Ed reports suggest Cheick Tiote will be looked at for a replacement for Essien, personally I would like that, he's awesome, do u know of any thing there? And do u know if we are likely to sign Pastore? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea are unlikely to get the report from the medical staff until Monday. I don't know of any knee jerk reactions just yet. Pastore remains a maybe as a bid has been made.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cheick tiote was once looked at in january this is a major possibility

After the injury to Essien i have heard that Chelsea are interested in Scott Parker, have you heard of this rumour and what do you think the chance's of us signing him are Ed ? {Ed002's Note - Most unlikely.}

do you think there is any chance of chelsea getting di maria? we were linked with him before he joined madrid, hes very good mates with luiz, would all make sense pacey winger {Ed002's Note - It sdoes not matter who he is "mates" with. There is maybe a chance.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

It would help who he is 'mates' with as they could persuade him a little to join if it came to personal terms

Agree0 Disagree0

What ED said implies the fact that Fabregas is mates with the entire Barca team isn't the biggest factor in his transfer (links)

I hope that our club makes asmart and calculated investment and bid for Scotty Parker. If not for Mourinho preferencefor Thiagos and Smertins, he would have been perfect for us long term. He would cost up to 8 mil. Is 30, could be available for a three year deal at about 60K/week, is homegrown and judging by the form of last season would be our starter in the midfield, easily. Doesn't look like Mikel isgonna cut it, doesn't seem like Essien will be healthy long term and Lampard could be evergreen, but wont make a 60 game season on consistand high level. To have a player of Parkers experience and class would be a perfect addition. We have to understand that Sneijder, Schweini, de Rossi, Alonso and quite a few other fine midfielder aren't exactly begging us to take them on board, so we should frankly set ourselves achievable targets. Plus our squad is too thin in personel to handle a 4 competition seasin, especially with ACoN in Jan. {Ed002's Note - Parker's problem at Chelsea was a long term injury in his final season. Nothing else. He will not be rejoining.}

Is it true ED Sneijder is on the verge of joining Man Utd? {Ed002's Note -I think it is very likely he will join. I am not sure that he is quite "on the verge".}

ED002 in your view who are the most likeliest signings chelsea will make ? {Ed002's Note - I am not going to try and gues for fear of being slated if I am wrong.}

may aswell ask you some more ED002

1)Is moutinho a target ED002? With the Essien injury looking bad it looks like we will need another Mid or Luiz may play there
2) Anything knew on pastore? do Madrid have concrete interest in him?
3)May chelsea pick up interest in Aguero with Madrid moving for tevez?
4) What's going on with the right back position is Van der Wiel still prime target?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - (1) I don't know that he is but he may become a target. (2) Nothing new on Pastore - Madrid, I doubt it. (3) Quite possibly - a watching brief has been maintained. (4) AVB may have other ideas. Inter of course have already placed a bid, so Chelsea will need to move quickly.}

reports suggest alex is in talks with bayern chelsea should try and make this a cash and player deal for schwestiger or kroos {Ed002's Note - Or more realistically sell Alex and buy Rolando or Subotnic to replace him.}

Believable4 Unbelievable1

But we need a creative mid more and then buy scott dann

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2011 19:30:49
Is alex in talks with Bayern munich ED002

And reports suggest man utd are close to signing sneijder ? {Ed002's Note - Yes and yes.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This is just great. Now we need to find a central defender too? How long do I give Roman to ditch Chelsea and buy a spanish club? One year. {Ed002's Note - You could try supporting Manchester City.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think so. I fancy supporting Panathinaikos. At least they know they will never get a quality player

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2011 19:27:02
ed with sneijder seemingly only a matter of time away from becoming a united player is there any hope of Chelsea following up their interest in him?people are saying we'll fall behind them if they sign him.thank you {Ed002's Note - I really don't expect there to be any efforts by Chelsea to bid for Sneijder.}

A few questions for you ED002

1) Reports suggest Falcao has extended his porto contract is this true?
2) Is Di Maria a viable target as we looked to have missed out on Neymar?
3) Has interest increased in Mata over the last few days?
4) Have Madrid made a move for Tevez including Higuan or Benzeama in the deal, But have asked madrid not to pursue Aguero as they want him as a replacement for Tevez ?

