Ed 022 has voiced a very honest but not at all flattering opinion to his profile of Eden Hazard, I was just wondering what your true opinion on the player is? {Ed018's Note - i haven't checked the profile but i'm assuming it makes mention of his attitude and what not. Hazard does have some growing up to do and hopefully that happens at Chelsea.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

ED018 would u say the deal is about 80% done? {Ed018's Note - I've got no idea on percentages. But to fully expect the deal to be agreed upon and for Hazard to sign July1st}

Hi ed, thanks for all your information on this site.
As are Bosingwa has now left the club,
I know our interest lies in Azpilicueta and Van Der Weil,
just wondering about Azpilicueta, have we approached Marseille about the player? and if so, do you think the price quoted will be too high for the club

thank you ed

KOE (Kings of Europe) {Ed002's Note - There have been a few discussions with Marseille since the turn of the year.}

What position do you see ivanovic playing in next season, if CB will he be ahead of cahill and luiz, Cheers {Ed002's Note - If he stays it will be as this year - a mix.}

30 May 2012 21:22:52
Ed, do you see Romelu Lukaku in chelseas future? Cheers {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

30 May 2012 20:49:42
Too many posts to try and read through so i will try and see if i am correct all in 1 post

1.Hazard-All but done deal should be done soon a few issues to sort out.

2.Hulk-Still a difference in valuation of the player around a £5-7 Mill difference at the moment.

3.Van der Wiel-Awaiting to see if Madrid follow up interest before we may make a move

4.If Hazard and Hulk were signed Ed would you still expect a striker to be signed? or is it the case signing Hulk would provide versatility as he can play anywhere from a striker to a winger?

Am i correct in my points ED?

BLUEBLOOD {Ed002's Note - (1) Correct; (2) Ignore the numbers, but correct; (3) No, but there may be a move for him; (4) A striker will still be signed - if the right one can be found.}

Hi ed
Is there any info about players leaving, I have heard of kalou to Southampton or malouda leaving also any comments there.

From ty :) {Ed002's Note - Drogba, Kalou, Bosingwas are gone. Others will follow.}

30 May 2012 20:31:10
For the right back position do the club have a preference between Azpilicueta or Van Der Wiel? And have they made any approach for either? {Ed002's Note - There has been long standing interest in VDW but his heart was set on Spain. Both have been discussed with their clubs.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

30 May 2012 20:22:49
hi eds, thanks for the reply earlier, do you have any names for the right back and striker, cheers. {Ed002's Note - The usual suspects.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

30 May 2012 19:52:35
The signing of Hulk would make selections quite difficult. What do you have to say ED? There will be a selection headache for the new manager.

....................Cech...................
Ivan/GVW.....Cahill/Luiz...Terry...Cole...
.....Ramires......Lampard........
Hulk............Hazard........Mata
..................Torres...............

-Haris?

Agreed? Have a say Eds. :) {Ed002's Note - I have no interest in picking teams - sorry.}

Believable9 Unbelievable0

It won't make selection difficult at all and i'm not buying into all this "Hulk will be brought as a replacement for Drogba" rubbish either. Hulk will be purchased with the aim to be deployed on the right wing where he has been playing for Porto so he will be a replacement for Kalou if anything. Only thing I will say is he is left footed, same as Mata, Malouda and Hazard (although he can play with his right very comfortably also) and if we add Modric to that were going to have a very left footed looking midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just to reply to the second poster, Eden Hazard is completely right footed but is able to use his left foot well.

