Did any of you guys actually think that Hulk would join in January seriously?

Believable0 Unbelievable8

Well, i did. And i think have we not failed with Torres this time around we would havebid some crazy money for him already

Gullit

Agree0 Disagree3

Stick with torres. He will come good. Just need a creative player in the middle or even shift mata there and watch him fire

Agree7 Disagree1

I to thought that with a creative player Torres would be scoring regularly but it has come down to this. Yes a creative player will help but it all comes down to Torres finishing his chances. He had a chance against Manu, Norwich and Sunderland and didnt score(although he was very unlucky with Sunderland). Although I would leave him in the team because of what he is creating for others. I don't care how many disagrees I get because I know that everyone here knows its the truth.

So within the last year as it stands we have signed:

Courtois
Cahill
De Bruyne
Mata
Romeu
Piazon
Lakaku
Davila
Meireles
Torres
Luiz

And at the moment we're linked with Willian, Higuain, Azpilicueta and Hazard. Thats not bad if we're being honest. If you look at how many are on the list, the quality of the players, and their age, then surely its got to make even the most negative of people realize things are not that bad.

OsgoodIsKing

Believable13 Unbelievable1

Piazon (potential) Lukaku (potential) Davila (potential) De Bruyne (potential) - funny thing about potential is only a few ever fulfill it, for a top club, you can't pin your hopes on potential hence why chelsea is still linked with big money players.

Agree3 Disagree4

You forgot Feruz and the other guy at vitesse

Agree4 Disagree0

Spot on pal, cant believe how ungrateful some of the recent posters have been, plus the likes of Josh, Bertrand, Chalobah, Hutch coming through, a world beating young TEAM is imminent

Genk have confirmed that Dirk Degraen (Genk Director) is in London & that Kevin De Bruyne'll sign for Chelsea

ML

P.S looks like I have 2 out of 4 right so far.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

And who are the other 2?

Agree2 Disagree0

From ML's text earlier:

"24 Jan 2012 16:03:40
Hey Guys got some news from my source he is usually quite reliable.

Alex in talks with PSG

De Bruyne set to join Chelsea with 6 moth loan back.

We have Submitted a 29million bid for Hazard

A second bid for Willian is on its way.

ML"

Agree3 Disagree0

Is De Bruyne confirmed then pal?

SHED END

Agree0 Disagree1

So far so good. Hope your sources are correct.

Agree1 Disagree0

I dont think he is confirmed yet but it seems almost certain,
Alex looks more then likely i reckon.
Also what i said about Hazard was wrong and we haven't bid 29million for Hazard but i reckon a bid will come.

ML

P.S Keep up the work ED.

Hello ED,
Is Torres leaving in January? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable3 Unbelievable4

25 Jan 2012 19:24:18
If deBruyne turns to be our new coming of Damien Duff, i'll be happy, if he betters that, will be over the moon. Hope we wrap this up this week. {Ed002's Note - I understand that tacit agreement has been reached.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Good news then. I like that the didn't budge for last minute " i double the price" trick. I bet we got him on our term or thereabouts. Do you have any idea will he move right away or in the summer, Ed?

JG {Ed002's Note - I don't know if the final details are figured out but I suspect the summer.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Then i personally expect another deal next week. Won't speculate. The list of our "targets" is on the web 365 a year. Whoever turn up, i hope will make impactband spark some firepower. Don't want another saturday afternoon at Norwich.

Best,
JG

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed what is tacit {Ed002's Note - It is like a small penguin.}

Agree5 Disagree0

We love the ed's banter!

Agree7 Disagree2

Just because he is ginger dont compare lots of laughs

Agree0 Disagree1

25 Jan 2012 19:12:54
Ha! Its so obvious when you think about it. ED knows something that we dont.

ED knows that we will bid for someone other than De Bruyne. Hazard possibly?

Or maybe 'an alternative to Hazard' perhaps?

So ED, are you going to spill the beans? Or are you going to play your cards close to your chest?

Samir {Ed002's Note - In fact I am going to just drop the matter completely.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Samir, shut up and stop talking like a t**t. If Ed knows something they tell us. SO samir, jog on.

Samir, give it a rest chap....you're acting like a child who doesn't take no for an answer!

Ed is there any info on what Lucas agent said about us bidding for him or is it just going to turn into another neymar saga.

Jr {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what has been said, but perhaps waiting would be the best option right now.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This what he agent said..

