With every passing moment, a new man's name is popping out to take over the reins of the club.

Now, the 'so called journalists' have added another name, that of Pellegrini.

Yes, Manuel Pellegrini, who now sits at Malaga FC after being kicked out from Real Madrid last season.

Reports suggest that his agent Jesus Martinez has told the press that Pellegrini has been contacted by the club's officials to take over the role, but he is unwilling to move as he seems quite satisfied at Malaga.

Moreover, he is sane enough to understand the risks that this job at the club brings which comparable to his Malaga club is thousand times more.

So, dear readers, I think, this move by the board is a pretty surprising one considering us fan's wish to see a world class coach to take over.

What do you say?

Does Pellegrini have what it needs to be the Manager of Chelsea Football Club?

thoughts ed {Ed001's Note - he is an excellent coach and took Madrid to a far higher points total than Jose managed. The only reason he was not given the Liverpool job is that he does not speak English and needed a translator.}

If Chelsea appoint Redknapp for the short term until the England job comes up then this for me would be pointless. There's no doubt Redknapp is a good manager taking Spurs from the bottom of the league to the champions league , but surely Roman should of just let Ancelotti finish his contract then make a move for a another manager( mourinho, villas boas etc)

Ed, is it possible that Chelsea and neymar are waiting until after the Copa Libertadores to announce that neymar will be joining Chelsea to limit the distractions for neymar and his teamates

{Ed002's Note - No that is not the hold up. But it is relevant in that a request was made for consideration of a move in January allowing the player to appear in the world club championships.}

Have you heard anything on what could be the hold up. It appears that neymar wants to join Chelsea. I'm pretty sure it can't be about money right now?

{Ed002's Note - I explained in detail the other day. The bottom line remains it may happen.}

Harry Redknapp has apparently been at Cobham and will be the next Chelsea manager. .
But! Think about it:
Ed002 has been saying for a long time we may look for a short term option and the England job will be available at the end of next summer. .
I personally would be happy with Harry for a year and think he could do a job for a year. .
Do we really want Lippi, Pellegrini or some other donut?
Ed002. . Could this be the short term option you were talking about?

{Ed002's Note - Possibly. I am alittle surprised by the whole thing.}

Thanks {Ed002's Note - He would resolve the issue of having someone sit in for a year, then he can go off and manage England and Plan A is back on. Chelsea close on 20m Lakuku

Chelsea have already been assured by the 18-year old's advisers that he sees his future at Stamford Bridge, and Abramovich is now in the process of agreeing a fee with Anderlecht.

Though the Belgium club were hoping for approaching £30million for their powerfully-built frontrunner, they will accept nearer £20million after he made little secret of his wish to become a Chelsea player.

Sources close to Lukaku, who has already broken into the senior Belgium side and scored two goals in nine appearances, have confirmed he views Chelsea as his main option.

It is understood the transfer will now be rubber-stamped after Belgium's game against Turkey next Friday, June 3.

What is your view on Lakuku ED002? Is he close to signing or is this old stories?

2.Hiddink said he wants to manage Turkey
3.Redknapp would be a step down from ancelotti
4.Grant has relegated two teams. . .so please no

Right This Hiddink situation if by 21.45 what do you expect to find out if he is leaving or what?

Kevin De Bruyne not seen much of him but is he the playmaker to replace Lampard ? Hell no.
I don't see Lakuku being a Drogba replacement either Drogba is a one of a kind player.

I am a worried Chelsea fan at the moment ED002 did u see Jose second hand man's comments Jose wants a return but he say's nothing has changed since he left and this may complicate any move in the future what did you make of these comments Arnesen and Grant have left since Jose as there?

Another thing that worries me is Van Basten link!? REALLY another scolari there IMO

Also we will be letting Anelka Zhirkov Possibly Kalou Mikel and Essien

Kevin de Bruyne And Lakuku will not improve the team we need established players. . . . Essien is a must stay

We need a squad overhual with quality coming in Perez ruled out signing Aguero today as it would cause too
many problems.

