Hi Ed, do we still have any interest in Benat of Betis? Thanks {Ed002's Note - Atletico Madrid, CSKA, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Fenerbahce, Arsenal, PSG and Wolfsburg have shown interest in Benat. Txiki Begiristain has, as reported, an interest in taking him to Manchester City. It is beginning to look like the summer would be a likely time for a move but I don't see a move to Chelsea at this time.}

Hi Ed, my friend is insisting Suarez will come to the bridge over the summer. Can you confirm that this is highly unlikely? Thanks
Matt {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

I don't rate Benzema. We have Lukaku who is far more hardworking.

Agree1 Disagree0

The only person that I want on that list is shaw. Isco is a good player but unnecessary with our current group. There's a few strikers I prefer to benzema. And there's better midfield options than khedira as well.

If you think Jose will be our manager next season, he most definitely will not bring Benzema with him.

As well as messi ronaldo pele and the other footballers I know

It's pretty much safe to say that the following managers are willing to take over Chelsea in the summer:
Jose Mourinho
Guus Hiddink
Fabio Capello
Gianfranco Zola
Gustavo Poyet
With David Moyes seemingly available if we are interested and Juventus Conte speaking of his desire to coach abroad, that is one hell of a selection headache, rather than a "who would want to manage Chelsea".

Guss Hiddink has retired

Agree0 Disagree0

No he hasn't, he's manager of Anzhi in Russia. He is in his late 60's though, so not really convinced he's a good option, despite him being a great coach. Appointing Hiddink would just mean that we'll be looking for another manager in a couple of years, although he could bring some much needed stability in the short term.

Franco and Gus are both Chelsea legends and up and coming managers with exciting futures ahead of them, but I'm not sure that they're ready for a top job quite yet. We mustn't let our emotional attachment for them blind the fact that they're probably not ready.

Capello has been a very good coach, but he's similar to Hiddink in that he's coming towards the end of his career and I'm not sure if he fits the Chelsea preferred profile of a younger, dynamic manager.

Jose would obviously be everyone's favourite, but it seems from comments on here that some person at the club thinks it might be a mistake.

Agree0 Disagree0

Really really wouldn't want cappello. His English is terrible and plays boring football but is disciplined. Hiddink has said he wants to retire after anzi's current season. Really think Jose is way to go. Get is back on top and after his usual 3 years move on

Agree0 Disagree0

If you read Guus quotes today you will see he is open to the Chelsea job if asked.
Whilst I would prefer Jose that might well prove difficult so Guus for 2/3 years with a younger manager would be a decent option.
The key for us to move forward is that RA trusts whoever he appoints to have a strong say over transfers which hasn't been the case since Jose.
Plus we need to give a few of our homegrown and on loan young players a chance to flourish.
This will take understanding from RA and a management team capable of nurturing them.
Remember Franco was manager of Italy U21 so maybe Guus & Frnco would be a good combo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gus and Franco might well be a good combo, but which one of them do you reckon would be content with being the No 2?

Agree0 Disagree0

Franco maybe if there was a plan for him to takeover in a couple of years?
Poyet said he would work under Jose for example but no one else.
Guus has a lot of respect in and knowledge of the game which Franco could benefit from I would think.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't forget klopp

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he meant Gus for 3-4 years and then Franco when he has got enough experience. that would be the best case according to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not sure that even Franco would swap a No 1 position with a Championship challenging side for a No 2 position at Chelsea.

Likewise Gus. He's doing a great job at Brighton, but he's not going to take an assistant job at Chelsea or anywhere else I doubt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Certainly Poyet said recently he would accept a N02 role but only with Jose who he thinks he would learn from.
Franco I don't know but maybe the same would apply.

Getting gus hiidink and gus poyet mixed up!

Agree0 Disagree0

How about Hiddink as Director of Football and Zola as manager?

I think out of these only Capello and Zola are real candidates all the others have great stable well payed jobs. they aren't going to come here and get fobbed off in a few months. Face it. Until Jose comes back, no one will do. Not for us. Not for Roman. Noone will match him, why do you think Roman cooled their feud.

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually think the Hiddink link has legs. Whilst it has been said that he'll retire at the end of the season, he recently said that he would be open to a return to Chelsea depending on his health. RM liked Hiddink and the only reason he didn't stay on was his prior commitments to the Russian national team. We could bring him in and have a younger manager work as his no2 for a couple of years.

Hi Ed, on tv Football it said that Juventus Manager, Conte, is interested in becoming Chelsea Boss. Do you see any truth in it? Thanks {Ed002's Note - I have no idea.}
