ED how much of an impact on transfers would it make if we didnt qualify for the champions league next year? {Ed002's Note - I rewally don't know. I would expect that there would be some impact.}

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Granted player's would want CL football but to miss it for one year would not be the end of the world surely some of our Champions league displays will have impressed some of these player's they would not get that at Tottenham or Arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

I personaly think it would be a hudge impact big player leave clubs all the time to chase the champions league dream with out it they will just pass by

Agree0 Disagree0

But even if we do not make it the club should still go all out for the preferred players that they wont this should be the year where we are transitioned also i think whoever the manager may be may impact on transfers if it's a top manager player's will come

Believable3 Unbelievable26

Marin is lol, i want azpilcueta i reckon 15m , maxi no thanks, cavani yes please depends on CL football, robben i dont want , ramirez would be a gd edition BLUEBOY1

Agree0 Disagree0

C.Azpilicueta (Most Likely)
M.Marin (Certain)
M.Rodriguez (No Chance)
E.Cavani (Possibly)
A.Robben (Possibly)
G.Ramirez (Not Likely)

Agree0 Disagree0

Azplicueta is a must buy I think but we need to to qualify for CL, E.Cavani and Robben I think there is no chance! maybe G.Ramirez but I don't rate him too much, my selected transfers would be spanish guys Lorente or Soldado and Alba + Navas

Agree0 Disagree0

18m for Robben? Hilarious.

Agree0 Disagree0

Robben has 1 more year of contract so 15-18 mil euros is possible price. He is one best players in the world 28 + he might consider rejoining cfc.

One wonders where ‘interim’ boss Roberto Di Matteo fits into all of this. Surely he’s done enough to prove he is worthy of taking the job on a permanent basis but perhaps Avram Grant felt the same after he guided Chelsea to a Champions League final and a runners-up spot in the Premier League.
Of the three named only Pep Guardiola is currently out of work but given that the Spaniard has cited ‘needing a break’ as the main reason he left the Nou Camp any move to take over at a new club in the next year would not go down all that well with his former club and the Barcelona fans as a whole.
Harry Redknapp may be amenable to such a move if Tottenham fail to secure a Champions League spot for next season and the former Portsmouth and Southampton manager clearly would have no qualms about making a contentious switch from White Hart Lane to Stamford Bridge.
Jose Mourinho’s return to the Blues would seem the least likely given the successful campaign Real Madrid are having.

What are your thoughts on this Ed?
Chelsea fans, who do you want to see named as a permanent successor to Andre Villas-Boas?

KTBFFH {Ed002's Note - I have no thoughts on this.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I have heard that Morinho is coming back to chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

No disrespect to guardiola but personally he wont be anywhere near top choice for me. the main reason for me being is that his style would take a long time in impliment at our club and would require just about every member of our squad having to leave because they just dont play that style. the other reason is personally i dont rate him as highly as anyone else seems to, my opinion is that he's built a team to revolve around 1 player and regardless of the world class squad he has he cant seem to manage without him. 8 wins in 22 games without messi playing doesnt sound like a manager who has any other tactic than his 'give messi the ball' style of football

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love to see H.Redknapp in charge but I think it is impossible same as Mourihno. I think Everton manager would be a good shout if we didn't qualify for champs league as I think he can build our team up!

Chelsea have reportedly been alerted by the news that Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben is ready to quit the Bundesliga club following a row with team-mate Franck Ribery. The 28 year old Dutch international had been stalling on a new deal for some time and was subsequently linked with a myriad of interested parties and with just over a year to run on his current deal, the Bundesliga side may be forced to consider offers for the wide-man.
Robben was a big success during his previous stint at Stamford Bridge, notching up 19 goals in 105 appearances for the Blues and picking up two Premier League titles in the process before he left for an unsuccessful spell at Real Madrid. A move to Bayern Munich helped resurrect a career that was stagnating at the Bernabeu but now a move away from the Bavarian club could be on the cards.
Chelsea are looking to bring fresh attacking options to the club and given that Florent Malouda is likely to be offloaded this summer having played only a bit part player role this term coupled with the fact that Salomon Kalou and Didier Drogba will be both be out of contact at the end of the season, has left Roman Abramovich looking to bring in a ‘marquee’ signing or two.
Abramovich is keen to flex his financial muscle and whether Roberto Di Matteo is confirmed as a permanent successor to Andre Villa-Boas may not be relevant to the club’s transfer intentions. The Italian already confirmed this to be the case when he revealed that he was not involved in the decision making process that led to the signing of Marko Marin last week.
Given that Daniel Sturridge has stated his preference to play in a central striking role a move for Arjen Robben could prove all the more relevant and Chelsea are more than capable of meeting any asking price for the Bayern Munich man and are reportedly willing to offer a pay packet in excess of what his side currently afford him.

What are your thoughts on this ed?
Could it happen?