Pedroso has reiterated Lucas' buy-out clause is 80million (£66.7m), although he believes Chelsea have tabled a 35million (£29.1m) for the teenager.

"There is a clause of 80 million, we all know that," he concluded.

"Sao Paulo have not expressed an interest in selling Lucas, but I can say that we've heard from people connected with the club over an offer from Chelsea for 35million

Agree1 Disagree0

But seeing as buyout clauses have no affect save in the country in which the club is instituted it makes no difference whatsoever

Agree1 Disagree0

There is a lot of people who are disagreeing with us going for de bruyne but let's face it he can't be as bad as malouda or kalou.Did anyone really think lampard would be as good as he has been when he first signed.Or Torres to be as poor for £50m as he has been.Lets give him a chance,he's young pretty quick and got a wicked left foot.Thats if we sign him

Believable7 Unbelievable3

A wicked left foot? I can't wait to see what his right is like....he's actually right-footed. ;)

Agree7 Disagree0

Agreed apart from the fact hes actually right footed....
Blue John

Agree2 Disagree0

Reminds me of mean machine when the cometators go hes

Agree0 Disagree0

Well when he was playing against us he was on the left wing, putting amazing crosses/through balls in with is left foot.

Hi Ed are there any other transfer targets rather that the usuall suspects, because the same old people is what people seem to talk about? Cheers (doing a great job Ed)
Liam {Ed002's Note - As I said Liam, perhaps there will soon be some news which could excite people a little. Take away a little glumness. We will see.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Some of your recent replies ed seem to suggest you may have an idea or some info on something happening or are you just trying to keep us patient and calm

25 Jan 2012 17:48:46
I reckon chelsea will sign de bruyne and hazard before the transfer window shuts, but de bruyne will either go on loan to genk or just be a player who comes off the bench against lesser teams. And i reckon this will be the main team for the rest of the season.

Cech
Ivanovic-Terry(c)-Cahill-A.Cole
Essien-Ramires-Mata
Sturridge-Torres-Hazard

Hilario
Bertrand
Luiz
Lampard
Mierelles
Malouda
Drogba

{Ed002's Note - Or perhaps an alternative to Hazard.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Getting DeBruyne in spite of Hazard is stupid beyond reach. {Ed002's Note - You haven't really grasped any of this at all have you?]

Agree3 Disagree1

Hi Ed, is Angel di Maria our only considered alternative to Hazard?

If not, care to share?

Thanks, Craig

Agree1 Disagree1

U say an alternative, had u heard anything? {Ed002's Note - Just forget it.}

Agree1 Disagree0

ED you can't tease us like this :D
Scotty.

Agree1 Disagree0

I asked earlier today if we are looking at anyone other than de bruyne, willian and hazard so if we were to sign de bruyne + 1 it would be from willian or hazard surely, because ed said that we werent looking at others, only cahill (who we've already bought). josh

Agree1 Disagree1

25 Jan 2012 18:01:16
Hi Ed002, really enjoy using the site, keep up the great work. I am curious to know how many people at Chelsea have to OK a deal for a player before an offer is made? Also if Chelsea fail to make the Champions League next Season it could make signing players that much harder. Are the hierarchy at Chelsea concerned about this or are they confident it will not come to this. Thanks again Ed002. {Ed002's Note - It is a collaborative process but it is very much more limited as to who could actually make an offer. Various peoples views will be sought over purchases and certainly those views taken in to account. The club is obviously aware of the financial consequences of not qualifying for the CL. I have no idea about levels of confidence.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

25 Jan 2012 18:10:16
I wonder if Hazard would like to play with his fellow countrymen? i.e. Lukaku, Courtois and De Bruyne. I think Chelsea should give Lille whatever they want and pay Hazard whatever he wants. He is a dynamic player with a lot of flair. This is exactly what we need.
FP

Believable6 Unbelievable2

25 Jan 2012 17:51:39
IMO the only chance we have of getting hazard is right now in this window. In summer alot more teams be after him. City Madrid etc. whoever is in charge of Chelsea's transfers need push for it. hopefully we dont sign William who is second grade to hazard

Jr

Believable13 Unbelievable1

25 Jan 2012 17:30:15
Ed2: ijust hope it isn't. DeBruyne is an unfinushed summer business, just as it was with David Luiz last winter.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

25 Jan 2012 17:27:27
Hi Ed, are we still interested in Jack Rodwell? I know you have stated Everton's asking price well over estimated, however due to their lack of funds do you think is possible Chelsea will make an offer for another English Player? {Ed002's Note - I guess the answer remains that at the right price Chelsea would be interested in him as a squad player.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Jan 2012 17:23:42
Hey listen up everyone!

