Afternoon, Ed001 and Ed002. Hope all is well with you two. I enjoy the input that you consistently give on the matters behind the scenes at United, so mind me if I ask about two much-publicised matters regarding Chelsea FC.

First question; is there any update on the Eden Hazard contract situation? I understand he's been talking to the media, and has been honest and upfront. What is the feeling behind the scenes regarding him? Is he just as likely to sign as he is to leave?

Second question; any updates in regards to the sale of the club? There's been plenty of rumours floating about potential buyers, with the two most popular coming in the form of Jim Ratcliffe and Paul Allen. What is the feeling at the club regarding this matter?

Thank you!

{Ed001's Note - impossible to answer the first one as it is a personal choice for him to make.

As far as I am aware there is no intention to sell the club right now.}

Have you heard about any interest in Christensen?

It's only been a few matches and he's already talking about his frustration at his lack of game-time.

Was Rugani being considered to supplement our CB options or was it to replace Christensen?

Yea, its a good question cos I feel it's a bit early to be impatient, who knows what the oxygen is that's smoking the fire?

Drives me nuts when players go away on international duty and start giving contentious interviews with their national media.

My guess is that some interviews are blown up out of all proportion through what is usually a slack news period but it’s just another reason for me to hate these international breaks.

In this particular case he seems to forget how his performance dropped towards the end of last season!

Rugani won't be pursued any further I would imagine. His hardly kicked a ball this season so far, he should have pushed a move to us.

Good luck to Rugani and Juventus.

So these are names being mentioned that we will be chasing for transfers in January.

Romagnoli
F. Chiesa
Rabiot

Personally with Gary Cahill most likely going, we should try ti sign Romagnoli as he could really push David Luiz. Maybe next year he becomes a fulltime fixture in the team. I can't see Christensen make it at Chelsea, his been given his chances and he hasn't taken them. His moaning about playing time now and I can't see Sarri change his plans because of his moaning.

Chiesa is a good player, but is he what we need? Will he settle in ENGLAND? A lot of Italians have failed to settle here.

Rabiot is probably an option due to contractual issues at Paris. However, he will have many suiters but does he make it in our midfield which is a tough ask?

ED1 what are your thoughts? Who do you think Chelsea should be after in January to further strengthen and mount a serious title challenge?

{Ed001's Note - I wouldn't buy a defender, I would look to give Ampadu some game time if there is a gap.

I still think you should have bought Allan from Napoli, rather than Jorginho. I would still look to him.

Icardi is a complete knob, but I think he is the striker you need, in terms of on the pitch. Just not sure about his baggage, particularly Wanda! That leaves a player such as Werner as a decent option.}

Thanks for your reply ed1, you mentioned Ampadu and your right he should be given game time. With him there, maybe we don't need another CB if we simply put our trust in him. However, the club always looks at it differntly.

You mentioned Allan who I have to admit is very good, But the problem you have is Napoli. Icardi is baggage, wasted talent at Inter, could have had a career at the highest level. What do you think of piatek.

{Ed001's Note - I have not seen Piatek play to be honest mate.}

I'll back whatever Sarri says. Especially when it comes to buys from Italy.

Icardi isn't coming to Chelsea.

Ed001, personally I think neither Icardi, nor Werner suits our style.

{Ed001's Note - nor do I but there is no one who does, those two can both play off Giroud or Morata though, as well as provide cover up front. They would replace Willian I was thinking.}

Hi Ed, i see Napoli's game almost every week, I feel Allan is very good too and he's quite similar to Kante (quick, combative and closing everyone down), I get what you mean when you say, 'we should have gotten Allan instead'; but Jorginho on the other hand is like a loop that brings every one beautifully into the game, the guy just doesn't get tired of passing and distributing the ball. I would say that our central midfield is looking very good but it doesn't mean that we shouldn't take Rabiot or Allan if we can get him (cos everyone wants more) .
The team though is at that point where a little patience with players in certain positions will do the club a lot of good (at least till the end of the season) :
* Christensen and Cahill can hold till the end of the season, so maybe I don't see any need for Romagnoli in January unless maybe he becomes available and someone decides to leave.
* I want the club to bring in a very good right winger (AM) but it's looking like Pedro and Willian can hold that spot till next summer.
* A top striker is one position that we clearly need to bring in if Morata and Giroud don't start delivering the goods before January (but it's quite difficult to get a top striker in January) . So I pray Morata starts scoring very well.
* The deal that we must complete is by summer is Kovacic.

Ed001, what do you think of Maximiliano Gomez? Will he be an upgrade on Morata and Giroud?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - possibly. Potentially he is, right now he isn't though.}
