nov 2025 16:45:48
Sorry I meant Santos of course - as I think you did Tpm - not Sancho who would not have been a worthy MoM winner!

22 Nov 2025 16:51:39
JBS, I did indeed. I’m cracking up nearly as much as I am with the Liverpool scoreline.

22 Nov 2025 18:12:45
These are the kind of results that I like and are important.

22 Nov 2025 19:08:45
Absolutely agree Jimbo, long may it continue.

24 Nov 2025 09:51:18
Crucial to take three points in these games.

22 Nov 2025 10:30:12
I’m not sure what to expect today or from the games against Barcelona and the gooners!

It would be typical of us to lose today and win the other two.

Team selection will be interesting with the other games in mind. I would line us to rest Caicedo but he is so crucial to whatever we do.

Anyway, COME ON MIGHTY BLUES.

Agree0 0Disagree

22 Nov 2025 12:37:10
Sanchez almost gifts Burnley a goal in withing first 4 minutes. Dreadfully careless clearance straight into the back of the head of Enzo F. Burnley full of energy and intent early on.

22 Nov 2025 12:39:07
Them Gittens with dreadful pass when we were in good attacking position that almost led to Burnley scoring from fast counter. Nervous time for us fans.

22 Nov 2025 14:37:22
But we imoroved considerably towards end of first half and Gittens great cross for Neto's excellent header producing sumptious goal. We dominated second half and missed several v good opportunities to go ahead until suoerb second involving quick passes from own penalty area to Guiu fine battling work tonlay second on plate for Enzo F.

Andrey Santos superb giving a v good impression of Caicedo - brilliant blocks to keep Burnley out first half and countless winning of the ball - and my MoM.

09 Nov 2025 11:19:04
I have now watched the game a couple of times and besides Fernandez being very good there were a few other things of note.

For a team/players that are "supposedly" not in love with player rotation they certainly celebrate as a team. Also, congratulations to Gusto, his first ever senior football goal. The lad is proving to be a valuable member of the squad.

I personally do not like fans booing during a game or at half time. I'm just not sure what it achieves and I certainly don't think it helps a player or the team. I will always support the team during a match.

Sanchez "looked" brilliant between the sticks (could have got out an deckchair ) and Chalaboa is proving it was a good decision to call him back from his loan.

Agree2 1Disagree

19 Nov 2025 09:41:08
I think you are right Tom about the way the team celebrate together, there appears to be a real togetherness amongst the squad and this is something Maresca insists on. I liked Noni as a player but I always felt he had an attitude and the same could of been said about Jackson and Sterling and one or two others who were moved on. Maresca insists on high standards and players will now be aware of this. Apparently Garnacho is working really hard in training and even putting in extra shifts which again will please the coach.

As for Gusto scoring he needs to add a few more now that first one has gone in because he has a good habit of often being in the right place at the right time. You rightly state that Fernandez bossed the game and he is now showing what a class player he is alongside Moises and Sanchez is just getting better and better and proving quite a few pundits wrong.
