Asamoah is a player I'd love to see at Chelsea.

Really? I don't think he's got what it takes.

While he provides tactical flexibility in that he can play centrally or wide, a lot of me thinks we already have guys who can perform his role. Kennedy and Baba have comparable physical capabilities off the left and RLC is comparable through the middle. One thing I will give him is that he's got an absolute cannon of a left foot and we desperately lack anybody that can hit it from outside the box.

Quite ridiculous to be looking into the market for the likes of Asamoah. Not the skill or exceptional talent you'd look into transfer in. And where's the ambition? Asamoah. really? Look where buying Ramireses, Cuadrados, Salahs, Moseses has got us to. Selling skill and bringing labor will never result in trophies. How many of you wish we haven't sold DeBruyne, Lukaku and Mata?

The big difference to both Kenedy and Baba is that he is tactically/ positionally aware. I think he'd be used on the left if he were to sign.

JG your forgetting if no Ramires no goal against barca, no champions league trophy. Trouble is the other three were never given a chance. All three performed before we bought them and since.
I think you are forgetting where we are and who we can attract. We are not in Europe. So next season we are not at the top table, so we can't obtain the pogbas etc.
Hopefully after next season we can be dining on pogbas etc.

In all honesty I think he would be an excellent signing for the club, it's only my opinion but i feel that Rahman probably won't cut it at the club unless he ups his game a lot and Kennedy isn't in a position to start playing 40+games a season in a position not natural to him yet, so what's the problem with asamoah. He's versatile a warrior he will give his all for the team and happy to take a squad role like he has done at juve recently. And he can teach young Rahman and Kennedy a lot too which could be vital to there growth. He's only 27 so arguably in his pomp and would offer the club a few good years of service and his price I imagine wouldn't be extortionat either. I know people are worried he could also hinder loftus cheeks development but with the club looking to bring in a top drawer cm then asamoah would be the least of his worries plus conte is responsible for largely making pogba what he is today so if anyone will turn loftus cheek into a world beater I don't think there is a better manager around. The only person who I feel may be hindered by the signing of asamoah is Nathan ake but the club may sign asamoah and make ake his long term successer so generally I think he would be a good signing.

This is the problem! The days of buying squad players is over! We have enough of them already, many out on loan who are capable squad players. We need o be signing starting 11 world class players. Asamoah is definitely a no for me. What has happened to the clubs ambition in the transfer market if he's the sort of player we have to resort to now!

I do not forget anything, 7052andrew. And please don't act as if Ramires was key to us winning that trophy, it irritates when one positive moment overshadows an overall contribution. If it was not Ramires, it would have been someone else. Period. Although i loved that goal as much as you did. But let's not forget, the game of certain Ryan Bertrand in memorable CL final. Was he given chance? Should we have bought and sold Felipe Luis and Baba for that matter? Really?

Thing is we should not be buying Asamoahs of the world, we should be developing them. And we should be buying exceptional talent and not "squad players". By exceptinal talent recently related to our club by one way of the other i'm talking Griezmann, Higuain, Bonucci, Pogba in no particular order.

JG, and how does one assess 'exceptional talent' versus 'squad player? Would buying Kante last summer have come under ET or SP? And Mahrez? Payet? Ayew? Alli? And as for Vardy from non-league?!

I think our problem has been the opposite of what you say - we should be scouting exceptional talent wherever it may be not just going for big names.