Can i have your take please ED002 on these points

BLUEBLOOD

{Ed002's Note - I explained it would perhaps become clearer on Friday. I did not see Mourinho's comments but would not read too much in to them whatever they are. I would be surprised if Essien left. And I would not worry too much - it is only a game after all.}

C'mon ED002 is it more then a game to some of us Mourinho was quoted saying it his left hand man did.The Sun was where i spotted it.

I would be delighted if we signed Van der Wiel Neymar but we need a winger and a CAM and if Drogba does leave another striker And with Perez ruling a move for Aguero out surely we should be front runners with Juventus, If Aguero could choose a club to move to it would be Chelsea would'nt it? i remember him quoting many times before on how he would like to play for us.

De Brune or whatever his name is would be a poor buy IMO

26 May 2011 12:09:27
ed have we given up on sanchez because man city and inter are moving ahead {Ed002's Note - I will try and explain what I know to be correct and what is “rumoured” about Alexis Sanchez. We know that Chelsea and Inter Milan have made unsuccessful bids, and we know that Manchester United and Barcelona have a declared interest. Juventus had previously been interested but were hoping that (a) Sanchez stayed under the radar until a deal could be struck, and (b) Udinese would look kindly on an arrangement that included some cash and several players either in exchange, on loan or in part-ownership as part of the deal. As an aside Juventus have proposed a similar deal for Javier Pastore. Anyway, there was a January meeting with Chelsea in Monaco and broad agreement was reached over the transfer before Giampaolo Pozzo said that the deal must include a loan of the player back to Udinese. Whilst Barcelona were apparently willing to agree to this until the end of the season, Pozzo proposed that whoever Sanchez moved to should allow him to be loaned back for 18 months – hence the end of any discussions. I expect that Juventus will not come back in to the picture. Although Sanchez has been watched by numerous teams including Roma, there is nothing new other than Manchester City having a bid rejected for the player. They have, like Juventus, recently been knocked back in a bid for Pastore and are likely to aim their cheque book in another direction – this may well be Sanchez. The advantage they have, in addition to being able to match any transfer fee, is the ability to put together a wage deal far beyond anything the other clubs could afford or would be willing to pay. I suspect that we will see this whole saga drag out through the summer transfer window as Pozzo puts the player on the market, takes him off the market, values him at €100M and so on. Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and Inter will all likely remain interested but could well tire of the expected drawn-out negotiations. Manchester United and Chelsea were both originally wary of the player being not quite as robust as needs be for the EPL. Perhaps Inter will get their man or perhaps Sanchez will take an offer from Manchester City or respond positively to reported interest from the nice folks at Real Madrid.}

Hi ed. There have been rumours about chelsea trying to sign a belgian goalkeeper named courtois. Do we really need him considering we have matej delac (who is considered the next big thing) jan sebek and Rhys taylor. Are they not good enough to be cech's backup? N.B Arsenals goalkeeper for this season was 20 years old scezeny and he performed excellently. {Ed002's Note - I am a little surprised as well but I guess he is being seen as possibly a replacement for Cech at some point.}

Hi ed2. . Great work btw. I have 2 questions for you.
1) why will we know more about Guus at exactly 21:45 on friday??
2) are you able to comment on why Carlo was fired? You saw this coming months ago. .
Cheers

{Ed002's Note - (1) There are a number of options that have been explored over recent months as the club's future plans for management have been put in to disarray by a number of events. Guus Hiddink remains one of several advisors to the club and it was always hoped that one day he would return to London in the capacity of Technical Director. With Frank Arnesen moving to Hamburg a year earlier than expected and with Ancellotti leaving a year earlier than planned, it means that Chelsea must either adjust their plans completely or look for at least a short-term solution. After considering a number of options it remains one of the options to see if Hiddink can be appointed. The issue remains that Hiddink is committed to a contract with Turkey until at least October, unless something transpires that will result in him leaving his position before then. And that should be much clearer at 21:45 (BST) on Friday. (2) I think you are perhaps overloading the word "fired". There is little point in to going in to any more detail than it was clear from around the New Year that there would need to be a negotiated exit at the end of this season. There were several options including compensation being paid by another club who enquired after Ancelotti, perhaps going to Real Madrid which now seems much less likely and perhaps taking a year off. In the end Ancelotti negotiated a change to his contract that reduced his compensation by £1M and removed a particular clause.}
