Yes club have said nothing planned in the forseeable future.
Cant see how it will ever add up given the complexity of the site.
The only way forward would be a new site outside the immediate area which is unlikely to be approved by the Pitch Owners.

As CPO I would vote, reluctantly, to leave The Bridge if a suitable and viable alternative could be found.

A suitable plan had been made for the current footprint. The club detailed the current financial climate for the reason why they postponed.

There's no doubt our owners current visa situation played a part, why spend so much on a stadium he can't attend.

Thats interesting and sensible position Tom but I am not sure if that is reflected by the majority of shareholders.
The cost of developing the stadium must be significantly north of £1 billion by now and it won't get any cheaper that's for sure.
Finding a site anywhere locally is tough unless we are prepared to move to Old Oak Common for example.

{Ed002's Note - That is not the issue.}

The current financial climate is a strange excuse given the cost of borrowing is so low.
Likewise I don't think RA situation is the deal breaker either.
The core reason is the complexity and cost of the development which is prohibitive and unlike any other stadium in the world.

{Ed002's Note - That is not the issue. Just move on.}

What is the issue Ed 002?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The issue that has caused the most problems is finding somewhere else to play - The FA rejected a request from Chelsea to play at Wembley and the RFU have twice rejected generous offers to play at Twickenham.}

Ed002
Do you think its a viable project given the escalating cost of the work, assuming a temporary venue could be found?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, at some point.}

Ed, do the FA have a particular reason why Chelsea can’t play there?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, it is potentially for sale.}