Chelsea fans who believes that Chelsea's only signings are going to be Kevin De Bruyne and Cahill are fools.

Do you really think Abramovitch would be satisfied with that? At the end of the day, this is his club and his team.

When Abramovitch gets mad, he either:

1.) Sacks the manager

Or:

2.) Splashes out alot of Roubles

Needless to say, he WILL splash out alot of money.

For goodness sake, this time last year we were in the same position, and went and spent a cool £80 million on just two players! Samir

Believable1 Unbelievable3

That worked out really well for u lot the most expensive sub in the world!

D

Agree2 Disagree1

^ I think you'll find that title belongs to Kaka.

Agree9 Disagree1

, true. But the fact remains, he will buy other players. And hopefully he makes the right decision this time! Eg Hazard and Willian.

Samir

You clearly don't know about transfers!

Ed2: is KDB the last piece of business this transfer window? {Ed002's Note - We will have to wait to see.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No, it isnt our last signing.

We need players that can practically jump straight into Chelsea's starting XI, like Mata did.

I don't have the sources ED002 does, but I know this isn't the end. It will be a transfer deadline day bid, but it will happen.

Trust me.

Hey Ed,

If we signed Kevin De Bruyne (which is more than likely), we could still place bids for Eden Hazard and Willian right?

Thanks ED.

Samir {Ed002's Note - It is possible but really don't expect all three.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Hazard and De Bruyne are likeliest apparently.

Agree3 Disagree0

Willian shouldnt even be considered, kakuta has more potential, willians goal n assist rate is poor

Agree4 Disagree2

So was many of the best players in the world, but look at them now

25 Jan 2012 16:51:26
Hey Ed, what is the possible issue with Hazard's attitude that is worrying certain suits at cfc? Is it because he is a gobby self centred diva? {Ed002's Note - There have been well recorded problems in the past but I am not interested in gossip.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Me neither mate. Heaven forbid.

Agree2 Disagree0

Why arn't you intrested in rumors this is what this site is all about right? {Ed002's Note - The site has no interest in gossip.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmm...it wasn't gossip when you said that there was a someone at chelsea that wanted assurances about Hazard's attitude? That was on here wasn't it? {Ed002's Note - Don't worry - there will be no more such things explained now. None.}

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jan 2012 16:23:57
Hi ed if chelsea signed de bruyne would he be likely to go back to genk on loan for the rest of the season {Ed002's Note - Possibly, we'll see.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Jan 2012 15:28:13
Ed, Is there any young Africian players playing at the ACN that Chelsea have been watching or you think are players for the future.
Thanks Tom {Ed002's Note - I really don't know. My knowledge of the dealings with younger players, except in certain parts of the world, is very limited.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thanks Ed

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jan 2012 14:59:02
I dont think if we sign de bruyne will stop us bidding for willian or hazard is that correct ed2 {Ed002's Note - No it won't.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

De Bruyne will go back on loan to Genk for the rest of the season so it will have no impact!

Agree3 Disagree0

25 Jan 2012 14:48:17
have chelsea looked at bringing Robben back to the bridge or was this just wishful thinkingi read a few weeks back?
Thanks Ed!

Tom {Ed002's Note - Rather unlikely Tom.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

25 Jan 2012 12:46:48
I can see why most people dont want us to sign de bruyne bcoz he is not hyped in media and dont carry a heavy price tag

Believable2 Unbelievable2

I think the problem is that he DOES carry a heavy price tag.

IB

Agree5 Disagree2

Put it this way we want to compete with the best knowing our players have a chance to walk into other big clubs around the world with ease. However de bruyne would struggle to make everton squad nevermind man city, real madrid etc We should be competing with such clubs and competing for champions league.

Agree1 Disagree4

Debruyn is a good player to come on as a substitute i suppose.

Agree1 Disagree1

You are clearly stuck in the world of football manager my team also has neymar hazard higuian hulk and rooney. Yet in real life clubs cant afford to pay 40 million plus for a player from france whos not proven maybe part from city which you will see reining in there spendin as no team can do it forever look at us. Besides who is to say de brynue is not going to be the said £40 million after playing for us for a year. We are doing the right thing by buying the best talent money can buy we just need to allow them to play now. Look at terry ronaldo , rooney struridge and countless other players that were given a chance to shine and exceled i trust avb and so should all you fantasy football players.

