Clubs are just too difficult to deal with in January and to be honest,it seems,in general.Look at Leverkusen,who seem absolutely determined to keep Schurrle no matter what package offered,Atletico or most probably the player (Falcao) refusing to leave even though it would improve his career,Napoli with their reluctance to sell Cavani.It seems that in a market deprived of genuine world class quality forwards,each club is determined to keep hold of their prized assets no matter what package offered,it seems a lost cause.
No wonder Barcelona mainly promote from within their academy,it is not as long winded and less painful than having to deal with greedy clubs,players,agents,representatives and paying schemes,taxation and third party ownership.It is becoming more difficult by the day.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Maybe we should have a better scouting system & found these players 10 years ago

Agree0 Disagree0

Athletico will have no choice in the transfer of Falcao. It's down to him. I'm sure Chelsea will do everything in their power to turn his head before the end of January. Whether or not he makes the move, who can say?!

It has always been the case and always will be that clubs are less willing to do business in January. The time constrictions of the window mean that clubs are less willing to sell for fear of being unable to bring in an appropriate replacement.

Some deals however, are to good to be turned down.

IB.

Agree0 Disagree0

I love that you describe clubs as being greedy just because they won't give us their best players on the cheap! I mean, who do these people think they are to refuse us what we want...

Agree1 Disagree0

I hope you're right IB. What a great player and he would make a massive difference to us.

Hi ed are we still interested in pastore of psg according to reports saying he not happy there {Ed018's Note - no, a move back to Italy is probable destination}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Which club in Italy are the most likely destination for him Ed? {Ed018's Note - not entirely sure but i'd say AC Milan or Inter}

Why don't we just break the bank for neymar {Ed002's Note - It really doesn't work like that.}

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Us and about 10 other clubs would break the bank for him! He doesnt want to leave brazil yet

Agree0 Disagree0

When he does move I would love us to be in for him? The boy is class

Any truth ed?

The agent of Chelsea starlet Islam Feruz says a number of clubs want to sign him

Wheelycfc {Ed002's Note - Sounds like posturing but he is just a kid. I know nothing of it.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

His agent trying to get him more money when he hasn't even made it yet. Although I think he will be a good player he scores goals for fun.

Phil

Agree0 Disagree0

JUst like when he was at celtic he should stay put and he may make a success of it but already getting a reputation as a trouble maker

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes also contracted for anothe and a half years, hes trying to get more money, why do you think he pushed through the deal from celtic to us, its what these agents do. BLUEBOY1

Ed's, im starting to worry, we have let daniel go, and it looks like we wont get cavani or falco, how can the team finish in the top 3 with one striker, regards pat {Ed002's Note - Everything will be fine Pat - don't worry.}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I dont think chelsea would let sturridge go if we didn't have something in place

Hi Ed, is it true that Islam Feruz is going out on loan to Yeovil Town? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I think he should tbh. Yeovil have a fantastic record of turning young players into a success. We took Stephen Caulker on loan and he's now playing regular football for spurs and the odd occasion for england. We have tooken several Chelsea players in the past such as Conor Clifford, Sam Walker, Rohan Ince.
Our manager Garry Johnson has a good relationship with Chelsea.

Peds {Ed002's Note - Perhaps when the rules allow it he will.}

Agree0 Disagree0

What rules are preventing him ed?

Peds {Ed002's Note - He is still a child in the eyes of the Authorities and cannot go on loan before he is 18.}

Fellaini, Falcao and Willian these 3 would make us complete?

Believable4 Unbelievable11

Falcao, Schurrle and Schweinsteiger

Agree0 Disagree0

Where would you play Willian and who would you drop to fit him in? Mata? Oscar? Hazard?

Agree0 Disagree0

It's normally Moses who starts instead of Oscar although I would like to see Oscar in a deeper role with Luiz we need a presence like Fellaini with Hazard and Mata either side of him behind Torres.

I'd love to see Toni Kroos as Lampard's replacement great young player

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep seeing as it was my post I am going to agree with the other fella with no name. Lol Mata and Hazard either side of Fellaini would work well with them feeding off of his hold up play to play in Falcao. Alternatively Willian and Hazard playing either side of Mata with Fellaini holding. He's got strength, aerial ability and can play as well. If you don't believe me watch the last 2 Everton games against United it was like a man against boys. He was unplayable.

Phil

Agree0 Disagree0

Toni Kroos is also a quality player but can't see him leaving Bayern.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh by the way the people who are saying they don't believe my comment. Are you saying you wouldn't want these players and who would you choose?

Phil

Agree0 Disagree0

Schweinsteiger is not gonna leave Bayern pointless putting his name on here. The 3 I have chose are viable options.

Phil

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally wouldnt want either Fellaini or Willian.

Agree0 Disagree0

Willian because I don't think Moses is the finished article although quick, powerful and can beat a man I feel that his crossing and shooting is not good enough.

Phil

Agree0 Disagree0

Falcao, Fellaini and Moutinho

Cech

Azpi Ivan Terry Cole

Luiz Moutinho

Mata Fellaini Hazard

Falcao

Agree1 Disagree0

Phil must be about 10 years old with his fantasy football options

CfcBenWxm

Agree0 Disagree0

Grow up Ben this site is for opinions and like Chelsea ain't already a Fantasy football team with players like Hazard, Mata, Oscar. Goodnight GONK !!

Phil

Agree0 Disagree0

Whoever put that team on here i like that as well.

Phil

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha cheers Phil forgot to put my name under that

CfcBenWxm

Agree0 Disagree0

So you picked 2 of the 3 players I chose that makes it even worse. Lol

Phil

Agree0 Disagree0

What are you going on about GONK?

