Ed at one stage this year it was looking strongly like higuine was going to join in summer ,has he now settled his diffrences with madrid?
Carefree {Ed018's Note - i wouldn't expect Higuain to move this summer}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

It was never strongly looking like it.

ED002 if we do not get Cavani i really hope we do not just say ok we will stick with what we have we really do need a striker there are other strikers available like Huntelaar Soldado Llorente that would also be excellent buys could you see us be interested in any of those ED002? {Ed002's Note - You say they are available when they aren't necessarily. The club is looking to get a striker in. There is nothing more I can say.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I hope d people saying we should stick with torres can see how milan no 9 and 8 play better than ours even terry in defence played better than our lukaku and torres

Hi ed out of 10 what do you think the chances of cavani coming to Chelsea ? {Ed018's Note - there's a chance, but we don't really play the number game here}

Hi ed Could you please tell me why we suddenly gave up on Maicon?

Cheers mate Pete {Ed018's Note - i'm not sure that there was ever any genuine interest, mostly paper talk. Chelsea's first choice for right back has been Azpilicueta and thats were there focus has been}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I heard it was cause Maicon wanted 80k a week

Agree0 Disagree0

He also wanted a 4year deal and we only wanted to give him2

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed just told you we weren't interested

Agree1 Disagree0

No ed said he wasnt sure if there was genuine interest that doesnt mean he knew for a fact there wasnt any

Hi ed I saw Chelsea are really interested in Alexander pato of AC Milan is that true mate? {Ed018's Note - i'm unaware of any current interest in Pato}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I think we have had interest in the past before he got injured i may be wrong

curt

Agree1 Disagree0

I'd be shocked if he got sold with zlatan having already left.

If Pato could prove his fitness would he be an option for Chelsea this summer abd would Milan sell? Cheers ed {Ed002's Note - I have no idea - it seems a little like clutching at straws.}

do you think we could sign damiao he scored 34 goals lat season because at the moment we dont have a proven goal scorer as we saw with torres against ac milan just to be safe rather than just closing our eyes and hope for the best
thanks
matt

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Erm torres hasnt played for a month and a full game for about 6 weeks. Chill dude, nobody was really at their best. In time we will get better, remember we are missing juan mata, who was by far our best player last year. we still have oscar to come in as well. in addition, we are playing a slighltly different philosophy.
give them time.

Agree1 Disagree0

The guy only played 30mins. Give it a break.

Shak

Agree1 Disagree0

So your going to ask about every player thats scored a few goals last year

Agree0 Disagree0

You have written off torres based on him playing for half an hour in a pre season friendly...wow.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think he would make a good addition to our squad for the next few years

Agree0 Disagree0

I just have to say if Torres was Playing like that because it's pre season well then he must of thought that it's been pre season for the past 2 years.

Blue con

Agree1 Disagree0

Blue Con - give it a rest. the guy has been training less than a week and got 30 minutes of playing time. How many opportunities were created in the match (let alone when Torres was on the pitch)?

Torres is a class act, has put his injury problems behind him....our style of play appears to be changing following years of playing a certain style. We, as fans, should embrace this rather than taking any opportunity to have a pop at our players.

Steve

Agree1 Disagree0

It's nothing to do with injuries he's been like this for at least 2 years and when a player with his ability goes that long with out have a little run of form then he ain't going to get it back. It's him he ain't lacking confidence or injury problems or even didn't like being in drogba's shadow it's simply he's lost it and will never regain his form. Everytine I see Torres on the pitch he never looks like he enjoys playing football. So you obviously haven't been watch the games he's played in for the last 2 years if you think he only played like that because it was pre season.

Blue con

Agree1 Disagree2

Blue Con - I go to our home matches (and some away) and have seen him plenty of times. Everyone's welcome to their opinion however, in this instance, I thinkyou're wrong.

Agree3 Disagree1

Your entitled to your opinion but we are both going to think each other are wrong but just wanted to get my opinion across.

Blue con

Agree0 Disagree0

HI Ed,

I realize striker and right back are our 2 top priorities right now but if we are going to spend money on quality striker and great creative midfielders it won't matter unless we can transition from defense to offense quick enough. I truly don't see Lampard and Mikel or even Essien cutting it for a whole season, too much time wasted and no creativity. Any chance chelsea go for a quality cdm before deadline? Who do you see them targeting? {Ed018's Note - We just signed Oscar. He is the type that can provide the transition. I expect that once he becomes adjusted he will play a bit deeper than say Hazard.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Torres ain't drogba he needs to to assisted, I remover watching something lik 4 games in a row he never got set up once not once!

