hey ed,

are the club looking at hoilett as an alternative to victor mosses? i dont see why he would like to join a club fighting for the title and he is also free and arguably better than mosses.

thanks,
cali {Ed002's Note - No.}

Holliett left Blackburn already and gone Germany I think

Thanks {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it.}

ED002 have you been told of a bid for Schurrle? {Ed002's Note - I answered the question.}

List of current midfielders and current position about staying or leaving.

Lampard-He was rumoured to be of interest to La Galaxy and elsewhere, in my honest opinion he'll stay and to be honest I desperately want him to! OUTCOME-STAY

Meireles-He is of interest of lots of clubs, I think it quite likely he will leave this summer, and I'm not to bothered if he left but I would still be fine if he stayed. OUTCOME- LEAVE

Ramires-No point talking about him, he will definitely stay. OUTCOME-STAY

Mikel-He was decent towards the end of the season, I'm not sure if he is of interest to any clubs, (I would expect so though) I expect him to stay. OUTCOME-STAY

Essien-He didn't look at all like the Essien of old, and I expect that Pre-season if going to be absolutely crucial to see whether there is any change, but I do expect him to stay. OUTCOME-STAY

Romeu-Stay at the club and not to go on loan and to fight for his place.

Mceachran and Piazon, I think can take the load from Meireles if he leaves and I think it would be excellent for them as players to see them improve and show what they've got and for them to get experience.

No need for any more midfielders in my opinion.

PR!

Believable11 Unbelievable7

So ur saying lampard, ramires, Mikel and Essien is good enough? We've got one out of the four playing decent football

Agree0 Disagree0

I Would be supprised is both essien and mikel were kept, romeu im also not to sure

mceachran is going on loan and piazon needs 1 more year.

we need a RW and any other midfilders/wingers will be needed for squad with possibility 0f 70+ games we are going to need strength in all areas.

i think your right about Lamps i expect him to see out his contract with a move to mls next january Ramires aint going anywhere and mereles i think your right there as well fella.

i would expect a couple off additions to the midfield before the summer is over.

BlueBen

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, if you read and watched the end of last season you would have seen Ramires yes playing incredibly well, Mikel was playing the best football he has ever played in a chelsea shirt, Lamps was excellent as usual, and if you read what I said was that Essien wasnt great at all, but pre-season was going to be important. Also remember with the likely formation we will play is that we only need two midfielders...

PR!

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on PR, i just don't see the need, plus anyone we're linked with is going to cost 30 mil +.

trueblue012

Agree0 Disagree0

If the club followed your advice we'd finish 8th. McEachran couldn't get a game at Swansea and Piazon has no top-level experience and we're banking on them to replace a full international in an already inadequate midfield? It would be a criminal abdication of responsibility. This is a 200m turnover business, operating decisions aren't made on the basis of irrational gambles or whatever seems like a good idea in FM2012. When you do that, you end up like Blackburn.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramires has actually hinted at a move back to brazil

Agree0 Disagree0

The Ramires thing was misread, also to the geezer who said that we would end up like Blackburn and said that I run a club like Football manager, if I did I would want to buy Xavi, Modric and Yaya Toure which I'm quite clearly am not stating at all...What I'm saying is that for the two midfielder positions we are going to have 5 midfielders to cover it, and what's wrong with giving them experience against lower league clubs in the capital one cup or Fa Cup...

Reports saying we've had a £16m bid rejected for Schurlle. Looks a great prospect but with 3 strikers already in Torres, Lukaku and Sturridge is this a replacement for Sturridge? Who has been linked with a move away for some time now.

