Whats the likeliness of us bidding for modric {Ed002's Note - Modric?}

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Who's he?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, modric

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, Modric who else?

Agree0 Disagree0

They already have made an initial statement of interest and im sure they have already disclosed a bid of around £32mil. Real Madrid have also shown interest but it is said that Modric has been told he isnt good enough for them and would struggle to get in the 1st 11. Looks like he could be at The Bridge in the next few weeks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Take it your new ,thats all youll get from ed when modric is mentioned...rayzor

Agree0 Disagree0

I love ed002. Comedic genius

Dave

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed 002 - luka modric is a footballer who plays for spurs, he was born in Yugoslavia, on the 9 th of September 1985, we are reportedly linked with him, and spurs former manager has stated in a interview to sky that they turned down bids from Chelsea, come on ed you should really use the search function, this subject is talked about daily lol. I was indoctrinated by Ed001 at Kings Cross back in the day - he offered me the chance to be special and to see Northampton Town home games. Cutes buns.}

do you thimk that we might sign alan dzagoev this summer because he said that he had already supported chelsea for four years now
thanks
matt {Ed002's Note - Dzagoev has interested Chelsea in the past but Arsenal have shown a lot of interest this past year including sending a contingent to watch him play in Moscow back last summer. He will be available on a free transfer at the end of the year, not in the summer, if CSKA cannot strike a new deal.}

Hell be a yiddo before end of this transfer market 10-15 mil maybe even less due too his contract

ED001 have you heard anything on any Chelsea's transfer plans any idea who may be coming in? {Ed001's Note - oooo, I wasn't expecting a question on the Chelsea site! I am all of a quiver now, I feel so special! Just wish I had something definite to say. The only thing I have heard was regarding a possible return for Glen Johnson, but I am not convinced there is any truth in that. I would have liked to have spoken to Ed002 and checked it.}

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Cheers ED001! do you think sturrigde wants out of Chelsea? {Ed001's Note - only if he doesn't get played regularly. He won't pass a medical with meningitis anyway, so he will almost certainly have no choice but to stay until January at least.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh yes just heard about that! do you know if the Maicon rumours are true or all rumours? {Ed002's Note - I was down in Maicon Gergia one time. Fun but scary. A little like my second wife.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Any truth is what ED01 said that we may be interested in Glen Johnson ED02? {Ed002's Note - I am not going to be played off against something another Ed says.}

That was a refreshingly cheerful post Ed01, cant you have a word with Ed02 and show him how to smile.

hey,Ed don't you think we still lack a "CREATIVE" midfielder??or a textbook playmaker?? {Ed018's Note - Hazard?}

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Thats why Chelsea are trying to sign Luka Modric.

Agree0 Disagree0

How many players do you think we will sign ed018? {Ed018's Note - 2-3 more}

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you think we will make another bid for moses ED? {Ed002's Note - Moses who?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on ed, he single handedly walked through the red sea last year, imagine what he could do in blue!

NP

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted this so that someone will come up with modric......there is certainly something fishy about modric or something we don't know......Ed002 you always keep us in the loop about modric as if you expect us to know something about him...but we really don't.

Ed, there seems to be no speculation on jetro willems yet hes only 18 and in the dutch national side. With Ashley Cole 32 this year do you think he could be Cole's replacement and do you think Chelsea will be interested? {Ed002's Note - Has looked nailed on for Old Trafford since March when the deal was brokered. And don't forget Bertrand and PvA.}

Believable4 Unbelievable7

Bertrand is much better than jetro

curt

Agree0 Disagree0

He was awful in the euros same with vdw

Agree0 Disagree0

We should stick pva I think he's beter than bertand

Agree0 Disagree0

Bertrand is better but im hoping we manage to secure luke shaws signiture i have a feeling it will be him rather then bertrand playing for LB in the england shirt when the time comes although to be honest bertrand is a great player to we dont need to waste time looking at anyone else

Ed, let me re-phrase this then. Is Angel Di Maria a realistic target? cheers {Ed002's Note - Only hypothetically, if the Hulk deal collapses.}

Believable7 Unbelievable11

03 Jul 2012 11:32:54
I know there are loads of rumours about Maicon, but he's 31 this year guys! I thought we wanted to get more youth into the team. Maicon isn't the guy we want!
Van der Wiel didn't impress at all during the Euros, so that may ruin our outlook on him. I think the one we really want is Cesar Azpilicueta. But we will see.
And I hope this Hulk issue will be solved within the next week or so, need him to be a chelsea player!

