ED is there any way Chelsea could possibly Use Courtois in a deal for Falcao? {Ed018's Note - i don't think so, and my opinion is it would be a very poor decision to do so unless Courtois wishes to leave Chelsea}

Believable8 Unbelievable3

I agree. Hardest position to buy for is a top class goal keeper and we have one do I would rather pay the extra money for falcao snake to cortious

Now the transfer window is closed, I assume some posters will drive the Eds bonkers with repetitive questions about the next manager etc.

Lets just stick with what we need to do now. aim for a top 4 finish. The team is knackered after so many games and travelling etc. On top of that, their confidence is shot to pieces, that's why we can't hold onto leads. Not sure Benitez's strange and often way too late substitutions help. Any cup won this season would be a huge bonus. But a top 4 finish is the priority.

Then we can worry about a new manager. Hopefully the Special One will return but that may well remain a pipe dream.

New players? Its well known that we want the likes of Falcao, Isco and Fellaini. If we can get them, great. Some kids will return from loans, so let's put some of the maturing ones into the squad and look towards the future together with some optimism. Come on The Chels.

PS - Great work Eds, we appreciate it.

The first concern is finishing Top 4 which is by no means certain under the current regime.
Benitez wrecked Inter in 3/4 months and he seems ahead of schedule with us.
Very worrying situation which I can't see the club tolerating much longer.

My fear is that if arsenal get their act together then we will not finish in the top 4 this would then change our spending plan and manager targets for the following season

ED002 Do you see Chelsea spending big in the summer?
Thanks, Lucca {Ed002's Note - "Big" is an entirely subjective term.}

To put it the other way, will the spend over say 100 million ED?
Lucca {Ed002's Note - I have no interest in talking about teh money - but the club has players that it is interested in and will do what they can. It would be reasonable to expect a decent amount to be spent.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont you guys always spend BIG!

ED are there any teams interested in kevin strootman, I think he would be just the man our midfield would need.
Johnnycfc {Ed002's Note - He will move to either Manchester United or AC Milan in the summer.}

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Shame, it would be nice if Chelsea got a good deal for a player like this, were a club who has been paying over the odds for a decade.

Ed any update on BA, s injury will he be available to play against Wigan {Ed002's Note - No injuries would be assessed until at least a couple of days after a game. If it is simply a broken nose it won't be long.}

Hi Ed002. What are the expectations of any permanent manager at Chelsea FC on a season to season basis? I ask because some very good, experienced managers have been moved on even after winning trophies. Thank You in advance. {Ed002's Note - Managers have left for various reasons over the years. If it is not working out they nbeed to go. It is no different to cutting out a bad bit of an apple.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Ed 002 Based on that criteria wouldn't the club be looking at options to replace Benitez?
S. S. {Ed002's Note - I have said I have have no interest in discussing the matter right now.}

How big "a bad bit of an apple" was Mourinho?
Lord Lucan {Ed002's Note - I assume you don't know the details of his departure and there is no point discussing it.}

Ed002 Was it you who broke the news about Carlo on here well before the official announcement.
S. S. {Ed002's Note - It was decided between Christmas and New Year 2010 that he would be leaving at teh end of the season. I explained then that was the case.}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

? do you mean 2011? {Ed002's Note - No, he left in 2011.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow. That's such a weird timing. So we had not yet played CL quater finals at the time the decision was made. That is before Torres has arrived at the Bridge, as well. We were playing the best football of a decade under Ancelotti. I'm finding it hard to comprehend.

So I've conducted a test thing, about managers, here goes

KLOPP-dont hold breath
Hiddink-don't hold breath
Zola-don't hold breath
Mourinho-worth holding breath

Now I'm asking.

Is it worth holding your breath of Poyet being next Chelsea manager?

Thanks ed002

Billy {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath for Poyet? And you didn't mention Paul Furlong.}

Thanks ed002

Billy {Ed002's Note - He is contracted until the summer as I have explained on many occasions.}