Mesut Ozil, Angel Di Maria are both left footers and real madrid seem to be alright... Ozil - Mata / Di Maria - Hulk / Ronaldo - Hazard / Benzema - Torres

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2012 19:47:27
hi ed002 just curious if indeed it is true torres has been assured he is going to be the main striker next season, would that make bidding for the likes of cavani,falcao ect pointless, no chance you could assure him of 1st team football with the likes of them in the squad...also it can be quite harmfull for a striker not to be playing regualy and can affect his ability to score! as we saw last season with the constant rotation of torres and drogba, would there be a possibility of bidding for a lesser know striker to compete with nando? or possibly have sturridge as the number 2 striker in the central role he so craves?

thanks -jack- {Ed002's Note - He has a place in the squad if he wants it. He has a place in the tean as long as he performs.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

If Hazard and Hulk do join Chelsea Torres wont be short of quality service into him and if he can find the goal scoring touch he had 2/3 seasons ago then there is no reason why he cant get 20+ goals a season. Now that Drogba has left he will feel he is the number one striker which he wanted to be all along and this will hopefully give him the confidence and belief in himself to become a world class striker once more. AND if it doesnt work out and Chelsea do buy Hulk, stick him upfront instead. We will have many attacking players next season and wont be short on goals regardless who is upfront.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2012 19:24:31
Ed u say we are likley to sign a rb and striker
Which strikers are being looked at?

Carefree {Ed002's Note - As previously discussed - there is nothing new to add. There is interest in Cavani, Falcao, Jovetic et al.}

Is the theory that by bringing in Pep to be boss, he will blood the younger, more talented footballing players currently at the club & also the ones being currently brought in. He does have a record of doing this at barca, so if that's the case, it's looking good for the future. In recent years we have been blighted, by managers, who have been under pressure from day one & felt that they could only pick more experienced players, even if they were'nt good enough to be in our side. The likes of kalou, malouda, meireles, bosingwa & mikel, managed to get loads of games, but didn't deserve to be in the team. For the first time in a while, the signing's are looking good to us fans. Come on CHELSEA, lets start to dominate again. North Stand.

Believable7 Unbelievable4

If this is what he will do im all for him to get the job. would love mceachran, kakuta, piazon, bamford ,,,,,,,,,, to play, but if he aint thn dimatteo

Agree0 Disagree0

You obviously don't watch Chelsea games...

As Mikel has been immense the latter half of the season

Agree0 Disagree0

North stand? surely you mean Matthew Harding

Agree0 Disagree0

You obviously are an person if you think mikel is good enough, what a t**t.
Matthew Harding use to be called the north stand to us older fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mikel has not been immence, hes been an average defensive midfielder doin a job, nothing * immence * what so ever BLUEBOY1

Agree0 Disagree0

Mikel's best games came when we went more defensive, CL final a good example, when you have 2 banks of 4 close together for him to work inbetween he is fine, but if we want to play expansive, attacking football then he simply wont cut it, in my opinion, he has a good pass, but his tackling is clumsy at times and he lacks any sort of pace. He simply cant cover the pitch quick enough to be a good holding midfielder in an attacking team. Just my 2 cents.

PieZ

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmm i have to Agree mikel has shown an improvement on hsi performances in the latter half of the season, and proberly had his best game in a chelsea shirt in the CL final, However i still dont think he suits chelsea but that my opinion, i hope we follow through the intrest in fellani has i belive he would suit and is a better player in that role.

hey ed does fernando of porto have a release clause lik hulk has? or whats his price evaluation from porto if any cheers BLUEBOY1 {Ed002's Note - Ignore release/buy out clauses. Porto are hard nosed over transfers - and don't want to sell him.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Cheers ed mind you the amount of players weve had of them they must be pist off lol, would you say these clauses are keep away from our players or to hick up prices? cuz you see it mre and more often these days BLUEBOY1 {Ed002's Note - They really don't work as simply as folks think. Enforcability is an issue as well.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed it does seem that way huh BLUEBOY1 Still had soem good buys out of porto so its all good.

Hey Ed002, Thank you for the info concerning the hazard transfer yesterday its much appriciated,i presume chelsea will still be looking for a secondary striker to play behind torres even if hulk should make a move to the bridge. Have chelsea shown any intrest towards joselu or luuk de jong to forfill that role if so how substanial is the intrest ?

once again thank you in advance for taking the time to answer.

