Just read it on www.footiz.com (French Football Website) - Was tweeted on a Eden Hazard Fan Account.

Chelsea willing to break the bank for Andre Schurrle, up to £30 million.

Just a rumour, but would be lovely if it were true.

Is not and never will be worth £30mill

I don't know if you can say never will be but he is definitely not worth that at the moment. I suppose though it is a case of how desperate we are as there is a real lack of quality strikers that are available and those that are have staggering price tags.

Although we have plenty of them, I still think we need another holding midfielder. We have Mikel, Essien, Mcheachran, Lamps and perhaps Ramires (if needed). But with Sahin put up for sale by Madrid and the asking price 15mil (not much for a player who is that young and has that much potential) it seems like a good purchase for Chelsea. What troubles me is that Madrid have only had him for one season. So either he is playing poorly for them, or he is not being used. Hopefully it is the second one. I have also heard good things about Ikay Gundagon. So if there was ever a time to buy a good, young holding midfielder it is now.

I agree with BLUEBOY. If we were to play Ramires in the centre with Oscar we would have a much faster transition from defence to offence.

Wow, people have short memories. Ramires was distinctly average before RDM converted him to a right-winger. He was a key part of our squad on that flank for the last 3 months, and if he wasn't playing there, he wouldn't have got those goals against Liverpool and Barca that helped us win the Champions League

Ramires, distinctly average before RDM...are you for real?! He was by far our most influential midfielder when he played as one of three in the middle. Against Barca, he was playing as an emergency RB btw.

Even if he was average, average is better than what we currently have.

I've been trumpeting the Oscar/Ramires combination for a while. It's at least worth trying.

On a side note, I'm also pretty sure someone has copied and pasted my own post and used it as their own above.

Aha IB i hadn't realised you were trumpeting the Oscar/Ramires combo. Whilst I think it is a good idea I doubt that it will be implemented. With Essien, Mikel, Lampard, Romeu, Meireles, Oscar, Ramires and McEachran all able to play in those positions i see Ramires and Oscar played in more forward roles. Even if McEachran went on loan and Meireles was sold, there would still be 6 players competing for the 2 starting slots. Whereas for the front 3 AM there would only be Marin, Mata, Hazard, Moses and then Oscar and Rami. (along with Malouda and Kakuta, both of whom I'd expect to leave) Logic would dictate that one would possibly play in the CM role and the other in a more forward role if not both of them.

Gotta say after watching all the Brazilian games I am impressed with Damiao. Scored about 4, maybe more. I didn't really rate him before the Olympics, (probably because I had never seen him play) and thought what the hell is Pato not in the first team for. But after watching him play you can see why. He is strong, quite pacy, tall and a brilliant finisher. Everything Chelsea need with the Striker they're aiming for. I would imagine he would be cheaper than Cavani (about 25mil) and I think he played much better than him at the Olympics. With Oscar trying to persuade Neymar to come to Chelsea hopefully he can work his magic on Damiao.

Me too, i was impressed, although it would be lovely to have a team full of brazilians i dunno if we have too many as it is, saying that, theres no decent english talent about, except david platt lol

Haha I was hoping that as well. The full Brazilian team would be awesome. Neymar, Pato, Damiao, Lucas, Oscar etc. We would be unstoppable for at least 10 years because they are all so young and talented.

I think Damiao would be the perfect striker to compete with Torres. Would Internacional sell their 2 best players in the same transfer window though?

ED02 previously you said that interest in Schurrle had gone for this summer as they were told he was not for sale but now we may make another bid what changed other targets that we wanted were not available? {Ed002's Note - There will probably be another bid made but don't try and complicate matters involving others.}

i think its gunha be essential for mata hazard marin oscar ramires to be our mids, instead of a holding mid dont let ivanovic attack so really on paper ivan, jt & luiz stay back when were atgacking so still 3 staying back

people need to understand if we sign cavani do you really think hes gunna score for fun? becausee i can tell you he aint with the way were playing. no striker will. not even drogba scored many last year. & im pretty sure torres scored the same as didi. so untill we play quicker football not a striker in the world is gunna score 15 plus a season. mikel & lampard dont match what we are trying to achieve. if were gunna need time to gel then gel mceachran into the team this year instead of wasting him. BLUEBOY1

The problem is not upfront it's from midfield back play is just to slow in these areas still some sorting out to do hate to say it but terry is just to slow now.
Also at this rate can't see Robbie keeping the job long

I have heard enough excuses for Torres and didnt he have our player of the year in Mata to help him last season?
Not only would Cavani score more goals he would contribute more to the overall team play.
Josh is way off the pace currently as was proved by his non appearance at Swansea.
Do you think Brendan wouldnt have used him more had he been upto the task?
He needs to find a level,probably the championship,where a manager will trust his currently erratic performances.
I dont see many clubs forming a queue for the privelege unlike with De Bruyne.

Mceachran erratic performances? What unlike Mikel? At least erratic is 10 times quicker at passing and moving than lampard

And let me guess ur a Mikel fan. Rogers blatantly used mceachran as back up and unlucky for josh they had no injuries and they played really well. Give josh the time because lamps, Mikel, meirelles, Essien are past their potential and nothing on josh anymore.

Cavani won't score many anyway cause he won't suit our style of play next season. Falcao would be better for us.

Regarding Mikel how many managers have used Mikel as there No1 holding player?
Among those managers were some of the most sucessful in the history of the game.
How many trophies have we won with Mikel?
And those that rubbish him no more than those people ?

Actually 3 of our 4 winning managers, mourinho, hiddink & ancelotti prefered essien.

Essien consistently ok, but never blinding and doesnt score, get rid of him and mikel

I wish people would stop going on about Mceachran and how you think he's worth a place in the team. He will never make it at Chelsea. Maybe we should loan him to Watford and Franco to see if he can make in impact in the championship first. Mireles is 3x the player and all of you seem to want rid...

Interest in Falcao and Higuan has waned but we still want to solveour striker issues top targets being Cavani and Hulk If the club are serious about buying a striker then why are they wasting there time trying to sign Cavani? Napoli will not let Cavani leave for less then £50 Mil did we not learn our lesson from Pastore.Sanzhez how hard italian ciubs presidents are hard to deal with? have we not been messed around enough with Porto over Hulk? We cannot go into the season with Torres and Sturrigde as our strikers they are just not good enough every other team has 2/3 great options in my opinion we will not sign Cavani or Hulk,A question for you ED002 if we do not sign either of those player who are the Alternatives or will then the club just stick with what we have who are the other options?