Ed, do we have any sort of relationship wit Corinthians and do u know anything about us have first refusal on the youngsters of a club from Slovenia/Slovakia?
Dastanj {Ed002's Note - I cannot answer questions with "any sort" in - it is entirely subjective. There is an agreement with Kosice and a couple of other sides but don't get wrapped up in any thoughts of "first refusal" as such.}

Hey Ed, being a while since u posted on any of this guys so, what is the latest with Wallace, Ronan and Pernao, do u think any of them will come over to Chelsea this summer, how serious is our interest in Igor Lichnovsky, Mauro Caballero and Lucas Patinho, can u see making a move for any of them this summer and back to europe, how strong is our interest in Kovacic and Markovic, is the club looking to deal for any or both of them this summer and lastly, which other youngsters are we looking at? Peace out.
Dastanj {Ed002's Note - Don't expect any of those Brazilians this summer. The Kovacic situation is complex. Markovic has attracted the attention of Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayer Leverkusen and Espanyol. A move in the summer is possible but Partizan Belgrade may price him out of the market.}

Hi ED(s) although Dortmund do not want to sell Lewandowski has he interested Chelsea at all? Would they consider bidding for him? {Ed002's Note - Dortmund's Lewandowski has been watched by Liverpool, PSG, Real Madrid, Rubin Kazan, Manchester United, Spartak Moscow (who are concerned about losing Welliton), Juventus and Lille. I very much suspect Bayern Munich would be top of the list with a cheque in hand should he not agree an extension at Dortmund but Dortmund certainly do not want to sell him to BM. The other more viable options are Arsenal, Manchester United, Juventus (albeit he is probably fourth choice for them) or possibly Real Madrid if Higuain moves on, or PSG if Higuain stays in Madrid. At present Dortmund and the player have been unable to reach agreement over a new deal but that does not mean that they won't.}

Sao Paulo midfielder Lucas Moura explains that he could make a move to Europe this summer.

The 19-year-old is one of the most sought-after players in world football at the moment, with a number of high-profile sides chasing his signature.

Real Madrid and Inter appear to be leading the race for the player who already has 15 Brazil caps to his name, and there is every chance that he could make a switch to Europe as early as this summer.

Lucas Moura admits he is unlikely to see out his contract with the Brazilian side that runs until June 2014.

“I cannot confirm my stay until 2014 because there is a lot of time and you never know what will happen tomorrow,” the youngster told Folha de Sao Paulo.

The player also confessed he is tempted by the reported interest from Europe’s top clubs.

“I open internet and see that Inter Milan, Real Madrid and I don’t know who else are coming for me with loads of money.

“Of course I’m thinking…But, I cannot let it go to my head because I am a quiet man with my feet on the ground.”

My question ed would Chelsea come in with another bid? {Ed002's Note - We'll see what happens.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

I hope we manage to get this guy one of the best talents around.
Going to take some real heroic negotiating to get him though has i get the feeling money is not the issue.

For anyone who cannot find the list of players that people were asking ED for here it is

{Ed002's Note - The following players, plus no doubt others, have been of interest to Chelsea recently to one extent or another ranging from buying them (e.g. Marin) to simply enquiring of an agent but not a club (e.g. Giroud): Alba, Ananidze, Azpilicueta, Cavani, Cortes, Costa, Debuchy,, Doumbia, Dzagoev, Emmanuel, Eriksen, Falcao, Fernando, Ganso, Giovinco, Giroud, Goetze, Hamsik, Hazard, Higuain, Hulk, Ilicic, Inigo Martinez, Isla, Jovetic, Konoplyanka, Kovacic, Krasic, Lavezzi, Marin, Markovic, Moses, Moura, Moutinho, Muller, Muniain, Neymar, Ocampos, Oliveira, Patinho, Pernao, Piszczek, Reus, Ronan, Rondon, Schurrle, Susaeta, Van Der Wiel, Wallace, Wallace and Willian. Searching should find information on most and I really do not have the time to start fielding questions on them.}

BLUEBLOOD

Depending on what you read this morning we are either very close to confirming the signing of Maicon, or have dropped interest in him and are re-enquiring as to the availability of Azpiliqueta!

The signing of Maicon would, for me, suggest that the club very much sees Kane as our future right back - in say two years time. This somewhat buffers what I personally do think would be a poor signing; taking wages into consideration.

