I believe your travelling ed so can't give a full update but wondering briefly what defenders we are looking at and if the Nathan ake rumours are true that we are very keen on him .

Personally It is a relief, not much of an improvement on what we already have. We should be aiming for an experienced CB with physical and leadership attributes. I would wait for ED2 update later.

Wonder what Ruben Dias would be valued at, ticks a lot of boxes. 22/ 23 years old so don’t know if his the big commanding experienced man we need .

Nathan Ake would do a Van Dijk I think, if he came back. Superb defender and can cover many positions.

Why is that so farfetched? Van Dijk had a similar situation at Southampton to Ake at Bournemouth. If you are going to criticise an opinion, at least say why, rather than just belittiling it.

I just wouldn't understand why we would be interested in Ake. Personally, I think that he is a very average defender and certainly no better than what we have - in fact, I would suggest that Tomori, Rudiger and Guehi are far better. And, as for comparing Ake with Van Dyke, I just don't see the comparison.

Because Ake is nowhere near Van Dijk nor will he ever be so there’s my opinion I’d of thought it would have been obvious to everyone else why.

I’m not a fan of making player comparisons. If he joins our club he will, I’m sure, be given every chance by the fans to show us just how good he is in a better team than Bournemouth.

Ake would be needed because he's a left footed CB. We don't have any of those and it's no surprise whoever's had to play the LCB spot has struggled. Playing the ball out from the back you need your CB to either be good with both feet or to play on the same side as their strong foot. Personally i think we can do better than Ake but i like him and he's an upgrade on any of our CB's playing in the LCB spot.