BlueBen. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea are looking for anothr striker - remember Anelka, Drogba and Kalou have left). Sturridge is making his case of course but do not be surprised to see another striker arrive.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Yes Cisse

Agree0 Disagree0

I higley Doubt cisse would even be considered due to the fact his price would be so high, and we want a secondary striker to play behind torres so he can play at his full potential Ba would be a bargain but im unsure of him at champion league standard however i think luuk de jong and joselu are both capable of providing the missing ingredient are both young and can be moulded to play in the new chelsea style.

Ed 002 Who is on the shortlist for the managers job other than Robbie ? Is Guardiola a realistic option and if not who is do you think?
Thankyou. {Ed002's Note - Guardiola is certainly an option.}

Hazard and Hulk to be presented to the media together in the week after the Belgium vs England game. It is believed Hazard will take Drogba's number with Hulk undecided at present. Hazard deal was done around a week ago but it is being kept quiet because the Hulk deal has been at about 90% done for around a week also and Chelsea want to make a big announcement to get some momentum behind "the squad overhaul".

It was going to be that Cech's new deal was announced at the same time but they are now considered separate matters - keeping Chelsea's elites on long contracts and buying brand new talent. {Ed002's Note - The transfers cannot be completed before July 1.}

Believable4 Unbelievable1

But they can be announced right? {Ed002's Note - You can announce that agreement has been reached for PLayer x to join, sure.}

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2012 17:10:42
ED002 Do you know when the Hazard issues may all be resolved? Is it possible still for another team to make a bid for him? {Ed002's Note - It'll be sorted out soon. I would not expect anyone else to bid. At least one club has turned its attentions elsewhere.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Has all the wages and fee all been agreed then ED is it a case of Dotting the i's and crossing the t's? {Ed002's Note - There are provisions of the deal that are incomplete at this time.}

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2012 16:16:12
Sky sports reporting than Chelsea close signing hulk. I know eds are better than sky sports somewhat can you add? {Ed002's Note - There is nothing to add - the situation remains a difference in the fee wanted and offered.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Is the money issue something in your opinion we can overcome ed?

30 May 2012 14:36:08
Ed, what positions can Marin play in and is it likely he'll be in the first team next season? {Ed002's Note - He will certainly play next season typically as a winger or an attacking midfielder.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 May 2012 14:18:10
Ed ,are there any central midfielders we are looking to sign?This is the position that needs the utmost attention.
roan {Ed002's Note - We will see better once the window opens, but interest remains in Fernando.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Utmost? More so than RB and RW where we have no natural players? Seems strange that you consider the midfield the weakest area when we have Ramires, Lamps and a revitalized Mikel all wanting to start there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol Totally agreed with the post here no way is cm our weakest position RW no longer becomes a problem when hulk and hazzard have signed RB and secondary striker are the most important positions RB more so has we still have good attacking options.

Hi Eds, I see a lot of people, particularly on the banter pages, referring to Fernando from Porto. Is there any realistic rumours to this guy or is it just fantasy football?

Hi Ed002, I apologise for going over old ground but I am confused over the Hazard Transfer saga. He seems to be saying a lot where as Lille and Chelsea say nothing which is making Me sceptical as to whether this deal is likely to come off. Can You confirm if Hazard wants to join Chelsea and more importantly do Chelsea want to sign Hazard? Have Chelsea had an offer accepted from Lille and has Hazard agreed personal terms with Chelsea? Thanks again Ed. {Ed002's Note - I have explained. No transfer can be completed until July 1 and not all of teh details are resolved.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Is this the same for hulk then {Ed002's Note - Is what the same?}

30 May 2012 11:16:34
Hey Ed, how serious is our interest in Schurle, could he be our backup striker next season. Do we have any interest in Javi Garcia and Martinez. Keep up the good work Eds.
Dastanj {Ed002's Note - here has been interest in Schurrle since last year and he may be an option still. Manchester United, Arsenal, AC Milan and Bayern Munich have certainly been looking at Javi Garcia but I suspected there may well be a push from Manchester City to take Garcia as a replacement for Nigel De Jong. However, Garcia has signed a new contract at Benfica making a move less likely and I suspect Manchester City will turn their attentions to Martinez.}

