Ed did malouda go to PSG? {Ed018's Note - no, there is interest from PSG though}

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Il drive him there

Agree9 Disagree1

He can take kalou with him aswell

Agree8 Disagree2

I'd happily give him a piggy back there...

Agree10 Disagree1

Hopefully not at least until the summer.
Mata struggles with 90 mins quite often and might well need resting as the season progresses.
Flo is a great standby who makes and scores goals, something we will find difficult to replace in January for sure.
Kalou is quite simply the best sub in business and again someone we will struggle to replace.
Where will we find a better player who is prepared to be a sub?
I hope he accepts the new contract he has been offered.

Agree1 Disagree6

Couldnt agree more with the above post! malouda gets way to much stick...he has been a good player for us over the last cpl seasons....people seem to forget that...we need to keep hold of him and others till we can replace them!

Agree1 Disagree4

I hate to say this but I agree with the above post until we have replaced Kalou and Malouda we need to keep hold of them.

Agree0 Disagree3

How does mata struggle with 90 mins?

Agree6 Disagree0

I know that Kalou is an extremely frustrating player at times - but I agree he is a fantastic super sub. If you look at his scoring record over the last few seasons - its far from shabby. Having someone on the bench who can grab you a goal and not complain when he is on the bench for the next game as well is invaluable.

Agree1 Disagree1

Where do you take it from? How is Kalou content to sit on the bench and not complain? Why do you think he hasn't and in my opinion won't sign a new deal?

Agree0 Disagree0

Florent Malouda has served us well in previous seasons. But, his build up play is pedestrian at best, he no longer takes people on and can be incredibly selfish in front of goal failing to pick a better option time and time again. Perhaps I'm being harsh but he should not be playing. Selling him in January would not be a major loss, atleast on the pitch.

Ed, what possibility is it that cahill will be in a chelsea shirt on sunday? surely we ant let him play for bolton tomorrow therefore he will be cup tied?
PR {Ed018's Note - i don't think it'll be done in time for sundays match}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Owen Coyle confirmed that Cahill would not be playing in the FA Cup 3rd round regardless of the state of the transfer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Coyle said he'd be rested for the cup game. 'rested'...

Eds I'm unsure how contracts are renewed etc,but regarding drogba,who I think could still be valuable to us for two years as a squad player.My understanding is drogba is on £120k per week,is there any way he or the club would settle for two years on less money( 80k p/w).I would like him to stay,give Torres his chance for rest of season.If he's not up to it,then Malaga £30m sell him.Cavani,benzema or Gomez in the summer. {Ed018's Note - Drogba isn't going to settle for less money when other teams will pay him more.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I think Drogba will settle for less money. Otherwise he'd be off to China or practically any other club who is interested in him.

Obviously he has a strong desire to remain at Chelsea. {Ed002's Note - There is no option for a longer deal and less money.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Not quite what I meant ED002. I should have been clearer, was just stating that if a similar length deal was on offer at Chelsea I believe he would stay regardless of losing say £50k a week. {Ed002's Note - He wants to stay at Chelsea - money has nothing to do with it.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Exactly. Thanks for your continuing work, constantly accurate and by far the best source of information I have found with the added bonus of a sharp whit.

Thanks for your time. {Ed002's Note - Thanks. The situation with Drogba is very simple. He wants to stay at Chelsea and wants a two year deal. Chelsea want him to stay and there is a one year deal on the table. Chelsea would be open to offering a further one year deal next year if the circumstances are right.}

Don't hold me to this but a mate who works at the bookies says that 4 signings will be made this January; Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta, Milos Krasic (Loan) and Dzagoev. He also adds that summer targets are Neven Subotic, Joao Moutinho, Hulk and Seydou Doumbia as recommended by Drogba.
PLUS he tips putting a bet on Pato joining PSG

Stamford (New to the site)

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Id be happy with them players we need to buy to show support from the club for avb if they want him to stay . ithink long term he can become a great manager for us

matt

Agree3 Disagree2

Would be good if these happened just can't see it chelsea are the not the force in the transfer market they once were

Agree2 Disagree8

All them players would be really good but I'm not convinced, ed what u thinking {Ed018's Note - im thinking what am i gonna have for dinner. obviously we have had interest in most of the players listed on the original post but i can't say whats gonna actually happen this monthor in the summer. things change all the time}

Agree3 Disagree0

Them and everybody else wants these players but only man city could afford them and pay them not bulls**t just on realistic

Hi ed Demba Ba looks to be an excellent striker with premiership pedigree have Chelsea shown any interest? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Ba certainly looks a handful for defenders and has already scored a hatful in the PL for two clubs now. Ba, Dembele, Tiote (depending on assessment of Essien's long term prospects) and Kyle Walker would be great January buys. But probably no interest in any of them, as doubtless legendary Ed002 would confirm (though there have been paper-talk links with Tiote)? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know where the links with Tiote came from - possibly his agent hunting a better contract. Ba has problems with his knees that have seen medicals fail on the mainland and, over the summer, at Stoke. Walker looks an excellent prospect but Chelsea have interest elsewhere at right back.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ba would be pointless this jan as he will be off for african nations, if he does well and doesnt get injured im sure he will go in the summer, he isnt really a loyal player and will want big wages no doubt, but then again if he bangs in 40 goals this year for newcastle he will take 40 years to score for chelsea

hi ed,

just one question,

In January how much do Chelsea look at whether a player is cup tied or not, when making an enquiry or trying to pursue a player?

thank you. {Ed002's Note - It will make no difference.}

ED002: Fernando from Porto is a defensive sided midfielder from Porto, who we keep our interest in. With imminent return of Essien, emergence of Oriol and presence of Obi, it would kind of suggest, that the senior two must not be in our long term plans. Obvious Essien can play anywhere in the midfield if he is ever to recover, but putting this aside do you think we will add to defensive side of our midfield? And possibly let Obi go? {Ed002's Note - Obi may well go but don't see Fernando as simply a defensive midfield player. He is certainly an entirely different player to John Obi.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Ed have u seen fernando play alot then {Ed002's Note - A few times, I cannot say how many.}

Ed. Any latest news about our targets {Ed002's Note - There was another meeting over Cahill yesterday - I expect it will be sorted out over the next few days or so.}

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Coyle has come out and said it should be done by the weekend. I'd play Cahill at CB with Terry and Luiz at RB unless we buy another RB.

Agree4 Disagree0

So you are saying you will play Luiz at RB ahead of Ivanovic? In my own opinion Ivanovic is one of the best Defenders in Our team. I think i prefer to paly luiz in DM sometimes. Same as CB

Agree6 Disagree0

Wouldn't it be wise to rotate three CB's then gentelmen? We are into a 50-60 games season here and were quite lucky with injuries.

Agree1 Disagree0

Lucky are best player is out again essien best midfielder in england if not the world

Hi Ed, i was just wondering if there was any news on whether we are still looking at the Barca youngster Sergi Roberto? I know there was interest earlier and i was just wondering if we were looking to maybe bring him in in Jan? {Ed002's Note - There has been interest and that is all I know.}
