we seemed to be linked with more and more Brazilians, is this wise given the pretty poor track record track record they have in the premiership?

SVB {Ed002's Note - Alex, Ramires, Luiz, Piazon, Deco - they have not been unhappy at the club.}

Believable1 Unbelievable3

You wot?! Alex has been unhappy for ages. {Ed002's Note - NO. Alex wants first team starts and knew Chelsea could not give that. He should have left in the summer when there was a good offer on the table. There is a well planned future ahead which includes a return to Brazil at 32.}

Agree2 Disagree0

I'm more concerned about there abilities to perform consistently over a long period, including those dark winter nights up north etc.

SVB

Agree1 Disagree1

The stigma about South American players is hilarious....they don't do so bad when they play in Russia (or the Ukraine), do they?! {Ed001's Note - I think people forget how cold it can be in South America in the winter or in the far south of it. They seem to assume it is all baking hot sun on a Rio beach, when most of it is nothing like that.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Veron, Crespo, Robinho, Forlan, Tevez, Baptista, Emerson, i could go on, all quality players that either couldn't hack it or just didn't like it over here. Most of the better south Americans just don't last over here. Obviously there are exceptions, but there has been a massive amount of SA players come over in the last ten years and a relatively small success rate.

Agree1 Disagree0

I was talking about Brazilians, of course there has been some really good South Americans, but Brazilians? The only real star has been Juninho.

Ed do you believe that there could be a shock signing that could totally surprise us all? Also why have we gone so quiet over ganso I thought he was a huge target! Thanks ed {Ed002's Note - It is very hard to say right now - the club knows what it has to do over two windows and we are very late in this window already.}

Although I too would like to see people sign their name, it seems like OsgoodIsKing is a bit of a control freak. ocd?

Anonymous (normally go by Vincent but trying to make a point lol) {Ed002's Note - Taking the Arsenal pages as an example, it has worked very well and there is a sense of community. And folks can build relationships.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Its nothing to do with being a control freak mate. Its just manners. People come on here to ask questions that they expect the Eds to answer. The Eds just say that it would be better if people would sign their comments. These same people then ask more questions that they expect the Eds to answer but still don't sign their name. Its just blatant ignorance. To come on here and keep asking questions to the people that run the site but not be polite enough to sign their comment when they ask you to is just rude. If me, you, Scotty, PB, Melbourne, SHED END etc can do it then why can the others not?

If you can give me one positive about people not signing their name then fair enough.

OsgoodIsKing

P.S. To start with it was meant as a bit of fun between Chelsea fans. But it seems some people really do have a problem with signing their name?

Agree2 Disagree1

To be fair it was a bit of banter. like youve probably noticed I sign my name anyway so it does not concern me, but to simply ignore all comments who are unsigned is a bit over the top. i do agree however that there are a lot of idiots which just mention different names every day and ask ed but putting a name on it wont change the fact that they are still idiots.

ED002 I have read posts below and what From i can tell De Bruyne looks a done deal with a loan back to Genk likely,The Willian bid is still pending on something? Maybe a move for Hazard but as you say there may be an Alternative to Hazard,can you tell us when you may be able to reveal more?

Thanks
BLUEBLOOD {Ed002's Note - I am probably not going to be able to say anything just yet.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think we will make a bid for hazard and itl get rejected. We will then take willian and maybe a rightback and bosingwa on his way out.

Agree0 Disagree1

So you may have some news?