Believable12 Unbelievable4

Get real hulks a sulk he spends more time diving than his 30+million price tag deserves , micah richards young english and quality if were going to spend buy MOURA

Agree0 Disagree0

Zola and Gullit were 2 of our most influential signings ever and they were both no spring chickens. Im not saying Maicon will have anywhere near that impact but dont rule him out due to his age. He is still a monster of a player and has 2-3 top years still left in him. Around 6 mill on a 3 year deal on about 80k a week is decent business in my opinion
Chelsea Mole

Agree0 Disagree0

I disagree. He is no longer a beast of a player and £80 grand a week is a bit much to be back up to Iva, ie on the bench. Debuchy or Piszczek would be much better business in my eyes. MB

Agree0 Disagree0

Opinion respected mate, in my opinion he is still a exceptional right back but others will disagree. The amount of games however the team will be facing this year Ivanovic and Maicon will be rotated very reguarly so he wont be a backup. Ironically Debuchy will probably end up at Inter now
Chelsea Mole

Agree0 Disagree0

If we are indeed buying Maicon that would tell me we rate Todd Kane and would hope in 3 seasons he would be ready to play RB for us. Otherwise i dont understand the purchase, i havent seen him play for a season or 2 but what i remember Maicon was world class.

PB

Agree0 Disagree0

*sigh* ...... Iva has said that he is happy to COVER at RB, not to play there, so if Maicon did come to us he wouldn't be sat on the bench behind Iva, in my opinion. I'd tend to agree with PB if we were to sign Maicon, not seen much of Kane but heard alot of good things, maybe another year or 2 and he will be ready, that would make Maicon's signing more plausable. Either that or they are planning to bring in another RB, one we haven't heard about, who is also young and maybe not ready for permanent first team action and would share the role with Maicon, Iva as back-up for injuries or to make for a more solid/defensive back 4. Cesar is (I believe) our preferred target but he doesn't like the idea of playing in England, VdW hasnt impressed much recently, Debuchy is only linked with us now he had a good Euro tournament, City are unlikely to sell Richards at all, let alone to us. All in all, in my opinion, there aren't many options. Brininging in Maicon and allowing Kane to progress into the 1st team over the next 2 years may not be such a bad idea. Providing that Maicon still has the talent and Kane has the potential to become our RB.

All of this is, of course, hypothetical ;)

PieZ

Agree0 Disagree0

Gareth bale turned maicon inside out when spurs played inter not so long ago , he would be a good second choice for right back position but we need some1 younger and hungry for success , cesar would be my only choice ...

Agree0 Disagree0

*sigh*.... First of all Ivanovic never stated he wanted to play at CB; his agent did. Secondly what was said was that Iva's natural position was CB; nothing to suggest he doesn't enjoy playing at RB. His agent was cleverly reminding the club of Iva s natural position to ensure that he doesn't get overlooked at CB for both club and country especially after Vidic's national retirement. Everyone knows how professional Iva is anyway. MB

Agree0 Disagree0

Piszczek would be the clubs best option . The lad is better than Maicon defensively plus better going forward. He would be hungry coming to the club as the eastern Europeans always are, plus wouldn't be a problem on the bench if he wasnt preffered at right back, whereas I think Maicon has a bigger ego and could cause distribution if sat on the bench. I think Pizczsek could also be more than able of playing right wing for us if needed; just look at him on YouTube if u don't believe me. He would be a more affordable option than our other right wing targets plus naturally a right back. MV

Agree0 Disagree0

My point was that everyone talks about Iva as our 1st choice right back, given the players we're linked with I don't see it, neither do I see him as a first choice CB, he'll no doubt switch between the 2 as he has done for a while, regardless of what his agent may say. 'IF' Maicon was signed it would only be as a RB, and would probably play that position more than Iva, assuming we don't either sign another RB or promote a youth player. As I said all hypothetical, and just my opinion.

