I eds are porto willing to talk about the sale of martinez or is it just a no go situation. Many thanks

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Porto are willing to cash in on Martinez.}

So there may be a chance we could sign him then I thought they didn't want to sell

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - If they can get the money the want they would sell.}

And the money they want I bet is more than chelsea are willing to pay.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is Martinez not believed to have a release clause of £26million?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Which would mean what?}

If Essien were to leave this window where would interest come from?

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Italy.}

What teams in Italy are interested ED?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Napoli.}

Just a quick question Ed, Is there anything new on the De Bruyne situation, have any clubs made offers for De Bruyne and if so, have they met our valuation for the player? Thanks

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - There have been discussions with Wolfsburg and agreement reached with the clubs. It is up to the player to agree terms or to see if there is another offer. I suspect he will be happy with this deal and everyone can move on.}

Hi Ed I take it this is for a permanent transfer and not a loan. Plus thanks for the update would you see us replacing him

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes for a permanent transfer and yes he will be replaced. It is all subject to contracts and an apology is required over something etc., but within a few days it should all be cleared up.}

Thanks ed . Being nosy but an apology from who? Also would we replace him for another attacking midfielder or another position I don't see the point in buying another attacking midfielder when we have hazard Oscar Willian mata schurlle.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The apology is unimportant to you. The plan is to replace him with Guarin.}

Ok thanks I no it's of no importance too me just fort it was strange and was being nosy. But thanks any way great work as usual

Agree0 Disagree0

I for am glad he is going. He just falls short no where good as Oscar hazard and the likes let's hope gurain comes as we seriously in need of deep lying playmaker

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm almost certain that we will regret this and KDB will become a world class player, but looks like its set in stone.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You should never regret it. He wants things the club cannot commit to and has not shown in training that he is will to work to obtain those goals. One of those things and time to move on.}

I didn't know of his attitude in training, which being the case makes it less of a surprise then that he's being moved on. Just annoying as at the start of the season everyone had high hopes for him. I thought he would be better than Hazard given time, but that was based on thinking he had a better attitude for training, which I guess he doesn't.

Agree0 Disagree0

Best for everyone to move on but why guarin :(

Its no secret that we are after a striker, similarly its not much of a secret that a midfielder and long term replacements for Lampard, Terry and Cole are needed. There is also a strong likelihood that come September, at the latest, Torres, Essien, Eto'o, Mata and De Bruyne will need replacing.

I kinda hope we don't sign a striker in this window, the signing of Ba last January showed what a panic buy gets you. What we've got haven't exactly been free scoring but we're still challenging with them up top. Lukaku will/should return next season and this is somewhere that we will almost defiantly need to spend money before next season.

There are youth and loan players that I'm certain can cover some of our losses, Van Ginkel for instance showed his quality in the midfield during pre-season and definitely has the ability to take over from the midfield players that leave. Lucas Paizon and Traore can also come into the squad for Mata and De Bruyne; they're not quite like for like in ability yet but will more than ably backup Oscar, Hazard, Willian and Schurrle.

Replacing Lampard, Terry and Cole is almost impossible, they've provided a British core to the side for the best part of a decade now; a British core that's important. Barkley and Shaw would be ideal, but expensive, replacements for Lampard and Cole. We already have Terry's replacement in the England side playing for us and rumours are circulating that he is getting a new 4 year deal. Other than that there are no decent British centre backs around at the moment. Kurt Zouma would be a great longterm signing though.