Jr

Agree0 Disagree1

On man utd page ... Its been said that hazard will most likely move to chelsea but not in likely in this window {Ed002's Note - I think that is probably fair comment at this time.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Ed do you think its possible to sign hazard this window but he gets loaned out to lille till the summer {Ed002's Note - I don't see that happening.}

Agree0 Disagree0

So its likely that hazard ain't moving till summer now. Cheers

Ed, Lucas Piazon has signed a new contract and by all accounts is doing well for both youth and deserve teams; when do you see him making a first team appearance? {Ed018's Note - maybe in 2 seasons. i'd expect a possible loan for the first half of next season then they will probably re-evaluate the situation}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Piazon romeo mceachran midfield 3 is mouth watering if they reach ther potential, and they will

Ed would Chelsea Pay the release clause for Lucas if they really wanted him? Or are they no longer in a position to do that due to the ffp rules? Thanks {Ed018's Note - i would highly doubt, they would agree to pay that much. highly highly doubt.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Heard anything knew ed018? {Ed018's Note - no, to me its pretty clear who the targets are, it'll just depend on what Chelsea decide to do}

Agree0 Disagree0

Who are the targets ed? {Ed018's Note - do you not read the site.}

26 Jan 2012 21:05:01
Twitter rumours of Torres handing in a transfer request, any truth Ed002? {Ed002's Note - If people are just going to post nonsense from Twitter please be decent enough to say so. Perhaps you could caveat the messages with something like: "I saw this on Twitter and I am naive and stupid enough to believe it to be true so I am sharing it with you".}

Eds, is it true Emanelo was in France watching Lille play?

Hussam {Ed002's Note - Last week, yes.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I wonder who he was looking at at, also have Chelsea won over that guy he has concerns over Hazards attitude yet, or are they still working on it ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Which guy has concerns over hazards attitude ed? {Ed002's Note - It is unimportant.}

Whats the views on Willian? From what i've seen, and yes its only on youtube because i very rarely get chance to go watch Shakhtar play, he isn't that great. Even though its only youtube its meant to be a compilation of a players best bits, if it is then he really doesn't look that good. His stats seem a bit poor as well considering he is playing in, lets face it, not a great league. I just don't see him being a massive player for us in the future like Hazard could be or Mata will be.

Saying all that, i still think its win win for us. If he gets brought in and performs well enough for a first team place then fair enough. But if he comes in and doesn't perform well enough for a first team place, then we get a player who is better who will, and Willian will then be used more often than not as an impact sub. If thats the case then i won't be moaning, thats exactly what we're lacking. At the moment we've got Malouda and Kalou so if he replaces them i will be more than happy.

I know its a bit premature because we haven't signed him, but just interested to see what everyone thinks, because as i said i haven't really seen him play enough to pass any credible judgement.

OsgoodIsKing

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Couldnt agree more Osgood, From what little i have seen willian is a decidedly verage winger. I think De bruyne Is a far better option, both for now and the future.

Badger

Agree4 Disagree2

How much are cfc guna pay for willian 16-20 mil ? Rather expensive impact sub , may aswell bring kakuta back and try him as a impact sub , at least it ain't guna cost us 16ish mil. Ridiculous paying that for willian.
I'd rather send 6/7 mil on victor Moses.

Agree2 Disagree1

May as well have bought vagner love for £9 mil!

Agree0 Disagree0

I prefer kakuta

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't really care who we use to be honest. Kakuta or Willian. As long as they perform when they come on i don't mind. But Willian does have experience of Champs League whereas Kakuta didn't exactly set the world alight at Bolton. I'd rather pay the £16mil and get Willian. And Moses would cost in excess of £7mil, but yeh not a bad shout that i'd have him, he's starting to look like a player.

OsgoodIsKing {Ed018's Note - ive got to say i just don't see Kakuta making it at Chelsea. I personally think they need to bring in De Bruyne, Willian and Hazard. already sold Anelka and i'd expect to see Malouda and Kalou to leave come summer}

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed018

Yeh its a shame mate about Kakuta. I always thought he was gonna make it quite big at Chelsea, he looked different class when he was younger. I reckon that horrible ankle injury he had set him back a lot. And interesting fact for you Ed mate - the match he broke his ankle in, i was playing against him (cue twilight zone music)

OsgoodIsKing

Agree1 Disagree1

He reminds me of Freddy Adu and some may say Who and thats my point, small very skillful now playing in some second rate league, but damn he is skillful! Tom

Ed I really feel willian us a step down from hazard is it still a possibility that we sign hazard? {Ed002's Note - In terms of transfers, anything is of course possible.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think we can sign both. They both don't play in the same positions...so why not if available i suppose.

