Hey Eds, has there been interest in Florent Malouda if yes then which teams. I know he's looking for staying @ Chelsea but i think the club would rather sell him but maybe i could be wrong, afterall he was a standout player in the Premier League in 2010. One more question, for how much do u think he could be sold.

Hi Eds. Wouldn't the purchase of Modric have huge effect on McEachrans chances this season....isn't Josh regarded as starting XI quality just yet? Cheers {Ed018's Note - i dont think josh is ready to be a starter every week just yet, i do expect him to see much more action though. and if its been AVB's plan to bring in another midfielder then they already have an understanding on how they want to use josh}

I think the signings we have made are not huge names now but have the potential to be huge players in years to come.
The only position I think we desperately need to strengthen is LW if we are going to play 4-3-3.
Di Maria or hazard would be good options.ED do you think utd would be interested in selling nani as he would be perfect.Also his playing time maybe cut short with young/Valencia the favoured option for fergie.
By getting some quality wingers,that would give our midfielders more space and would stretch defences,something we didn't do enough last season.Also would just like to say I'm very impressed with the performances of Sturridge and Josh in pre-season. {Ed018's Note - i dont think United want to sell Nani and if they did he would be out of England}

Hi Ed's - In your opinion do you feel AVB is content with the sqaud he has or do you see a few twists before transfer windows shuts. Thanks {Ed018's Note - i still feel like another player will come in, he must be pretty content because he hasn't been getting rid of many players and bring in a bunch of new ones.}

I still think 2-3 players will arrive and 2 -3 will leave {Ed018's Note - its possible, its just to hard to know for sure}

Chelsea FC are ready to step up in their attempts to try and land Real Madrid winger Ángel di María despite being told by the Spanish giants last month that the player is not currently for sale. Any truth to the tory ed? {Ed018's Note - unless Madrid are willing to sell, it would probably take a fee that Chelsea are unwilling to pay, so i'm not sure what stepping up there efforts really mean in this}

Hey Ed, do you know of any current interest in Douglas Costa? Hes a CAM as i understand it, which is a void that needs filling @ the club and i think he would be able to be utilized on the wing too, if need be. Looks a great prospect, young, cheaper than others we have been looking at, and brazilian, so the rest of the samba players should help him settle if he were to come.

Also, any news on hazard being linked? {Ed002's Note - Refer to earlier answers.}

Chelsea will make a shock £35million bid for Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder after admitting defeat in their efforts to prize Luka Modric away from Tottenham. Any truth to this rumor ed? {Ed002's Note - Is this a rumour or something off Twitter or a Blog? I really cannot respond to random items found off the internet. It is not a good use of my time, sorry.}

This is coming from two websites caught offside and fanatix. {Ed002's Note - Fanatix is a blog. I would suspect if you check caughtoffside that their source is a blog - at fanatix.}

So does this mean that they are unrealible sources?

What do you think?

Caught offside is about as reliable as Kalou in front of goal-not at all...

Ed, i'm aware of Zhirkov's fate while at Blues, but why was he bought for this much in the first place is what i can not understand. We have also bud for Coentrao, now looking at Perreira. There must be some logic before AVB and now with him at the helm.

It is widely consisered that we have hole on the right and we do nothing about it (on all the right side), but continue buying, bidding, scouting for mega expensive keft sided wing backs. Any other ideas maybe?

ED002: Dear Ed please explain if you can, coz' i'm a little lost over this. It is fair to say we have the best left back in the world. For arguments sake - one of the top and surely a top performer for us. He's at a good enough age to play at this level for at least a couple of seasons.

Two seasons ago we have invested 18 million pounds for his back-up in Zhirkov on Guus advice. Never understood the move, and it took the club a couple of seasons to assess the fact that there was no actual need of his. Grant - he played a few games in the middle and a few up front. Some even good ones. But i would expect at least that from someone who cost us this much.

So finally we ship him out. Have two absolutely magnificent prospects in van Aanholt and Ryan Bertrand, make one available for loan and one would suspect keep the other to groom him, give him cup games, substittute action, a start here ant there. Considering that both Ferreira and David Luiz are capable of providing cover at the left, i would suspect we are fully covered on our left side.

But now i'm reading that we are about to invest into a Uruguayain left back as a replacement for Zhirkov?? I just hope it is bollocks, as i can't comprehend why would anyone including the oil rich guys would invest some 20+ millio n into a back up which don't even need? Hi ed , Rangers fan here , Scottish media stating AVB is willing to loan us at least one player for a season due to his close friendship with gers coaching staff . Media speculation is mceachrean or sturridge but personally feel they are too good to go on loan to Scottish football . Any ideas who they might be ? Cheers. Bertrand has no confirmed destination that I am aware of - although Portsmouth are keen.}

I know Chelsea formation has been 4-3-3 for quite some while and there's a lot of talk about whether Torres or Drogba plays. Why don't we consider changing our formation? Width isn't our department we are gifted in so it would make sense to change. Two other formations I think would work would be, 4-3-1-2 or 4-1-2-1-2. ED and other users what do you think? {Ed002's Note - I have no interest in formations or discussing them - rather like AVB - who equally thinks folks are misled about formations as they constantly need to adapt during a match. I recall a discussion once where it was decided that the only time formations could be considered fixed was at kick off.}.

ed any truth in inkoom rumours {Ed002's Note - I don't know how serious they are. I know little of the player. He was in Switzerland for a while at Young Boys or Basel. Perhaps an Emanelo favourite.}

Ed. any truth chelsea are moving for alvaro perreira of porto. Thanks {Ed002's Note - I know that he has been considered as a replacement for Zkirkov but I am also aware that at least one influential person has reservations about how he would fit in.}

Is he a left winger or a left back ED02? {Ed002's Note - Actually he is more of a traditional left wing back.}

If we sign this player we are crazy and wasting money Ok Zhirkov has gone but we have either Bertrand or PVA to cover who are good enough.

Hey Ed do you think Lukaku will play much games this season ? {Ed002's Note - I cannot sensibly quantify the number of games he will play. I would expect more appearances as a substitute than a starter.}

What kind of person asks a question like that.