Agree0 Disagree0

Blue con

your name speaks for itself i think your trying to con us into believe your chelsea

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't want to get into the argument about Torres but I think we can't judge him until the end of the season. With the players that have come in he will have no excuse for not delivering
However we do need another striker and fast
Also think Oscar has come in to replace lampard. We also need another D/M has still not convinced about Mikel
Drebs

Agree1 Disagree0

Torres has been massively poor for us since he joined. We keep backing him and hoping he will come good but we need a top class insurance policy because if he has another season like last year we will be in another battle to finish top 4.

Agree0 Disagree0

Blue con you talk mince! Torres last season was good he just didn't score that much, I recon if he s ores that second goal against man u he would of been banging them in!

Agree0 Disagree0

People seem to forget he won the golden boot at the euro,s . He is a clas act but it doesn't matter what team from the top of the table you are , you have got to have second options in positions and we will defo have another world class striker come the new season ,, no point in trying to guess who just have patience ...... Tomcfc

Agree0 Disagree0

I talk mince haha thats funny cause you obviously didnt watch any games. Torres was poor last season he had 1 good game in 10 matches doesn't mean he was good. We need a striker who is going to be scoring most games.

Blue con

Agree1 Disagree0

Short memory's, I remember people slating Drogs in his first two seasons and look how that ended up.. If Torres is awful this season then yea things need to change but this is the first time at Chelsea he has been top man so give him a chance, and I hope he proves any doubters wrong.
Marley

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres needs assists to help him score we bought 3 very good creative midfielders to add to the ones weve got if u cant score from mata rami hazard oscar passes then you wont,but we need a striker in the 85th minuite away to city 1-1 whoes guna out muscle a defender and hit a screamer or just like champions league final get there head on a corner neither of these are torres,yes weve all seen him score from a corner in red but uve only gota watch him as they line up for a corner stood at the back post next to a defender n not even bother to make a run,torres was back up for didier because unfortunatly in my opinon thats the player torres now is a good second half sub

Agree0 Disagree0

I fully agreed with post mate we can not relly on torres

Agree0 Disagree0

Blue con you are deluded if you think Torres was poor last season! Torres is a class act fact!

I reckon we should sign Doumbia as our back up or competition for Torres striker. Looked at his profile on the player profiles website and his goal ratios must be pretty impressive. And the Russian league isnt too bad.
ChelseaL

Believable9 Unbelievable5

He has an asking price of £25mill so won't happen. He wouldn't wanna play as backup either

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that's a fair shout. He would bring something to our team that we don't already have and could play wide and to the person that said he won't want to be the backup I doubt cavani would want to or almost any other striker for that matter.

Cavani and hulk look like there staying with there club do u think chelsea will try to sign another forward and do you know what player it could he {Ed002's Note - Chelsea are obviously looking at their options it is not possible to say who will end up signing.}

ED002 if we are priced out of a move for Cavani who are the alternatives would then a move for Lewondowski be likely? or would the club just stick with what we have? {Ed002's Note - It would not only being priced out of a move for Cavani, but Dortmund's Lewandowski has been watched by Liverpool, PSG, Real Madrid, Rubin Kazan, Manchester United, Spartak Moscow (who are concerned about losing Welliton), Juventus and Lille. I very much suspect Bayern Munich would be top of the list with a cheque in hand should he not agree an extension at Dortmund but Dortmund certainly do not want to sell him to BM. The other more viable options are Arsenal, Manchester United, Juventus (albeit he is probably fourth choice for them). Chelsea have considered Lewandowski but I don't know of any bid being made. At present Dortmund and the player have been unable to reach agreement over a new deal but that does not mean that they won't.}

Just heard a few bits and prices about lewandowski. Is there any truth in the interest Chelsea apparently have?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

28 Jul 2012 22:34:42
Ed, any Chelsea interest in Roberto Soldado? {Ed018's Note - No}

Believable3 Unbelievable4

What did you make of the game ED? we desperatly need a goalscorer. {Ed018's Note - Lampard and Mikel play very slow and Lukaku is no where near ready for first team football at Chelsea. That's what I got out of it}