ED001 do you have any idea when the move for Hazard will be finalised reports say he will stay behind after the Belgium friendly and complete it? {Ed001's Note - I don't, I haven't got involved with any of the Hazard stories because I really can't stand his attitude. I hate the way he has whored himself to the media with personal press conferences on a regular basis. But, judging by other deals in the past, I would expect him to undergo a medical and complete the deal next week after the friendly.}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Well said Ed001 completely agree. Not sure about other Chelsea fans but he as a lot of performing to do on the pitch to win me over as his attitude is atrocious. {Ed001's Note - most people are only worried about how good a player looks on youareatube to be honest. But then they don't have to put up with barrages of questions every time he makes another twitter post!}

It seems that Chelsea are trying to sign our targets as soon as possible {Ed001's Note - 002 is not about I am afraid, there are loads of questions stacking up for him, so I will try and answer a few, to the best of my ability. From what I can gather, there are ongoing talks, I don't know of any bid, but I haven't spoken to 002 about it, so I could well be wrong. But usually a bid is one of the final steps.}

rumour has it real madrid are losing interest in moura which has boosted our chances of buying him hazard hulk and moura if we get all 3 players future looks promising for our club i think we should try hijack dani alves from city if its true there trying to sign him he might be 29 but doesnt change the fact hes the best right back in the world means we would have best right back best left back in the world and 4 quality centre backs in cahill luiz terry and ivanovic granted terrys not the defender he used to be (in my opinion best in the world) but hes still good enough and a great captain

Believable4 Unbelievable3

How exactly would Hulk Hazard Moura and Mata fit into the team when all of them will expect to be first team players?

Agree0 Disagree0

Three behind Torres, Ramires and Mata/Hazard playing the midfield roles, Very attacking but theoretically it would work. Not saying its a good idea, and every great team has a great squad, we cant just have 11 amazing players and a bench full of average players, we need depth and variety.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moura on the right and Hazard/Mata interchangeable between cam and the left. Torres and Hulk up front

Agree0 Disagree0

Lamps holding mid hulk mata moura then hazard sitting behind torres really not that hard to work out if you have a brain

Hi Ed,

Do we still hold an interest in Angel Di Maria?

He is a younger and cheaper option than Hulk and his vision and football brain is brilliant.

Prince {Ed018's Note - I'm not so sure Madrid would let Di Maria go for much cheaper than Hulk}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Yeah I wouldn't have thought so but in my opinion his clever way of playing the forward ball all the time is what is needed. Thanks Ed.

Hey ed, Chelsea are signing wingers, but have not signed a CM or attacking mid, do you think we need one and are we looking to buy one? If the rumours are true and bringing in a under 26 transfer policy who can fill this void? {Ed018's Note - Hazard, Mata, Marin are versatile enough to play anywhere in the attack. We have alot of center mids right now so i'm not to sure if one will be brought in}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why is everyone keep banging on about central midfielders all of the sudden. Fair enough Essien is not the player he was but that isn't a position we should be freting over. The club should be concentrating on a right-back if anything.

Just wondering about the JT court case and, if found guilty,how long the ban is likely to be and whether that has resultant implications on CB recruitment?
Thanks

Believable1 Unbelievable0

It is a criminal trial and the maximum punishment is a fine. The trial has nothing to do with the FA.

I cannot see how he could be banned from football as if found guilty he will have a criminal record (public order offense) but others such as Barton and King play after being convicted on serious charges (violence).

Presumably Chelsea could terminate his contract for bringing club int disrepute etc. but I don't see that happening.

Agree0 Disagree0

What ban? Its a civil court case and nowt to do with football anymore. He has been charged with a racially aggravated public order offence and to my knowledge the max fine is £2,500. Its all a load of nonsense and a complete waste of taxpayers money as far as I can see