Are you an arsenal fan in disguise?

CfcBenWxm

Agree0 Disagree0

Falcao and Fellaini 2 of the 3 fantasy football options as you put it. That I would like to join Chelsea. Now stop mugging yourself off. GONK !!

Hi ed just a couple of questions
1. does Wallace join up with Chelsea in January
2. Is there any more news concerning fallani from Everton
3.will Benitez leave at the end of season or do u think he could stay /
4. Would u think that mourinho could ever come back
5. And is there any interest anymore in bony or do u think Chelsea have got who they want {Ed002's Note - (1) That is the plane but do not expect to see anything of him this season. (2) Not that I am aware. (3) His contract takes him to the end of the season. (4) Chelsea has a manager, I am not getting in to discussing such matters. (5) Bony remains in the thoughts of Chelsea.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

27 Dec 2012 11:37:18
Much is being printed about Frank Lampard and his contract situation.
There is no doubt that Frank has been a fantastic servant to the club but the facts are that he will be 35 come the start of next season and whilst he can still do a job you have to look at what his contract costs the club and ask would it make sense to offer him an extension to his current deal.
In 2008 Lampard signed a contract worth £150k a week or £39.2 million over the 5 years of the contract huge wages when you consider that Juan Mata in the last week or two has signed a contarct extension to 2018 which will see his pay increased to just below £100k a week.
There is no doubt that as an impact player Frank could still do a job just like Giggs and Scholes do at Man U but it seems that Giggs is on about half of what Frank is paid and Scholes about a third .
The squad rebuild will continue at pace but FFP demands that there really isnt room for sentiment
I am torn on this one but realise that we need to be looking to the long term and to me all of this suggests that Frank will be gone come Feb 1 and that we will have a replacement in place probably a Belguim who currently lives in Liverpool

Thoughts anyone?

Terraloon

Believable6 Unbelievable3

I'm pretty sure that Frank's love for the club is such that he would accept a wage drop. He has continually stated that he wants to stay at Chelsea and he loves the fans. The fact that angers me if that the club haven't sat down with Frank and discussed a new deal, if they don't come to an agreement then fair enough, but it seems to me that they re just getting rid of him cause of his age which is delusional.
MB {Ed002's Note - You need to look at a number of factors, for example: (a) the cost of replacing him after the FFPR kick in fully; (b) the costs of retaining him; (c) how happy he would be being a bit part player - players generally want to make the most of playing time as they get toward the end of their careers; (d) how embarassing it would be if his form dipped significantly - look to the abuse Carragher gets from Liverpool fans when he does not perform at the highest level; (e) time comes - and it really does. He has other business interests and good footballing opportunities elsewhere. Think of him like an old comfortable pair of shoes or an ex-wife - the time comes to discard them and move on.}

Divorced ed ? lol

Ed is roberto di Matteo going to nottingham forest {Ed002's Note - I really don't know. He spoke with another club about a post but that is another story. I don't know if he has been approached by NF.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Other club was Napoli ?

Ed's, are there any truth in the rumour we have had 45 million bid rejected gor cavani, regards pat (47) {Ed002's Note - Putting aside the amounts, I can confirm that teh saummer saw bids from both Chelsea and Juventus that were rejected. Chelsea offered a straight cash deal and JUventus offered cash plus two players but Napoli resisted and had Cavani sign a new deal.}

Ed002/018, re: Marin. I know when asked about his non-participation before you have explained that he was injured for much of the start of the season and fair enough, but he has been back and on the bench for a while now but used. The likes of Piazon have been preferred in instances. Is he a poor trainer? Does he have a bad attitude? Is he simply not rated? He has seemed useful when played to me but there is obviously some issue. Can you shed any light and do you think he will remain at Chelsea much longer? Many thanks -James13 {Ed002's Note - He was injured but has more recently been on the bench and actually started a game the otehr day. Marin is a squad member like others and will be used when the manager decides. There is nothing at all bad about his training.}

Hey guys and ED.

1)Ed i have been told that Falcao is currently in london and has already been to cobham can you clarify this please ?

2)the whole david villa thing is just bad journalism, any real chelsea fan would know that if Lampard,cole,drogba,terry,have or are having issues with contracts because of age then obviously bringing and aging striker to a league hes never played in before well it just isnt viable is it. A bit of common sense kinda solves that one.

for thoose who didnt read posts in the two weeks leading up to christmas these are the forwards chelsea has looked at with varyign degrees of intrest Falcao,Rodrigo,Schurrle,Bony,Remy,Taison

Remy was offered to us when we purchased Dave aka Azpilicueta for around 15 mil we choose to refuse this.He looks likley for a move to newcastle.

Bony has said he would like to play for chelsea but it would appear he isnt top of the list for chelsea's decision makes it remains the two strikers that are wanted buy the club are Schurrle and Falcao who remains our main target.

Atheltico madrid are activly seeking a replacement so a move seems immenent and with the sale of sturridge basically done just waiting for the 1st to arrive it would seem likley talks may have already taken place.

hope this helps in someway to helpign those who wernt up to date and also helping ed not have to answer the same question repeatidly, hope xmas was enjoyable for you all.

BlueBen

CareeeeeeeFreeeeeeee ! {Ed002's Note - I do not know where Falcao is today. He has not been to Cobham as far as I know.}

Kevin CFC - Would you go to the Liverpool page mate sick of hearing you're useless rubbish posts Villa won't join Chelsea the chances are more likely that Schurrle will come in January and Falcao/Cavani In the summer.
