Thanks for the update Ed as usual we appreciate it.

So Looking at that what say you guys? I personally think the name that stands out for me is Griezmann, that would be a signing that sends chills down the opponents spine without him even kicking a ball. if we get him I think we could have some player on our hand. However, Can't help but feel maybe that would be Hazard gone but either way Griezmann would be a great signing just behind the striker. Never heard of Jonathan Calleri, till ed's update so I checked him out, you tube isn't the best way to judge a player but boy at 22 he has scored some beautiful goals. He looks In the mould of Aguero and if Hazard leaves think we should sign him not as a direct replacement but as someone that has the talent to replace Eden plus would have a resale value he is a striker that could also play any where behind another striker. Looking at the back and to be honest I was gunning for Stones but Magical and Jackson now have me leaning towards Marquinhos and even Laporte. With Marquinhos being the main target now I think I'll be definitely be pleased with that. He and Zouma would really compliment each other.

Now the big problem for me is at the center of the park, I really feel we are looking at the wrong places, I for one would love Neves, I think we should do what we can to make sure he joins us but he is in every sense of the word one for the future, Xhaka is a good shout but there is no interest, Tielemans looks like we have a chance and a loan back would be perfect he looks really good but still rough around the edges. But for me, I would love to see Andre Gomes of Valencia. Physicality, vision and technically sound. Top player, surprised we've dropped our interest in Him, thought he was the kind of player Mou would have pushed for.

That said there is still a long way to go and our focus should be on the league and bouncing back as quickly as possible, we do still have a lot of good players and if we could put in a good run till January I think we could still have a season worth while. Again thanks Ed002, really appreciated.

Griezmann just seems to find ways to score, doesn't he? :-) His technique on the ball isn't as good as Hazard's for example but he's just got that killer instinct. Ideally we'd have both of them in our team. Hazard as a creator, Griezmann as a direct attacking threat.
Marquinhos is obviously a little smaller, but he's not short per se. I think he's around 1m83 or something, so if he's got a decent leap on him then that's more than enough. He's the same height as Thiago Silva and that guy's a beast in the air. But I'd be happy with Stones, Laporte or Süle as well. All of them are already really good and still young enough to become world class. Then after next season (so after 2016-2017) bring back Christensen to perhaps replace Terry. Then we've got Zouma, Cahill, new CB and Christensen as the CB options. That'd look pretty good to me, especially when you consider how rapidly Christensen is developing on loan at Gladbach.
Gomes is one of my favourite players in the world, so I'd run around with a smile on my face for a month if we got him. But with CM as well, there are a lot of fantastic players that we could target. I trust the club to make the right decisions.

Nice read guys. There's quite a list of players of interest. Who would you like to see moved on from the current squad to accommodate these potential signings?

I would personally sell Ramires to make space for a new CM. I really like him and he gives his all for the team, a true warrior. But his technique and passing just aren't good enough for us I feel. Mikel I've always liked, and still do. He just brings that calming influence on the pitch, so I'd keep him.
I was never a fan of the Pedro purchase, so if it was possible I'd sell him to bring in Griezmann while still having space then for Kenedy and/or Traore in the squad.
Either Djilo starts playing or we get that new CB and he gets loaned or sold. Then we've got Cahill, Zouma, Terry and new CB next season. After next season maybe Terry goes to MLS or Qatar or wherever (just nog England please, John) and we bring back Christensen if he keeps on developing at Gladbach.

I agree with your acessment, Ramirez is a warrior and has great work rate. That doesn't outshine those wayward passes and heavy touches. Mikey is awesome squad player an does the job 9/10 when he plays. I don't see why so many fans get on his and want rid. Pedro was a strange buy when Kenedy and Traore can play his position. Griezmann is the dream buy, the past few seasons he has been on fire. Rumours of Costa wanting a return to Spain, may be a swap deal opportunity. CB Christison is currently doing alright at Gladbach, I'd like to see him back. John looks like he's in his last season, so we may see a change in the summer. I'd prefer we to see the youth a chance and not go blowing big money on a CB. We do still have Kalas, not seen much of him this season. He's done ok when given an opportunity. Thanks for taking the time to reply Jackon.

Hey Ed's

Is there any further news on what is likely to happen as regards a transfer of Messi? I remember reading the detailed review you put up some time ago.

All the hard work is much appreciated

{Ed002's Note - It would not be an FFP issue in any one year for a number of clubs but it would be an issue for any club looking to do any other business over forthcoming years. And the amounts of money involved are well beyond significant. As I have explained before, although Barcelona have not been hawking Messi around, my expectation remains that Messi will be available and Barcelona will start looking to rebuild around Neymar from January 2016 when they can start bring players in again. And I expect that Barcelona will make Messi available from next summer - regardless of who the manager is at that time. Whether or not there would be any takers is another matter, and Barcelona are well aware of that and are looking at the same of others to raise funds. A number of questions were asked of representatives of UEFA in December 2014 regarding the transfer of the financially very high-end players and the impact on FFP. It is clear that exceptions would need to be put in place as the alternative could be lawsuits from players regarding restrictions on trade. In the past Messi has turned down a transfer to one side who had agreed to meet Barcelona's then €250M price tag, and Barcelona and a commercial partner resisted an approach by a commercial organisation on behalf of an English side with an offer to buy, or at least part fund, the player. I am aware that in Spain there has been speculation about an offer being made during the summer 2014 transfer window, but it is "largely" incorrect. This all started in 2012 when in mid December Anzhi made an offer to Barcelona that matched the €250M euro release clause that existed in his contract, and put up what I am told was a "very" significant personal package. However, Messi was not interested in a move to Russia and Barcelona did not want to sell - so Messi, in early February 2013, extended his contract with Barcelona. In the early summer of 2013 efforts were being made by Adidas to broker a deal that would get Messi away from Nike and to one of their three high-profile clubs. Very quickly Real Madrid were ruled out and with Pep Guardiola moving to Bayern Munich that pretty much saw the end of any chance of a move there (given the strained relationship) at the time. This left Chelsea and I can confirm that discussions were held about making a firm bid - at this point we are in late 2013 and early 2014 and Messi was in a verbal spat with Barcelona about getting a further extension - which the club were against. Ultimately, the player was (at least in his eyes) available during the Spring of 2014 and at that point Chelsea and Adidas made his management representatives and Barcelona aware of what they would be willing to do to make a transfer happen. Since then he has again extended his contract with Barcelona. I understand that again they see three possible destinations for the player but I am not going to get involved in any further speculation at this time. The situation will be if the right money were offered then Barcelona would be open to selling - and if the package were good enough, the player would consider any offers. The difficulties include his tax issues and the vast amounts of money involved.}

I would be over the moon to see Messi done in blue shirt but that is my concern for the club with Mou in charge. I personally doubt if Messi would like to play in a Mourinho's team. Mou would rather change a player to suit his style rather than play to player's strenght $ thrive better in a very fluid team. Similar will think twice b4 joining us I feel Mou's weakness have revealed since coaching Madrid $ his second coming to us. I doubt if Mou can make us the world admired brand like Barca, Bayern, Real, etc. He can win us trophies in d short term but will make us look like wealth emassed through illegal means to the football world. Still suprised Mata left $ Hazard to follow soon $ we play Fabregas week in week out.