The signing of Azpiliqueta, or Debuchy or Pisceckz for that matter, would allow us to have a long term right back in place for when Kane is ready to come into the first team who can share duties with the youngster.

The signing of Maicon just doesn't make any sense in footballing or business terms!

Surewould

Believable6 Unbelievable2

I agree with you. Maicon makes no sense for Chelsea what so ever. Let Real Madrid take him, we will take Azpiliqueta and have him for the long term. {Ed002's Note - It is not possible to simply "take" Azpilicueta - it really doesn't work like that. Whilst he remains first choice an issue remains regarding whether or not he will be willing to England. However, I think it is looking more rather than less likely that something can be done.}

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2012 10:11:08
Ed, would it be possible for you to name the players that chelsea are looking to sell like you did with real madrid?

Also, am i right in saying that the players you didnt include in the list of chelsea targets such as fellaini, modric, walcott, rvp and maicon, have never been targets just twitter rumours and we should stop asking about them as they definitely won't sign? If that is the case then i think we should all trust Ed and stop including them in our "fantasy teams" and only enquire about the players Ed has named.

Dave {Ed002's Note - I really do not want to get into discussing folks not on the list. As for sales, Chelsea will not stand in the way of anyone wishing to leave and in some cases sales will depend on purchases. But Meireles, Malouda, Ferreira, Benayoun and perhaps Kakuta could leave.}

I personally think Kaka was looking pertty good last season at Madrid.Ed,do you think Madrid are going to sell him?
roan {Ed002's Note - Yes with Diarra, Carvalho, Granero, Altintop and perhaps Higuain.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We should buy Lassana Diarra, I was so angry when we let him go, he's class!

Hazard can play left ,right and center.When he was playing for Lille he played mostly on the right with Joe Cole on the left,last season.So,Hulk signing is not a priority(if he signs then it is fine but we won't go all out for him)as we have already got Hazard in that position.I think the only position that requires a must signing is the right back position.Everbody is saying that De bruyne looks pretty good , so I guess we won't let him go on loan and play him in the left or in the center.We have all forgotten Benayoun,he may still have to play a part this season.Hmm.. looks interesting.
roan

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Everybody is forgetting we are buying to build a strong squad not just a first eleven
Drebs

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly Drebs, We could end up playing 70+ games this season To fight on all fronts we are going to need a squad with some real depth to it and various diffrent options,

Also i belive hazard will play a more central roll in his favoured position (CAM) with mata taking cm and marin on the left then its anyones guess at the moment who will play on the right as it stands id put ramires there.

Hey ed what are your thoughts on thiago silva. I know that it's more likely for him to go to man city but he would be excellent force with David Luiz when Terry's gone.(I know he has signed a new long term contract with AC)

Hey Ed,
Bit of a long one for you mate, if what i herd was Bs then dont worry about reading anyfurther then first paragraph,cheers for taking the time again fella.

1.Is it true that R.Madrid offered a player swap for lucas Moura in exchange for kaka, and both sides agreed but kakas wage demands were to much and the deal fell through hence why R.Madrid turned there attention to Luka Modric ?

2.If that is true does that mean that sao paulo would be willing to sell for the right price ?

3. Again if that answer is yes does the fact R.Madrid are about to land Luka Modric mean the it is a three way race for Lucas Moura Signiture between us and Manchester United ,Inter millan ?

4.I notice you had Lucas on the list, i know you said the list varies from player to player on the intrest we have in them but has an offer been laid out for lucas buy chelsea yet and if so i dont suppose you no how much that was do you ed ?

I only ask because i honestly belive this guy and Neymar are going to be the next Superstar's in world football to get either would be amazing for the club and the league.

BlueBen
Thanks again mate Enjoy your Weekend. {Ed002's Note - (1) Yes, (2) No necessarily, (3) No, (4) Chelsea have made two offers. The price is not a matter for discussion.}

Believable0 Unbelievable2