Comment back cheers. {Ed002's Note - (1) The issue with Falcao is that his agent wants a guarantee of first team football. I don't suppose Chesea can give such an assurance. (2) Di Maria has interested Chelsea for a while. It looks less likely that any deal will be done for Neymar before January but much rides on the situation with Tevez. (3) There has bee a continued watching brief over Mata - nothing has changes. There is more of an overlapping dependency between Di Maria and Mata than Neymar and anyone else. (4) Sort of. I understand that Real Madrid would like to strike a deal for Tevez and would be willing to use Benzema and a smaller amount of cash. I doubt they would offer up Higuain personally. There is an informal agreement that the clubs will not bid directly against each other for a player so if Real Madrid inform Manchester City that their interest has gone, Manchester City will bid. And I expect that they will. This could see the end of any interest they have in Neymar as well. We will see.}

ED002 have real won the race for neymar then? Santos are allowing them to talk to the player is it over for chelsea? {Ed002's Note - Neymar remains a target but it is impossible to say what will happen. There is a regrouping going on again this weekend of the guys who have been in Argentina and Brazil. They are now back in Colorado and I guess there will be some discussions with the management team about strategy coming up.}

So Ed002 - is our transfer operation being handled in the Rocky Mountains?

{Ed002's Note - Only some of it - and it is really in the Elk Mountains range in any case).}

Could an alternative to pastore be marek hamsik ed?
They are both at least 6 ft so big enough for the prem, plus they both have similar goals per game ratios (last year at least, hamsik was better previously) and hamsik is only 24 next season (pastore 22) so the age isn't too different.

Thoughts ed? Personally Is like Hamsik, as surely he would be cheaper? {Ed018's Note - Napoli do not want to sell thier good players as they have qualified for the champions league this year. and they would slap a pretty high price tag on him anyways}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wat are u talkin about big enough for the prem you dont have to tall to be good look at messi wat is 5 ft 7 and is the best player in the world

Agree0 Disagree0

Well the premonition is a very physical league, so being bigger and stronger (especially playing in the middle) is a good thing in the prem...

Agree0 Disagree0

Messi wouldn't be half the player he is now if he played in the epl, let alone out of the barca team

Agree0 Disagree0

What about iniesta hes not that tall and he has won more than steven gerrard and frank lampard and plays in the middle

Agree0 Disagree0

Yea, but does he play in the premier league?

No.
Which is what I meant initially, prem football suits stronger player better, the prem is a very physical league, the Spanish is not.

If someone else quotes another Spanish player then they are bordering on retarded. {Ed018's Note - yea obviously these other posts are way off the subject. they saw that you mentioned height and all of the sudden everyone is talking about messi. and cmon we would all welcome messi to chelsea, so stop being ridiculous. point being hamsik is not for sale, no matter how tall he is}

Agree0 Disagree0

Claude makelele was one of the best midfielders in the world when he wasplaying with chelsea and he is not that tall

ED002 or ED018 have you guys heard anything concrete regarding these rumours about Di Maria and Marin? IMO it looks unlikely but please let us know. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have a long standing interest in Di Maria and he seems to have PO folk in Madrid. Maybe.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

09 Jul 2011 16:09:38
hi ed, have you heard anything going round about scotty parker re-joining? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable1 Unbelievable3

The odds have been slashed to 4/1 on skysports for the return of scott parker to the bridge

Ed..It surprises me that the club would bother trying to sign Neymar when every young high profile Brazilian attacking player prefers to go to either Spain or alternatively Italy.
We seem to have wasted a lot of energy and focus trying to land Neymar when Aguerro at least is interested in joining us. {Ed018's Note - i dont know if you remember but back in march or april, neymar gave an interview in which he stated that playing for chelsea was his dream, so at the very least he has/was interested in the thought of playing for chelsea. aguero may be revisited, we just have to wait and see}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Yes I remember that comment but frankly never believed him.
I suspect Real hadnt declared a serious interest at that stage and he thought we were the only club who had the cash to spring him from Santos.
I know there are complications with Aguerro but I can see Citeh moving in now that Tevez is likely on his way which complicates things further.

