Chelsea have agreed terms with Laurent Blanc, but are waiting to see if Maurizio Sarri can still conclude his ongoing dispute with Napoli.

Although terms have been agreed with Blanc, he is still very much considered Plan B behind Maurizio Sarri (Sportitalia)

I couldn't care less about the managerial situation anymore. It happens when it happens.

Laurent Blanc will probably end up with the job due to our reluctance of paying the 7m for Sarri.

I really can't believe a club would go for plan B due to the 7m. In this day and age and the amount clubs make from tv rights etc, it is a crime to go for Plan B due to ecomics.

Personally, if I had a list then Blanc would Be right at the bottom which explains why no other big or medium clubs ever considered him for vacant jobs which explains his almost 3 years absence.

I cannot understand the Sarri situation. Here is a manager with a 38% win record until her joined Napoli who already had a decent team and as much as they play attractive football, Sarri has never won a team trophy of any kind. Blanc wanted to take a sabbatical after PSG and he has a 60%+ win record overall and won umpteen trophies with both clubs he managed. I also do not believe they would agree terms with Blanc just in case Sarri falls through.

Yes c1955 not exactly filling Blanc with much confidence if of course the reports are true. Telling him we don't really want you but just in case all else fails.

It's a cut throat business but that would not look good at a time when Chelsea's managerial track record is under the spotlight. Personally Blanc wouldn't have crossed my mind and certainly not Sarri but to me Blanc would attract the better players because of his playing and managerial record.

I have to disagree unfortunately, Your comparing a manager who managed Bordeaux who were at the time one of the main teams in France, a manager who managed PSG who are destined to win the league every year against a manager who got his first top job at Napoli and has made them the 2nd best team in Italy behind Juventus and I see no shame in that.

If Sarri is given the opportunity to manage a big team like Chelsea then we will learn a lot more about him. For a starters he plays better football, and will attract players who want to play possession based football. Blanc is a cheap mans Jose Mourinho. Our philosophy will remain the same under Blanc, maybe worse off.

Anyway the club know what they are doing, not filling anyone with hope ATM.

Sarri now one of the favourites for the Real Madrid job.

CFCShak: This is why we have the forum, it's about differing opinions. At the end of the day if they appointed Sarri I would still get behind him, itching for him to make mistakes naturally but if we win and play well I am sure we would all be happy and ready for Lampard's eventual arrival!

It's funny how Madrid won't even consider Blanc as an option.

What other jobs in 3 years has blanc been linked to., says it all,

Exactly, no top teams even consider him as an option. Not even mid range teams. I generally would be so dissapointed with Blanc, I would rather we sort things out with Conte.
