Ed002, tried the search function but couldn't find anything newer than 2015. Do we hold any interest in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach to Arsenal at this time.}

Thanks Ed002.

Whats the go with the Sanches deal? Bayern were actively shopping him for loan deals, we understand Conte asked Uncle Carlo about him, and it was looking like either us or AC Milan and then BANG Carlo says he's staying until the end of the window.
Have they just flat out changed their mind about loaning him out?
Maybe no one was prepared to do a loan without an option to buy and Bayerns decided no loan at all then?

James Rodriguez injured and Thiago, leaves them short so doubtful now, although Bayern fans did get on his back for performance v Liverpool, apparently he was terrible.

With all this negativity I'd like to share my opinion. We are supposedly close to a deal with inter for Candreva, for $23 million that'll be a decent deal for an Italian international. Personally I think he'll be great cover for our wingers, possibly give Pedro and William a run for their spots. If we are interested in Barkley, I believe Conte could mould him into a solid midfielder who offers more versatility than Cesc. Drink water has.

Pressed send on accident! But I believe Drinkwater will give us depth, been consistent for Leicester and think he can do a job for us. He'll also boost our homegrown quota. I'm personally not a fan of ox, but again, he'd be decent cover and again boosts our English contingent. It's not all doom and gloom, but I expect more signings to come in before we are finished.

Don't forget he would be purchased to replace chalobah and not matic, and wouldn't be first choice.

7hrs ago David Amoyal said Candreva is staying at Inter.

Who would you guys say is better lewis baker or drink water? I think most of you will say baker, I know he hasn't got the experience but he's only going to be ard as cover and in cup games. Just give him a chance.

The first choice should be player which plays better not the player who costed more. IMHO.

Hey ed,
Hope you are well.

Do you have any insight to Mousanda (spelling) and Boga whether they will be in the squad for the new season or loaned out.

Thanks in advance.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Boga but nothing will happen just yet. Musonda has injuries to get over before anything can be decided.}

02 Aug 2017 18:49:40
cheers Ed appreciate the quick response

Hope they both stay they're decent squad players.

Chelsea had one of the worst transfer windows in last 15-20 years . I can believe Drinkwater rumours.

02 Aug 2017 07:11:28
I am not trolling for sure.Whoever understands football and supports Chelsea should be worried. And I'm not worried about lack of signing or breaking the bank for marquee signings. I'm worried about quality of the squad.That's it.We have probably one of the best coaches in the world and I'm also afraid that we might lose him because the board is unable to attract serious players.

Agree6 Disagree2

02 Aug 2017 08:27:46
What? We've sold off fringe players from last year, added a few new faces who would grace pretty much a lot of the top teams in Europe, wouldn't actually say we've gone backwards or anything. A few new addictions and we'll be fine. Jesus man, some people thinking this is the worst window we've had? Would love to have seen you when we were signing the likes of Jes Hogh, Robert Fleck and the likes. You'd have a nervous breakdown.

Unable to attract serious players? Morata not a serious player? Bakayoko not a serious player? Hazard not a serious player. We've got "serious" players already at the club. Jeez man get a grip . Ed002 and the others, I now know why you get so p**sed off with this page.

Hurry up end of August.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - I wonder how people coped when Chelsea were outside the top flight?}

02 Aug 2017 08:49:11
CFCAdam I can see that football is not your sport(perhaps baseball or cricket).Or maybe you are stubborn teenager.You obviously have no idea what dressing room means and how important it is. Morata had only 20 appearances for Real Madrid last season(that's fringe player).Bakayoko is promising kid with no PL experience( recovering from surgery).Whatever you think about Costa he is top player.So is Matic.So please stick to your baseball or cricket.
Guys like you will start nagging first like 2 years ago.

Agree5 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - Bakayoko has plenty of Champions League experience and is hardly a kid, he is 22. I think you need to stop with the idiotic insults or go back to twitter with the other trolls.}

02 Aug 2017 09:02:30
Mate, it's beggars belief. I suppose a successful side like us attracts the football manager and Fifa players and expects us to replicate whatever goes on in the game, in real life. Crazy!

But yeah don't get me wrong I love seeing us where we are today, but some days I'd take the 90's all over again! Spencer, Peacock. Hitchcock! When all we did was live in hope that we beat United and Liverpool. We knew we'd always get a result at Three Point Lane. 😉😉. Miss those days!

{Ed001's Note - long gone sadly when people just enjoyed the game for its own sake.}

This is the kind of post (and there seems to have been more than a few of these the past few weeks, from various members) that really gets my goat. Full of negativity, condescending and more importantly, incorrect.

If this is the kind of post that gets published, I dread to think what else gets sent in.

I'm going to take a step back from contributing to the boards until the end of the transfer window as it feels like wading through a treacle river of despair!

Best of luck Ed's, I appreciate your work. :)

Steve.

Far fetched post again Antibot and similar to a previous one from you. I would take it easy mate, I understand your concerns also hinder around our squad depth and let's be honest it is a concern but we still have a few weeks to get players in. I'm sure Chelsea are working on it.

I would completely disagree that this has been the worst transfer window. Morata, Bakayoko and Rudiger are great additions who will work brilliantly alongside Hazard, Pedro, willian, kante etc. Have faith mate.

02 Aug 2017 09:47:43
yes, we have sold a few. but the players we have brought it are exciting young talent. still 20 odd days left. don't worry.