Agree13 Disagree2

He's potential, what chelsea need is a ready-made first team player, at the level KD is on at the minute is far from what we need hence why i believe he'll be loaned out this season and possibly the next, clearly not ready hence the loan, you should get your story straight.

Agree5 Disagree2

I think the one leaving in fantasy world is you, countless players? Are you serious? Out of the countless players only a few make it and especially in the premier league, Rooney and Studge are born and bred in this league, why is it surprising that they are taking to it? Do you know how many players from abroad fall short in the premier league? Exactly, countless? Please.

Agree1 Disagree3

Wat you mean drogba malouda essien mikel cech bosingwa mata romeu kalou ivanovic alex i see wat you mean all failed to make the grade and were all purcused for under 30 mill that is basicly a full team or foegin internationals that before chelsea were not in the prem and that is just from 1 team out of the league not mentioning modric how much spuds buy him for, henry ,overmars , veriea , bergcamp , how many do u think actully make it big from playing prem football am sure it out weighs the players that dont

Agree3 Disagree2

It's not about buying one player with a big name. Its about the club having a long term plan and buying the best players to fit that plan. Not just going into the sweet shop and say I want that and that and that because they look nice, then get home feeling sick because they didn't taste as good as they look.

Agree5 Disagree0

Well said above post u dont just buy him because every 1 else wants him to they have to fit perfectly and if this worry about attitude is right with hazard the he can stick it and i wud prefer de brynue he has already said he is hoping to come to us and nos stitation so wont sulk like the harazd

Agree4 Disagree0

Hazard will be a great signing. The guy is a genius. I'm in awe with david silva and hazard will be just as good. Can't miss out otherwise regrets.

Agree4 Disagree0

How many full games and i mean full games not you tube clips of all his best bits have you seen

Agree1 Disagree0

You really have your story mixed up, The Bosingwas, Drogbas, Essiens, Mikels etc were all fully fledged internationals who were making waves even before joining us, not some kid looking to fulfil his potential. Would you say KDB is the same player as the Drogbas etc. before joining us? You can't be serious. Those players came for big money as were ready for the first team, KDB isn't or there won't be any talk of Loan if he was, he's in the same bracket as Lukaku not the Drogbas, Essiens etc. who were making waves in the european scene. Very poor example. Quality costs money.

Agree2 Disagree1

Romeu is quality and he only cost £4.5m!

Agree8 Disagree0

I disagree with some of the post above! KDB has some real potential and he is only 20! look at drogba he did not start making a name for himself till he was 24 in his first season at marsielle.

Agree1 Disagree1

Romeu isn't just any other player, he comes from the La Masia state of art training facilities of the Best footballing club of this generation.

Agree1 Disagree0

Hazard is certainly good enough but is a bit light weight even more so that mata and silva because they have a lower centre of gravity.
He is definitely more suited to wing work in the premier league like nani

Agree1 Disagree0

Like Nani?!

Nani's over 6ft you fool....

Agree0 Disagree2

Anyone who is doubtin de buyne, then you know nothin about football.....the guy is a mix of joe cole and rooney,hes only 20 and has a real chance of bein a legend at chelsea. great tricks,free kick specialist,fast,two good feet,and a great work ethic....if you dont know anythin about him..the dont post pointless comments...trust me blues fans..this guy is a really exciting signing. watch and see. i have know doubts at all. well done for gettin the man on the cheap.

Agree2 Disagree2

Just a quickey regarding the posts above about buying all these players to go straight into the first team. the uefa fair play that chelsea are preparing themselves for means that you cant buy all these top players and pay their wages (cant exceed income), look at the wages we pay already (terry,drogba,lamps etc) the only answer is to buy young talent with a lower wage and HOPE to progress it into a top star thus keeping within new uefa rules. Flipping hate Platini hes only doing it cos Prems the best and he hates that FACT. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea's wages do not exceed income. However, Chelsea have been making a loss due to various other matters. Don't worry too much about the FFP rules just yet.}

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2012 12:31:45
do you know if we are looking at bringing in any others players during this window other than the 3 we regularly discuss - hazard, de bruyne, willian? i.e. a right back. cheers, josh {Ed002's Note - Yes, a centre back.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

But weve got 4 centre backs now

Agree1 Disagree0

Which cb {Ed002's Note - Cahill.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Was talking in the present tense so guess we're not. Good answer. Josh

Hot news.....Torres being offered back to Liverpool...loan deal then permanent in the summer.....