Agree5 Disagree0

26 Jan 2012 17:26:41
I read somewhere that we were sniffing around Adam Johnson and Marko Martin, maybe they could be the alternatives to Hazard. I really doubt we will sign Hulk unless Porto settle for something between 30-40 million, and since they are like a bitter ex-girlfriend, I doubt they will drop their asking price. What do you guys think?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I'd like to know who is Marko Martin, i know of Marko Marin but not this Martin chap.

Agree6 Disagree0

Martin fella is the new messi
Haha

Agree1 Disagree2

Do you mean marvin martin or marko marin? or someone else altogether?!

Agree0 Disagree0

Does no one have any common sense? heard of a typo? wikipedia?

Agree2 Disagree0

The OP needs to clarify

Agree0 Disagree1

I meant Marko Marin. I understand the joking and I deserve a little bit of it for the mistake, I've done plenty of badgering in similar situations but seriously, I typed Marko Martin as I was typing fast and didn't proofread my post. Does Marko Martin look like Marvin Martin? No, Martin it is one letter away from Marin, and Marko is not very close to the name Marvin.

Agree0 Disagree1

Me and marko martin go way back. absolute gentleman

hi ed, chelsea are supposed to be in talks with de bruyne for a deal worth 8 million, in the summer, genk suddenly wanted more money for him have chelsea met there asking price or did genk go back to what was originally being offerd to them {Ed002's Note - I am not interested in discussing the amounts involved. But Genk did more than double what had been agreed in the last week of the summer window.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2012 16:41:43
I can't see that willian can bring anything different to our first team that we haven't out on loan(kakuta)or have gotten rid of in the last few years (Sinclair) could bring , lots of step overs and pace but no end product , also looked at his goal and assist record and he's not pulling up trees on either front. He'll take at least 6/8 months to get use to the pace and physicality of prem. if I were roman i wouldn't give more than 8 mil for him.
Bluematt.

willian to sign @ the weekend....sky sources..... in reference to Hazard nothing will happen till summer, as then most of chelsea"s outs i.e kalou, drogba, mikel boswinga malouda will then move on...

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Add terry boswinga and hilario to that list and i be well happy!!

Lucas Piazon who has been at chelsea since the summer has signed a five year deal,
the 18 y.o dubbed the new 'Kaka' is now awaiting a work permit.
Comes on the back of Sao Paulo turning down a 30m offer for Lucas Moura.

AVB with a 150m war chest for this window and the summer will now up his bid
for Willian at Shatkhar Doneskt.

Alex has agreed personal terms at PSG, but have not met Chelsea's 4m valuation.

De Bruyne expected to sign on friday.

Roma make approach for Boswinga...

Its now exciting to see if AVB goes for any deadline transfer targets,
Azpilicueta from Marseille and Hazard from Lile.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Piazon has work permit as has italian poassport as italian heritage

Agree1 Disagree0

Wasnt Piazon deal done a while back tho? Hes looked top notch in the reserve games. Bosingwa (headless chicken) i heard Donny rovers want him.

Agree0 Disagree1

Lucas Piazon has dual-nationality so no work permit issues whatsoever.

