Torres has had almost 100 percent backing from matchgoing Chelsea fans and believe me we arent paticuarly renowned for our patience (Ramires and even the beast himself Drogba got a few barrels early on in thier Chelsea career)
Maybe its blind desperation but his movement is top notch, he had plenty of assists and although his confidence in front of goal was completely shot its not really all his fault that we fanny about passing backwards and sideways at such a slow pace that by the time ball goes up to him opposition surround him.
Next year is the time to judge him, creativity wise we have improved remarkably, he relies on service and quick service is vital this year

As I said on here before this is a big season for Torres.
With the players that have come in I think he will get plenty of service this season
Something he never had before. The fans who watch him play every week see the movement and desire he has.
The player I blame for slow play and back passes is Mikel.

Torres will be on fire next season and I don't wanna go in at him but I'm heart of torres bad patch Sturridge could have laid 4,5,6 goals on plate for him but instead went alone and shot from silly angles etc, with hazard Marin Oscar Ramires and possibly another striker Torres will shine

I agree about torres he hadn the supply last season bar mata but u cant blame mikel all the old chelsea players are slow passers of the ball now we have the right mix to speed the game up and if needs be slow it down
Mikel may have been bad at the start of the season but wen rdm took over he stepped up his form and gave a big hand in gettin to and winn the cups so to blame mikel solely on torres lack of goals is a bit unfair

The problem with torres is that he has lost so much pace. What made him such a prolific striker was that he was able to ghost past people as he was v quick. I do not believe he will ever be as good. I would love him to prove me wrong this season...

Into his own, he might lack going forward but he does his job and does it well, and yeah Torres lost bit pace and
I dunno if he will work at getting it back but he will be gd next season.by January he will have 12 goals. That's my prediction

That's why I say it will be a big season for him.
If he fails to deliver in january he will be gone and his price and wage demands will plummet.

Torres was looking rapid at the end of the season, to say he's lost "so much pace" is unfair! He's been injured and not had a proper continuous run for a while, now he's looking sharper. I have full confidence he'll be back towards his best this season, especially now we have Oscar, who in my opinion is the player Chelsea have been looking for to supply Torres!

I feell sorry Mikel, He is always the scapegoat when everything goes wrong for chelsea. Avb, scolari, Ancelloti, Grant and Mourinho all lost there job becos of Mikel. Meanwhile we have players who give away possession cheaply and are s***e at 1v1 and they call themselves a footballer. Pls pple be more constructive with ur criticism.

Ramires was ridiculously treated at the start (but it didn't last long). Drogba was continuously jeered by sections of the crowd throughout his career - absolutely disgraceful; and please don't rewrite history and pretend it didn't happen. It was generally at SB and I was there for almost all of his matches. Didn't happen in Munich though... I find it pretty sinister compared to the adulation heaped on Torres. Draw your own conclusions.

Roman wanted barcelona type play with no out and out striker, torres is just called a striker, he was really in a free role last season and was one of our best players, i love him

We could do a lot better if the midfield didnt pass back to cech, he will ALWAYS hoof it up field, the midfielder could have done that.

Accept 40mil euros for hulk? (aprox £31mil) appears they want to cash in and were trying to get all they could for him but now everythings cooled theyve apparently dropped there asking price? Any news ed

Man city 35 million for David luiz, I would say no thanks.

35 mil for a CB is brilliant but he will keep getting better and Chelsea really need to keep all of their CBs right now

1- Where will Malouda go? Will he leave Chelsea?
2-Will we sell Sturidge or let him stay?
3- Are we looking at Abate for RB? {Ed002's Note - Malouda would ideally like a two year contract in Brazil and he has spoken to several clubs there. If Sturridge wants to leave and a suitable offer is made then Chelsea would not stand in his way. For now he stays. Azpilicueta is the target for right back.}

hey ed..just wondering if we fail in our bids for hulk or cavani would it be in chelsea's thoughts to try sign neymar an play a similar style to barcelona and spain (like abramovich wants) as in having no out and out striker playing, preparing for the possibility of torres goal scoring form in the league not improving? i think it would be a very wise investment and a great system to play with hazard neymar and oscar our front 3 with mata behind.hope my question makes some sense to you.

Saw Cavani against GB last night - not that impressed - certainly not at £40mill!

Conversely, if you followed Cavani throughout Napoli's season, you couldn't fail to have been impressed! Don't judge players on one game.

Cavani is class , you can not judge him on last nights game . His goal scoring record shows this . Messi did,nt score against chelsea in any of his games he played against us , i suppose you would think he,s over rated too ?

Cavani could be on the brink of a big money move so may explain the poor game against GB.