Believable2 Unbelievable19

What a load of nonsense, Torres still will be here when the transfer window closes, get used to it.

Agree14 Disagree1

25 Jan 2012 11:54:36
I guess the De Bruyne signing will rule out any more interest in Willian in this Window ED? {Ed002's Note - I don't know what the plan is with De Bruyne and rather suspect that will be the driver as to whether or not the club make a formal bid for Willian. I also understand that not everybody is keen on a move for Willian, but it cannot be ruled out.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Is there still an issue over the fee for De Bruyne or has that been sorted? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know. If it has not been resolved he will not sign.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Rumours flying about is that, he'll be loaned out this season and the next, similar to what's happening with Courtois.

Hi Ed, i regularly check this site daily for updates on transfer news and speculation and really respect your comments and inside info. I also check bleacherreport for nba news and chelsea news and was wondering if you had considered writing on the site? You dont have to be a journalist just someone who writes sensible articles and simple slide shows on anything chelsea, with your inside info and the sense you talk i really feel you could add something to the Chelsea page.

www.bleacherreport.com/chelsea

PB {Ed002's Note - I can't actually do such things PB.}

Bleacherreport is garbage.

De Bruyne close to signing for £8m and will go on loan back to Genk for the rest of the season. Any thoughts?
FP

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Ed say this isn't true {Ed002's Note - I don't know what the price is or what the details of any loan back to Genk are.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I just don't fancy De Bruyne. I'd prefer willian over him

Agree4 Disagree4

What I've seen of de bruyne he is way off being a first choice starter, very raw. When we played genk he was very average. Not world class which is what we need!

Agree5 Disagree1

Why would you prefer Willian? De Bruyne has a better goal and assist rate and is less than half the price.

Agree2 Disagree3

I liked the look of de bruyne in the two games against genk.superb passer of the ball also has a bit of pace.But a complete different player to hazard,who I think would work better with Torres.De bruyne would work better with a powerfull forward like drogba.

Agree6 Disagree5

Have you seen him play mate. Very average and certainly not world class. I could see us struggling this year if we don't sign atleast 1 world class player in january

Agree7 Disagree2

From what i have seen from this guy i definatly think he is going to be quailty give us the width we need his speicalality is the ball behind the back 4 which i never see us doing now.

Agree2 Disagree3

Signing one player in the transfer window will not make any difference this season, in fact any players bought in at the moment will be with an eye to the future There will be no quick fix!

Agree3 Disagree1

Willian was an alternative to De Bruyne so if De Bruyne was AVBs first choice then surely he is a better player. {Ed002's Note - The interest in De Bruyne predates AVB as manager.}

Agree1 Disagree0

ED, You've said that the interest in De Bruyne and Willian pre-dates AVB, are there any targets that AVB has recommended that we weren't interested in before? Thanks =] {Ed002's Note - Meireles was the choice of AVB.}

Agree0 Disagree1

If he was i'm concerned cause he is pretty average. whoever else is making the choices better continue

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jan 2012 08:52:28
according to the mirror Chelsea had no interest in singing hazard this window,,,,is this true?? {Ed002's Note - There is no time limit on any move for Hazard. As stated on many occasions: "Unless an extraordinary bid matching the clubs valuation is made in January, Eden Hazard will not be available to the summer."}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

So what we have to do is wait and see. {Ed002's Note - The key point is that, like with strikers, there is interest but there are no time constraints being applied - meaning that the club will wait for the right players to become available to minimise adding to the squad just for the hell of it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Can i ask though Ed, An extrodinary bid matching there valuation, isnt their valuation going to be the same price in the summer? There not going to lower their asking price and couplke this with more parties going to bidding or enquiring for the player surely the price will go up. I no you have said the price of the player doesnt matter which if this is the case why not pay what the price is in January?? Otherwise where going to get into a Pastore situation again in the summer and im pretty sure the price will be around the same figure.

PB {Ed002's Note - The bottom line is that they are not wanting to sell Hazard right now.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2012 06:58:03
everyday i wake up and check the media for Chelsea news i found we have interest in new player,,,,,,,in last couple of days i think we r close to hazard then we go willian and now it looks like we r close to sign De Bruyne i tired of following the news so i guess i should till February {Ed002's Note - The issue with De Bruyne has been around for a year and it looked like a deal would be completed in the summer. However, he got an injury and Genk more than doubled the asking price at the last minute. The other ongoing concern has been the reluctance of De Bruyne to go on loan if the move went ahead.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Thank Ed......Great informations
