Ed are we interested in seydou doumbia as it was rumoured that he went to cska moscow to get ready for chelsea and about a week ago his agent was quoted as saying "he will try win the uefa cup with cska then he will go to chelsea" and he is a big drogba and chelsea fan {ed's note - it is rumoured Chelsea are very interested, but it is difficult to tell if it is just his agent bigging up the move or not.}

Is roman abramovichor, restructuring is to allow Chelsea to be able to spend more. It is a simple way of getting round the financial fair play ruling by moving the debt onto a different company.with the russia world cup bid ?

What are you talking about? We have been receiving loans through Roman, through Chelsea Ltd since 2003, nothing has changed, there is no way around the Fair play ruling and Roman has no intention of finding a way around the ruling, Roman himself wants to stop spending. Chelsea will be playing fair, this is why we are making cutbacks and trimming the squad. This is why we are trying to get extra sponsorships and this is why we employed Ron Gourlay.

Chelsea Football Club is going to play fair, even if we didn't the ruling is almost air tight. Its time we stopped relying on Roman, he is not going to be around for ever. Even if he is, his money won't be. We have fabulous youth, lets get behind them.

{Editor's Note: As I said further down the page, it depends on the contract negotiations with Bosingwa and Ivanovich. There is a chance that if Ivanovich and the club cannot agree to him signing a new contract that he will be sold, perhaps to Bayern Munich or Inter Milan, in January. This will scupper plans for a move for a right back and Chelsea will likely make a move for a specialist centre back. Somehow I doubt it will be Mr Jones.}

So Ed, lets say that Ivannovic and Bosingwa signs new deals, we won't spend in January.

{Editor's Note: That is not what I said. A decision has to be made about a new right back in any case. I also would not be at all shocked to see another player come in.}

Chelsea needs to spend on a center back in January. The reason is simple. Alex just undergone knee surgery and Anchelotti ruled him out for six- eight weeks which is around two months so that means he'll probably be back after January. We only have two experienced and quality center backs at the moment and young Bruma who we seem not to trust. So if Ivannovic gets injured now there will be further problems defensively. So Chelsea should either put some faith in Bruma and give some game time in the upcoming month or sign a decent center back to add cover to our leaky defense. I would say go for Phil Jones of Blackburn but considering he's so young and doing great with the game time at Blackburn. Probably Newcastle's Steven Taylor. He is available on free at the end of the season and will be cheap in January he's also young and is good defender. What's your thoughts Ed?

Chelsea Rumours
Chelsea have turned to Ajax hitman Luis Suarez to get them some goals. Since Drogba, Anelka and Malouda are not scoring efficiently Anchelotti has decided to make a move for the talented Uruguayan striker for a possible January move. His price tag is set at 25mil pounds but considering Ajax's financial problems, Chelsea will look to get him 25% cheaper. Any truth to this Ed?

{Editor's Note: Chelsea have shown no interest in the player to my knowledge.}

Hey Ed, if Chelsea were to sign a defender in January, who do you think it will be?

{Editor's Note: It is not a simple question as it is entirely dependent on needing a right back, a centre back, or cover for both. So watch out for contract discussions (Ivanovic, Bosingwa, Alves at Barcelona - or maybe Manchester City, etc.). Too many variables at this time.}