02 Aug 2017 13:03:41
I've looked like a negative nancy for a week or so on here and looking at them now i can understand why it's annoyed people. Players we've brought in isn't the problem for me, it's what we've sold. Ake and Chalobah were hard to take since i really thought we could've needed them this year and especially since they're homegrown from our academy. I know they wanted to leave, and i know the board will replace them. But it's fair to say Conte is maybe the most loved manager we've ever had by our fans and seeing him leave would be painful. That's why i worry maybe our squad isn t good enough to compete in 4 competitions. But like you said there's still a lot of time left in the window so i'll tone it down and judge when it closes.

move to block antibot haha. i've been back and forward over the years, though i forgot my login and just worked it out again so im back

we lierally get all of our top targets and its the worst window ever!?!?! get a grip

yes we need a couple of wing backs and a cm and even then we might be a bit light up front.

but worst transfer window ever lol. malouda anyone?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you don't even need to go back that far though, what about the season before last? That was a bit of a mess and it ended in the team meltdown. This season has been difficult rather than terrible, I would say.}

02 Aug 2017 18:14:36
Well in Jimmy, shak, Adam and Ed and . I fully agree.

We've a load of money in our pocket, we have champions league, and a winning season to build on. I expect a busy month.

Antibot, try to be decent.

relax boys we signed a back up keeper for free and sold begovic for 10 million he never looked good for chelsea so dat was good buisness. bakayoko replaces matic in the squad rudiger and christianson were added to replace terry an zouma . morata as costas replacement . we have d likes of boga am fabregas willian batshuayi etc all on our bench possibly wev a good squad confident squad aswell don't see what all the panic stations are about.

It may just be me but I'd bet a fair few of you on here feel the same as I do; I remember the pre-roman days (not too well mind, he bought the club when I was 11) and being excited for the season regardless who we signed, I still feel the same now. I would like to think our club would remain competitive without paying crazy pogba/ neymar fees as we are ran responsibly. I don't like the thought of our club/ our fans being bemused at a lack of transfer activity when last season we won the league? If it's not broken - don't fix it! We all know we need a few players to bolster the squad but I couldn't really care less if we sign anyone between now and the end of the window or not, I'm proud we won't pay over the odds for players and proud that we are reinventing our reputation from the days of throwing money at problems but that's just my opinion. From the cradle to the grave!

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Aug 2017 23:56:59
Anyone else slightly worried this could go the same way as the 'Mourinho season'.

Don't seem to have secured any of our top targets. Instead of adding to the squad. we've got rid of a lot and replaced them with a few!

Does anybody know who the so called '2 or 3 signings' are that are supposedly close?

Believable1 Unbelievable8

02 Aug 2017 03:50:15
we have seemingly added all our top targets. are you a troll?

rudigar was one of the top choices last year before he got injured. bakayoko was our top choice. and from info from ed and also the papers before transfer window craziness. lukaku was wanted back by 1 or 2 people in the club and due to his past behaviour it was likely never going to happen. morata was the one we wanted.

now do we need 2 or 3 more? yes

do i know what the hell you are talking about . not a clue.

worst transfer window for 10-15 years. you are a joke.

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 07:48:56
Didn't say worst transfer window in 15 years, think you're referring to another post.

Bonucci, VDV, Veratti, Lukaku, Alves, Sandro, Walker, Kessi? Our top targets. have any of them been signed? Morata, yes I'd be happy with that, I think he's a better player than Lukaku. None of the others targeted have we managed to secure though.

Costa, Matic, Begovic, Ake, Chalobah, Terry. all we've done is replaced them with a 3rd choice keeper and 3 younger players who will take 2 seasons to find their feet. We've just won the league and are meant to be building! Now we have 17 senior players, some of which are unproven and others are injured. So no I don't see that as building and no I'm not a troll! Just a fan of 30 years who has seen this happen time and again. Conte could go down as our best manager ever, but not if he isn't being given the resources needed.

Agree2 Disagree2

02 Aug 2017 11:05:36
Dan23, I don't know where to start! Bakayoko and Morata were certainly Conte's 1st choices; Rudiger would have come last summer but got a long-term injury. Bonucci didn't want to leave Italy; Veratti is not for sale and only wants to go to Barcelona if he leaves PSG; the Lukaku deal to Man U was in place long before the transfer window opened and Conte preferred Morata anyway; Alves is 108 years old; Juve have made it very plain that Sandro is not for sale and no one can say that Chels haven't tried (and continue to try) to buy him; Walker? ok, perhaps we should have gone for him but a) is he really top class? and b) would he have come to Chels from Spurs, pissing off every Spurs fan? ; Kessi is an unknown gamble - he might be great but he might suck; VDV? Southampton have consistently said that he's not for sale and have even reported Liverpool to the FA - he is still at Southampton and, at present, still not for sale. Costa was let go because he wouldn't follow Conte's tactical orders; Matic and Ake were considered not good enough by Conte; Chalobah refused to sign an extension to his contract but we have a buy-back clause; Begovic wants to play and we have an experienced replacement in Caballero; JT is older and slower than time! Get a grip, man - we have got 3 excellent players in + an almost new signing in Bats; I don't know what your problem is?! Yes, we could do with cover in midfield and left wingback but the window is still open for another month!

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 11:23:42
