So ed does that mean we are defiantly going to buy iCardi and koulibably because we really need them two against West Ham so do u think these deals could be imminent
Thanks in advance.

{Ed018's Note - I have no idea if they are going to buy them. They would like to buy Koulibaly. Icardi could be an option and even if they bought them today it'd be highly unlikely a new player would play much part in a match that's in 6 days}

I hardly see the need for Icardi right now. He's a good striker, but we've already got Costa, Batman and Traore. Plus Remy who's still with the club. A striker is the least of our worries.
Koulibaly on the other hand, I hope the situation surrounding him gets resolved quickly. If the move doesn't happen we need to move on to other targets. Tah, Marquinhos or even Lindelof will do just fine for me.

If only. Koulibaly won't be sold because we have pissed Napoli off and now they won't sell to us out of principal like Everton did last year.

Tah will be like most promising Germans and end up at Bayern. Regardless if they need him or not.

Marquinhos clearly is not coming so that is out the window.

We will settle for Lindelof because we could not get anyone else probably.

Not mentioning any posts in particular, but reading what some people have written, is there any surprise that ed02 doesn't contribute to this page anymore.

Remy will leave shortly and traore isn't good enough if one of Costa or batman gets injured were back to last year again.

Traore did a job we never called apon last season, we finally give a youth player a chance and he's not good enuf and you want us to buy someone else! Striker is the last position we need to worry about imo.

I cannot see the attraction in Victor Lindelhof. We need an experienced centre back not potential. He has played less than thirty games for Benfica over three seasons, surely not the answer to our problem. This and Lukaku have that desperation feel to them; the CB is an issue but Icardi if we could get him is far more mobile than Lukaku and knows where the goal is and cheaper.

Wait did I miss something, how is Traore not good enough? Care to explain or is this just a case of wanting a new signing?

Couldn't agree more ELI . I'd be happy to have traore getting a few games this year. Top class talent.

Kinda harsh to frame it that way C1915. Lindelof only broke into the first team in like January and ended up playing 25 games. Will he necessarily come straight into the first 11, probably not but his ability to play all across the back and even cover at DM, certainly makes him an attractive addition from my point of view.

Fuser: I totally agree with Lindelhof as back up and potential but that is not our current issue, we need somebody substantial now as in the pre-season we have been found wanting. I would be a little concerned also paying the price that has been thrown around for a player with so little big game experience, that said I am aware we are in a sellers market.

Yeah a striker is the least of our worries right now because it seems as though conte will be playing with a loan striker rather than a double due to the loan of Traore as if either of the strikers get injured they have backups where as of the we playing together and one got injured the only back up we have was Traore, (I know we have Remy but imo he's not good enough)

From Ed on Everton page regardiner Lukaku

{Ed002's Note - I did not say anything about "top brass". What I said was that the two people at the club who were particularly offended have agreed to sanction an offer although one still remains concerned. Whilst not first choice for Chelsea and whilst they will not pay the price being asked, the player wants to return and Everton know that. So it is possible. Napoli remains a possibility but not at the asking price. In the interim, Chelsea are keen to ensure that they have sufficient cover are now (today) talking with a representative of another striker. I very much doubt they will be interested in being screwed around. }.

Hi Eds.

Any updates or news on any incoming players/ interest?

Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - obviously Koulibaly, there is another option if Koulibaly does t happen. There are 3 players of interest playing in the Olympics, I'm assuming Thiago Maia is one of them. There certainly will be some sold and sent out on loan over the coming weeks as well}

Is barbosa one ed.

As of today it looks like our targets are:-

Koulibaly
Icardi
Barbosa
Maio
+1 other at Olympics
Perhaps Isco as well.

Marquinhos and Felipe Andersen at the olympics, does anyone know if we might be watching either of those 2.

Last night and early today's rumour is that Napoli have turned down Chelsea's new bid of €50 million for Koulibaly. I don't think we're meant to sign a CB are we.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

09 Aug 2016 03:46:16
It means we will sign someone else. Devrij! Lidelof! Mustafi!

I don't think we'd wait so patiently for Koubabaly unless we were pretty confident of it happening.

We are going to mess this window up aren't we? What the hell is happening at the club? No players sold, 2 players bought in, but at least 2 more are needed (depending on sales) . Why can't we just get the sales/ buys done early doors and then concentrate on gelling the team together for the coming season. But not Chelsea, we put all our eggs into one basket and hope something happens.

Is this going to be a case of deja vu. Wanted all these top names and got some poor defender and a second rate striker.

Come on Chels, pull the finger out!

Selling isn't easy at most clubs around the EPL unless the player is going to a proverbial larger club. The issue is a very average player gets wages that greatly exceed other players of their ilk. This is the #1 reason you see the massive loan army. You also must factor in that the player must accept the move which would be a step down and potentially to a city less marketable than London.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 17:26:28
No surprise for me. The club just have no interest in going for it anymore when it comes to landing the players we need when other suitors are willing to pay more.

I don't care anymore. We will just have to find another way because clearly the well has well and truly dried up.

I would rather see academy products such as Chalobah and Tomori be given an opportunity than sign Lindelof and some second rate striker.

Mahrez rumours are back, plus Cuadrado to Milan seems more concrete.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Personally I'd sell Willian, Oscar, Pedro and Cuadrado to buy either Mahrez or Griezmann for the RW position. We need quality over quantity the likes of Traore and Kenedy can make up the squad places. We haven't had a threat down the right since Joe Cole/ Robben were here.

09 Aug 2016 02:38:43
And Moses forgot about him.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 03:30:02
Not sure selling Oscar for RW reinforcements makes sense, but I agree with the others (not that I feel we would need to sell that many players to get one of those guys if they wanted to come (since we all know Griezmann doesn't) )

09 Aug 2016 04:06:59
I'd clear space if it meant griezmann however I'm still not sold on mahrez. For me most of his highlights came when he was running into open space which is something that is almost never afforded to Chelsea. That said I would be pleased to sell Pedro and Moses without anyone else coming in.

I do believe that Leicester were actually staying in London anyway due to the Community Shield. Think people may be putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5!

Adam, Leicester were staying at a hotel next to Wembley. Only Mahrez was spotted at the Chelsea Harbour.