Hey Guys,

To those who are wondering, basically what I said was true. The fee for Hulk has been agreed by principle. But the problem is Porto owns 90% of Hulk's playing rights and the other 10% is owned by another company. Now the issue is Porto dont wont to buy the 10% themselves so they can sell the rest to Chelsea. Consequently thats why they want Chelsea to pay for the additional 10% of Hulks playing rights, which they are reluctant to do.Samir

Believable9 Unbelievable8

Samir, you said that Hulk had signed which is categorically not true. Wait until any official announcement rather than guessing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, Chelsea have bought the 90% of Hulk. So technically they now "own" the majority of the player's rights. It is just the other 10% that is disputed. It is only a matter of time though!

Samir

Agree0 Disagree0

So in other words Hulk wil BE at chelsea next season?

Agree0 Disagree0

Of which technically they will enforce another transfer embargo on themselfs ala for failing to buy 100% of the player. but correct me if i am wrong if a player is not 100% owned by the club and an offer has been made then the club need to buy out the third party for any english club to buy the player... i understand where you are coming from samir but the club cant ask for more money to buy out the third party {Ed002's Note - Rubbish.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats EXACTLY what Porto are doing! Thats the heart of the dispute! Porto want to Chelsea to buy back the remaining 10%, whilst Chelsea want Porto to buy back the remaining 10%! But dont worry, it will be resolved eventually.

Samir

Is this true ed {Ed002's Note - Is what true?}

Rumor has it that Edinson Cavani has been in talks with Chelsea FC since January. The negotiations stalled until Napoli showed interest first in Ivanovic who stated he has no intention of leaving and then turned towards Meireles after an impressive outing with Portugal. Levazzi's departure leaves room for the player plus cash transfer which could be around £8million for Meireles plus £35mil for Cavani totalling a fee of £43mil to Chelsea leaving Napoli £59mil to look for new additions and a replacement for Cavani. Negotiations will start to commence now Euro 2012 is finished and Meireles has had chance to talk to Napoli.

Believable11 Unbelievable8

Napoli have priced cavani at 70 mill

curt

Agree0 Disagree0

No he's £40 mil. MB

Agree0 Disagree0

3 factors why this transfer is very possible.
1.Napoli failed to qualify for the Champions League.
2.Cavani is unhappy with the sale of Levazzi.
3.Cavani has been quoted in saying he would like a move to Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

Imagine that strike force. If Torres plays as good as he can along side Cavani with Hazard sat behind them. Could use a 4-3-3 system with Lamps/Modric in the center, Mata and Marin on the wings or Ramires on the right. De Bruyne is a skillful left sided midfielder too, would like to see Micah Richards play at right back, we would be proper deadly to any team.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need cavani big time

Agree0 Disagree0

Cavani is the ideal player to replace Drogba, he has so many qualities that Chelsea cant ignore. When he played against us over 2 legs in the Champs league, he broke our offside trap many times and created lots of chances for Napoli, at Stamford Bridge he put a real good shift in, always at both ends of the pitch doing attacking and defensive work and never really seemed to get tired and never gave up. I could see him fitting in well next to Torres and Hazard would be the perfect player to set up through balls for them both. I wouldnt bother with Hulk, seems too expensive and more often than not has average performances.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have no idea if Sky Italia and sky sports news is linked. All i know is Sky Italia broke the news at the weekend that the 2 clubs were in talks, no agreement in place at this stage. I posted last night a fee has been agreed, backed up by a storys dated today 3rd July in pretty much all the Italian sports papers. English press usually dont get the early news, deals for Mata, Marin and Hazard the English media had no clue. The deal is happening, by all means shoot me down if u like