Hey ed I'm new to this site so sorry if this has already been mentioned but has there been anymore news on lukaku as it seems to of gone quiet, also will villa boas put an offer in for falcao with in the next few weeks. thanks {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new for Lukaku. Chelsea's interest in Lukaku cooled when Anderlecht said they wanted 30M euros for the player. Chelsea made it clear that was not going to happen and identified an upper value they would go no higher than. Arsenal were reportedly working on a 20M euros bid and Spurs are monitoring the situation. His agent has been hawking him around the English clubs. falcao remains a viable option.}

chelsea big name targets are going to be nearly impossible to get as now Alethico Madrid say they will not sell there star striker Aguero
this is what I think will happen and is realistic in my opion

aguero to stay at alethico Madrid
neymar to stay at santos or move to real madrid
David Villa to stay at barca
Fabergas to stay at Arsenal
Benzema to stay at real madrid
eto to move but I have no idea what clubs are after him
Nasri to join either United or chelsea
Falcao to move to Chelsea
Pastore to move to Chelsea
Lukaku to move to Chelsea
Modric to stay at tottenham unless Chelsea but no hell of a bid on the table for his signature
vdw I havent heard much onthat but I can see him playing for chelsea next season
all the big names are either not interested want to leave but cant cus of there club owners like Aguero and modric there owners wont want to sell there top top players and will want to hold onto them
I dont see much of a change next season and with united out buying new players it will make it even thougher for chelsea as now united have gotten young another great player.

outs
drogba or anelka or both
malouda
kalou
Bosingwa

Id say there defo leaving I wont know if others will leave but id say there the most likely to go

ins
Falcao
Lukaku
Pastore
vdw

avb needs to stop assessing the team and sort out what needs to be done and SOOON or chelsea will mis out on everything so come on avb get ur head out of the clouds and take out your check book and start signing new players

Ed, do we have an interest in marko marin from werder bremen? he seems to be a player we could do with. {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest right now but there have been enquiries amde in the past.}

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Great shout for this player...Young, skilful, can play either side, great delivery of the ball. I'd love to see him, turan, pastore, vdw and maybe falcao. Think that's all we need really.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need this kid more so than modric...younger, better dribbler.

If we don't sign one midfielder, striker and right-back then expect third place this coming season. MC and MU have been busy while AVB is still assessing the team?

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Stop dreaming for third place. If we dont buy players and get rid of the old guys, surely we are not going to play in champions league next season,

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes you are absolutely right

Unless we sign 2 midfielders

hi ed which position are chelsea looking to strengthen the most this transfer period? {Ed018's Note - we need a creative/attacking mid. we need some wingers. probably another forward and a right back}

i am really not quite sure how true this new source is so dont jump on my back, but i know for a fact he is in argentina and aparently chelsea are looking at dos santos or mexico, we were once linked with the player hes matured nationally lets just see, your thoughts ed? {Ed018's Note - he has looked good recently. im just not sure he would cut it at chelsesa

Believable1 Unbelievable3

I definitely agree that is pretty much the words i used for my man at copa america, i think he could do well playing with better players, he didnt grow up in the barca system for nothing, please update me if you hear anything more.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, Dos Santos was very impressive during the Copa America. I wouldn't mind seeing more Mexican players in Europe. I think he would be a good addition. However, going up against the powerhouse big boys in the EPL may be difficult.......
