Looking at this chart's series of events, do you completely believe that Courtois' decision to join Real Madrid has completely been about his family? Please look through the chart very before you answer.

I think your looking in to it a bit to much. of course he would want to go to Madrid regardless. His family being in Madrid would be a massive reason why he would want to go there. Why would he not want to play for the European champions and see his kids on a regular basis?

Obinna123 - if Kepa had gone to Madrid then we would be looking at an alternative, we had a short list of about 4/ 5 potential replacements. A couple of days ago we were all discussing replacements and I didn't see a mention of Kepa then.

Courtois was never going to stay at Chelsea.

I agree his attitude has been poor at times . However his children live over there, imagine seeing them during the summer break then having to say goodbye again, knowing that there is an opportunity to live close by. However bad it seems to us you have to do what U know is best for your children.

Surprised we left it this late though. Did we think we could convince Courtois to stay? . Considering we also could've gotten Alisson cheaper than Kepa as well. Unless he was only interested in Liverpool. Happy with Kepa though, couldn't care about the price. With Courtois going for £35-40m it isn't that bad imo.

One for the present and future. He will be excellent. Kovacic is another ideal signing, hopefully we get the option to buy at the end of the loan. All off a sudden things are looking good.

I’m not complaining if we sign kepa as I don’t know anything about him but why did we not just sign alisson for less. From what I have read alisson is more experienced and suits sarri way of being able to distribute the ball well. I can only guess tito Courtois never communicated with Chelsea until after Liverpool had already signed him and maybe he club were confident he would stay. It just seems strange yet again that the club has been backed into a corner and is forced to throw money at players this late in the window. As a fan it’s exciting but these big deals should of been done weeks ago.

This may seem crazy to you NWBLUE but perhaps Alisson wanted to join Liverpool, I know Real were his first option but not every player would automatically join Chelsea over Liverpool.

Haighton87, totally agree. Kovacic would bring something completely different to our midfield. Let's hope there's some truth behind this deal.

Buzzing about this. What a piece of business that would be. Such a quality player, he’s literally got the full skill set. Midfield 3 of Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic? WOW! Let’s hope the 3 backups are Cesc, Ross and RLC.

Now we just need to pack Courtois’ bag and replace him.

Loan with 'obligation' to buy. Which means he's potentially our player once the deal is agreed. The deal makes sense. Hope we Oblak or Kepa too.

These are strong rumours for last few days. Csnt see too much truth in some but I can guarantee that we won't be able to get more than 2 If we're lucky in next few days unless we're really close to someone now, plus getting dead wood out and spending near on £200m. never going to happen.