ed do you know if an offer has been made for willian and also if an offer is pending for hazard by any chance or anybody we don't know about {Ed002's Note - I am not getting in to any of this right now. Sorry.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2012 14:31:18
Hi Ed, is there a reason why you do not envisage any work permiy issues regarding Willian? What is the criteria regarding securing a work permit. {Ed002's Note - The situation with work permits is that a player will be granted one if (a) he has played 75% of games at full international level for two years for a country ranked reasonably high up, or (b) if an exemption is applied for and granted under the "exceptional talent" provisions. For example, if a case is made to the authorities that a young South American is a demonstrable talent and clearly one for the future, it should be reasonably easy to have an exemption granted. If however, a pretty much run of the mill or average player was being bought and it was clear they are not appreciably better than those which could be found locally, or are being bought because they are cheap, then it will be much more difficult to obtain a work permit. The downside of the system in the UK is that the "bigger" English clubs can cherry pick the decent talent available and can obtain exemptions, and the rest of the players are assumed not to be talented enough for an exemption (as Chelsea or Manchester United etc. don't want them) and therefore obtaining the exemption is much tougher. A previous enquiry about a WP for Willian was positive.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ramires and David Luiz both failed to meet the WP criteria so came in under the "exceptional talent" rule. I'd expect it to be the same for Willian.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2012 14:19:32
Fee for Willian will be about 20 million pounds i reckon, the good relationship with Shakhtar and the players desire to come should make it a relatively straightforward deal i hope. Any potential issues with a work permit ed?

Tebby {Ed002's Note - I doubt work permit issues.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Hes been playing a while now in the eu so that would not make it a problem. {Ed002's Note - You are thinking of someone else, Willian hasn't played in the EU at all and still needs a WP.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Was the couple days away classed as a success? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea, sorry.}

Agree0 Disagree1

How is ed supposed to know if it was a success or not. JEEZ people. Ed isn't AVB's right-hand man nor does he stay in avb's pocket. haha.

It could only be deemed a success if we leave Malouda over there

Ed do you know if this is true:

Ancelotti has been offered Jose Bosingwa. He is out of contract in the summer and Chelsea want to cash in rather than let him go for free in May.

www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2091869/Alex-set-Paris-Saint-Germain-Chelsea-reject-Hulk-deal.html#ixzz1kWEYBOnb

josh {Ed002's Note - Bosingwa is a free agent in the summer and may speak with foreign teams and agree a deal should he so wish. I don't know what his agent has said to PSG. However, if they were to approach Chelsea I am sure a deal could be done now.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Now, as in this transfer window? {Ed002's Note - Yes. He will be a free agent in the summer.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If Bosingwa goes then surely we will push for the Azpilequeta deal?

Agree6 Disagree0

I think AVB can answer that question for you as opposed to ED.

Surely avb knows who he wants

Agree2 Disagree1

I do have a belief that Chelsea will sign 2 more players this January. Not including the de bruyne deal either. I'm sure we have something up our sleeves and this bosingwa rumour just adds to my belief.. Chelsea always remain quiet on transfers.

I have to say all these rumours which constantly pop up over hulk are ridiculous. He is a good player but come on 83 million is just plain stupid here's worth about 30 max. Don't understand why journos keep reporting it when clearly not happening unless roman is just plain stupid. Jr

Morning Ed, Did Chelsea go back with another bid for Willian last night? Keep up the good work.

Thanks.

Warren {Ed002's Note - My understanding is that any decision over a bid for Willian is pending right now.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Is it pending regarding the money or is someone at the club not sure about his signing as with the hazard situation? {Ed002's Note - The reason as far as this forum is concerned is irrelevant. It is simply pending.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok Ed thanks.

Ed I think I recall you saying that Chelsea were interested in Iker Muniain but were not looking to pay what Bilbao wanted. Hi Ed, i appreciate good work that you are doing. I have a question.
In the past, cfc was linked with subotic and mat hummels. Do we still have interest in bringing either to the bridge this January?

Hussein {Ed002's Note - Not in January, no.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

25 Jan 2012 20:38:58
Ed. 3 questions.
1. Does the Loucas Moura trsnsfer to Chelsea have any legs to it?
2. Has there been any seroius interest on Frank Lampard
during this window?
3. How does one pronounce De Bruyne?
Ta {Ed018's Note - 1. i highly doubt Moura is leaving in January. 2. not sure of any serious interest as chelsea will not want to let Lampard go in January. 3 how can i answer that without saying it. its a touch different than spelled

Believable0 Unbelievable0

De Broyn

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Gotze has been ruled out through injury until mid-March at the earliest....so that would rule out anyone moving for him this transfer window.