KTBFFH {Ed002's Note - An advisor to Chelsea was asked a couple of days back of the club would be interested in Robben - and that message has been passed to the club.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Rather we should sign the young players... we should go for hazard,neymar,moura etc

Roberto Mancini is reportedly ready to use troublesome striker Mario Balotelli to help lure Daniel Sturridge away from Stamford Bridge and back to the Etihad Stadium. The Blues forward has had a successful season at the West London club this term but has not been happy about plying his trade in a wide role and could be tempted by a move back to Man City.
The 22 year old England international left Man City in July 2009, six months prior to Mancini’s arrival as a replacement for Markt Hughes and the Italian is thought to be a big admirer of the young forward, who may well star at the Euro 2012 finals this summer.
Mario Balotelli has been a disruptive influence for Man City this term and Roberto Mancini has run out of patience in the former Inter Milan man and is looking to use the young striker as a bargaining chip in his advance to snap up Sturridge.
Whilst Chelsea are riding high on a wave of good results under caretaker boss Roberto Di Matteo, Blues owner Roman Abramovich may well still be looking to bring in a high profile long term replacement for Andre Villas-Boas and as such the futures of some players may well uncertain and a number of players may be vulnerable to possible approaches.
Mancini is looking to freshen up his attacking options this summer and is likely to listen to offers for Edin Dzeko, Carlos Tevez and the aforementioned Balotelli and sees Sturridge as the type of adaptable attacker who can be a force for many seasons to come.
For their part Chelsea may also have a fair bit of transfer action involving the forward options given that both Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou are out of contract come the summer and could well consider offers for Romelu Lukaku who is yet to break into the first team on a regular basis.
Mancini will seek to make any such swap deal a straightforward one without looking to bring cash incentives into the equation.

What are your thoughts on this Ed?
Could it happen Ed
KTBFFH {Ed002's Note - I really don't know, sorry. If it were a straight exchange and the players agreed then, depending on who the manager is at Chelsea, it may be possible.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

And how would Sturridge start up front instead of aguero?
Trout {Ed002's Note - Clubs have a squad of players. If Balotelli leaves there will be a vacancy.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I would take balloteli for sturidge Easily!

Hi Ed, I know that its been stated several times about nothing happening with Neymar until after the olympics...but i was wondering if at that point chelsea are likely to hold an interest in the player? He doesnt seem to have an attitude that would sit well with Jose, Im not sure if Pep leaving would change anything with Barca and seemingly City will land Hazard. So IF we wanted him and he was willing to leave Brazil perhaps we would be back in with a shout. But my question remains as to whether Chelsea still hold an interest in the player? {Ed002's Note - I don't really want to get drawn in to making any further comments on Neymar but I would probably not hold your breath over him moving to Chelsea.}

Hi ED i would like to know if we have any interest in Demba Ba or Thomas Muller? {Ed002's Note - No and Cheslea made an approach for TM after the last world cup - and that was rejected.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Did we, do u reckon we will try for him again? Would we have intrest in ozil if he become available ed? {Ed002's Note - Manchester United, Lazio and Chelsea failed with bids after the world cup. I don't see him being available this summer. I don't see Oezil necessarily being available in the summer but Liverpool and Manchester United may well be interested if he is - but Champions League qualification being achieved may be a pre-requisite for any move he makes. I am sure that there would be plenty of interest from elsewhere, not least Inter Milan who bid against Madrid to buy him originally, and Juventus. Whilst he had what was seen as a very good season last year, this season has been patchy at best with a lot of time on the bench. Real Madrid may listen to offers in the region of 25M euros or so. I doubt if Chelsea would be interested.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think ozil would be a fantastic buy for chelsea!

Arsenal fan here,

As much as i hate Chelsea, I have to give credit where it is due, Marko Marin is a fantastic signing and for 7 mil he is a BARGAIN.

For those of you that might not know much about him, he is a very skilled winger with a lot of dribbling and passing abilty, speed and vision and i can't wait to see him in the EPL.

And also well done on making the CL, i hope you lose but still, well done.

Cheers,

Nick.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Why do you hope we lose?!

I hate how supporters don't support other English clubs. I supported Arsenal against Barca the other year. It's ridiculous

Has AVB agreed to join Roma next year ed? Also do you know if hazard was preset at the manchester derby ? {Ed002's Note - He may well take over at Roma; yes Hazard was in Manchester.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Chelsea are not getting hazard! As much as i would love to see him here!

Agree0 Disagree0

Is a move to Man city a more likely now ED? they seemed to have upped there interest in the player? {Ed002's Note - Yes, certainly more likely than it was.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Was it to talk purely with City Ed or do you think United would have talked to him as well?

rpc {Ed002's Note - I have never said that the player has spoken to either club.}

Looks like Chelsea are going to approach everton about Fellaini, if they do they should save their money and part ex one of our older stars. As like with any used car, I'm sure any of Chelsea's old or bald stars would become evertons pride and joy! In this case one mans junk is another mans treasure. Not slagging anyone off, but some of our older players could easily be first team players for a mid table team. I read yesterday of a potential switch for robben, hope that doesn't happen, sturidge will come good next season I'm sure. This is his first full season in the first team and ge has made a impact. We need to get another player in his prime to replace Essien, and bossingwa. After that we just need pace and creativity. Hope tonight Torres is like a Spanish bull in a china shop, tearing the Toons defence to pieces.
Ed what do you think Josh will go back on loan next year, due to his lack of game time this season? If so I think Wigan would be a good option ( if they stay up ) as they seem to be good at developing younger players.

Cheers Dan J {Ed002's Note - There is no point in me guessing what will happen with McEachran but another loan may be an option.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Just can't see Fellaini playing in a Chelsea shirt next season..

Ed, Have Psg made a bid for Hulk?

Scruffy {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of a bid having been made but PSG have an interest in Hulk.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

They have but it hasnt met the release clause

Do these fair play rules apply to PSG or can they just spend massive and buy all the big names that are willing to come to them? {Ed002's Note - I would not worry abot the FFP rules just yet.}

Ed, guillem balague just said that nuri sahin has been transfer listed. Is there any truth to this and do you think chelsea would look to sign him? Thanks {Ed002's Note - Sahin has had injury problems this year but rumours do persist about his long term future. If he were to leave I would very much suspect a move to Italy (possibly with Juventus) or a return to Germany would come before any thoughts of a move to England. Malaga also spoke to Madrid about the possibility of a loan.}
