Morata seen in Milan talking to Juve reps, big disappointment to be honest.

Milan is ok!
He could have had a meeting in a worse city!

What’s disappointing about it? The fact the player hasn’t settled into life at Chelsea, dislikes London, misses Italy and Madrid. Spoke about returning to Madrid very soon after joining Chelsea.

Or the fact that he’s only good when playing against less physical teams? He gets knocked off the ball far too easy, jumps under a header when he could hold it up. His first touch is as good as Lukaku’s. Goes down like he’s been shot and then moans about not getting a foul and proceeds to get a fellow card.

Where’s the disappointment in that? If he wants to go, then let him. He won’t be a big loss. Not exactly world class.

Have to agree Adam. We've not agreed on Conte issues this season but you've hit the nail on the head there.

Disappointing because in spells he was a real top striker, is young and I thought his second season he would improve.

In spells. short spells. How many one on ones did he have throughout the season and miss? He would be another Torres. Flog him back to Juve, Milan and get someone else in.

He's scored 15 or so goals in his first season in a new country, plus missed a large chunk due to injury. Give him a break. Hope he stays.

I was a huge fan and pleased we signed him but as the season went on all the things said above about him are true, he is not cut out for the EPL and at times he was looking very much like Torres, lovely movement, decent in the air but elsewhere all over the place and the yellow cards he received were a disgrace, nearly all for whinging. At least Costa earned his cards.

I was excited when we signed Alvaro but clearly the loss of Diego had an effect on this campaign. Morata never looks like he’s fully there, I never feel like he’s busting a gut, always seems like he’s scared of messing up his Simon Cooper-esque quiff. Truth be told, I think we all agree transfer fees have gone barmy; we’re victims of paying over the odds, oh and the curse of the number 9.

Hi Ed01,

Could you shed some light on the current situation on the Chelsea Managerial Position, in regards to

Luis Enrique
Sarri
Conte
Jardim
Jody Morris
Jokanovic

from what I have read around there's quite a merry go round going on.

Are there any outsiders other than this list for the post?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - from what I am told, though this is without having had a chance to confirm anything with Ed002, Conte no longer wants the role and Chelsea do not want him, the only problem is that he is due a lot of money. So it just remains to come to an arrangement to reduce it significantly.

Sarri wanted to stay at Napoli but his hand is being forced. His past comments are a problem, so he is still unlikely.

Morris is not amongst the first choice options as he is very well respected where he is and it is felt it is too soon for him. The longer things drag on with Conte though, the more likely other options will be ruled out and it might mean he gets his chance.

Enrique was the most likely but his wage demands are ridiculous. However he will work in the set up at Chelsea, so he is still very much the main possibility.

Jardim struggled this season and has shown he does not seem able to control the big egos in a side. He is a back up plan option but unlikely.

Anyone else is very much on the outside. Personally my opinion is that Enrique will be the one to replace Conte. So far I am 1 from 1 on my calls (or should that be 'educated' guesses?) this summer - I got Emery right somehow - so we will have to wait and see as so much can change when dealing with such huge sums of money and so many other factors to interfere. However that does seem the way it is going.}

Thanks a lot Ed01 . i don't understand why is there such negativity around Luis Enrique in the fan's minds . He's done a good job at Barcelona and Celta Vigo, although he won't be much of a difference to Conte or Mourinho in his personality or way of working.

Absolute legend Ed001. Your comments abd insight are really appreciated. Thank you.

{Ed001's Note - thank you.}

23 May 2018 18:21:43
Thanks Ed. May i just ask what are the comments that Sarri made that are the problem?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - there are a series of them over the years. It is not one set of them, it is repeated examples.}

23 May 2018 18:42:58
Ed1, all these media outlets are saying Sarri will most likely end up with the job. Do you think Chelsea would want guarantees over his behaviour before they commit. Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes, they have done similar with players in the past. It is a big risk to take if they do appoint him, but it seems to just be the media guessing as he has been pushed out by Napoli.}

23 May 2018 22:16:10
Cheers for your input Ed1, I have to agree with you mate because it does seem like the media are guessing. I think they are all so convinced that they are making stories, appointments up etc. I would like Chelsea to give Sarri a chance over Enrique. I would rather Conte stays and is backed over Enrique lol.

Losing Conte only to replace him with Enrique would be a disaster. Enrique will just be a wannabe Guardiola, getting frustrated with the lack of skill in our experienced players. And he probably won't have the guts to give the young guys a go.
Much rather have Sarri than Enrique. Enrique would probably be sacked after a year or 2 as well. While Sarri is a risk, he's a risk that could pay off massively.

Preference would be keeping and backing Conte though. One of the best in the world, still quite young and shows an unrivalled passion when he's happy. Just need to back him in the market.
Got a bad feeling I'm going to end up very sad in a few days.

Conte burnt his bridges with Roman and the board. That has been very clear since last summer. As much as I rate him, he’s better off out of Chelsea. With Conte, it’s his way or no way. David Luiz shouldn’t be treated like he has, dropping Rudiger (our best defender) because of his remarks shows what type of manager Conte is. Doesn’t like to be criticised and if he is, they get dropped or left out.

Dropping Luiz after his early season performances/ injury was ok with me and we were able to see Christensen have some solid games.
I do agree (if true) that Rudiger being dropped for making comments would appear harsh
We have/ had a manager who wants to just manage and that also includes managing a level of discipline.
One of the problems at our club and other clubs is that players not only want to play and play every game they also want to manage the team.
In my opinion players should just stick to what they are contracted to do and that is just play!

If you were choosing, who do you think would be a good fit for Chelsea out of all the managers in European football.
