Hey Ed,

Do u think Chelsea will still be targeting a striker now we've got Moses?

Will playing the night of transfer deadline day make it more difficult to complete deals?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Yes.

No.

OMG, IT's been answered so many times!

Taking it with a pich of salt but apparently moses and hulk bids accepted today? {Ed018's Note - A bid for Moses has been accepted. I have not heard that a bid has been accepted for Hulk}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Everyone saying bout ed 002 but ur doing a good job urself 0018 well done for not letting this page sink {Ed018's Note - i'm trying. these last 2 days have been rough. i don't have as much time as other editors to do this and there has been alot of rubbish to deal with on here}

Agree0 Disagree0

Food for thought. If we have finally given in to Wigan's demands after a long pursuit, who's to say we won't give in to Porto's demands for Hulk?

Rich

Agree0 Disagree0

Have we actually made a bid for hulk yet? {Ed018's Note - no}

Agree0 Disagree0

Seeing as the window closes next Friday (When we have a game) I'm half expecting some news about possible strikers and azpilicueta over the weekend into Monday, thoughts?

Agree0 Disagree0

We wouldnt give in to 80mil it would have to be a more of meeting in the middle

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't think the Super Cup game will have an impact as we will have people back in the UK (and elsewhere). I hope we sort our business before the 31st...but we're Chelsea, so probably not!

Agree0 Disagree0

We always end up with a last minuite buy that noone expected to happen random player

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought we were going for cavani . I'm sure thats what ed 02 said ages ago and that it will probably go all the way to the last day

Agree0 Disagree0

Your right ed02 did say our main target was cavani a week or so ago.

Excellent news about Moses. I really think he is going to do well as he combines physical strength with technique. Proitos

Believable13 Unbelievable1

I think it will take him a while to establish himself in a team of our quality but i have no doubt he will be a massive player for this club! young and fearless

Agree0 Disagree0

Direct strong and quick, very useful signing indeed

Agree0 Disagree0

Moses is a waste of money he not gonna get in the first team and leave after a season maybe 2 another ben haim/ sidwell and he is very greedy constantly shoots from impossible angles and a low goal ratio

Agree0 Disagree1

Completely disagree. Did you not watch Moses at the weekend?

Agree1 Disagree0

What score was that mat h the weekend 2 nil thought so
Moses was alsos shooting from nealry the corner flag and crossing was not great
Who douthink moses will get in the team over

Agree0 Disagree0

He won't start to begin with just like Oscar, but if you are a Chelsea fan you'd realise we need a right winger which funnily enough Moses seems to be one! think about it a bit more

Hi Ed: Is Victor Moses bid has been accepted? And one more question ed do we looking for more or this is it...!! Chelsea for life

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Yes, it has been confirmed on Wigan's official website.

Agree0 Disagree0

Two more after moses, likely azpilicueta and cavani i think

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt Cavani. He wants to stay in Naples and has never stated he wants to leave. Hulk is more likely than Cavani this summer although i also think Leverkusen would sell with a much improved offer than the one we made

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2012 19:27:43
So if we had signed Cavani or Hulk, they'd both have got what... 4 goals each by now guaranteed? Maybe but I very much doubt it.

I do know we are currently on a 100% win rating with him leading the line.

Sky Sports: Wigan have confirmed they have accepted a bid for Victor Moses from Chelsea and have given him permission to talk to the club. More shortly.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Hope it's not instead of Hulk or Cavani.

Agree0 Disagree0

Happy Days :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Moses is a replacement for kalou
Drogba's replacement still to come
1of2 Hulk/Cavani
IMO Cavani but this one could go to the wire

Hi Eds, What is your gut feeling on whether Chelsea will bring in another player. I know they are trying but do you think it will happen. Especially a striker.

Thanks for all your guys good work and I hope ED002 comes back. He/She was excellent

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I posted earlier today - the striker Chelsea are bringing in is Taison from Metalist. He's Brazilian, 24 years old and a striker currently playing in Ukraine. It's a done deal - he was seen as a cheaper alternative to Hulk.
Cheers,
Frank's Dad.

Aziplicueta was thought to be close to a switch to Stamford Bridge, but Labrune has instead confirmed that the Ligue 1 side have rejected the Blues' latest offer.

"Last Friday, they [Chelsea] come to us with 4m [£3.2m], but we told them that is not a [good enough] offer," Labrune told La Marseillaise.

Both Labrune and sporting director Jose Anigo had been spotted in London this week, adding fuel to the fire that an agreement was close regarding the 22-year-old.

However, Marseille remain keen to keep the former Osasuna player and Labrune is adamant that a move is not in the offing.

He added: "I do not know who started this story, but they are totally wrong. It surely comes from agents that have an interest in the deal.

"Maybe they imagine that by running around making a noise about 8million euros it will make a difference, but it will not," he continued.

Magnitude

"For the moment nothing is happening."

Believable3 Unbelievable2

That's a joke of an offer if true. Marseille bought him for twice that and he's improved since then.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just can't understand why Chelsea are dragging their heels on this one

Agree0 Disagree0

They should just offer over the top and get the kid in ASAP. Ivanovic clearly needs to move to the middle, as Luiz and Cahill have defending issues and Terry is an old man.

I have been trying to post some sensible posts on here but none of them have appeared. However, strangely the usual crap is. Actually it isn't the usual crap there is more of it.

Might as well call it a day.

The Guvnor.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

To The Guvnor.....I'm sure your frustrated that your posts aren't being answered but I'm not sure that sharing your frustration in this way is going to help.

We're all Chelsea supporters and come on to this site because it really is a fantastic source of information. We're all desperate to know who we are going to sign and I keep checking until my posts have been answered.

I think we all appreciate the work that the ED's do. My understanding is that this is all done in their spare time and I think the majority of readers of this site really appreciate and value the great work that they do.

What I don't understand is why the ED's post the innappropriate comments. Surely the easiest way of not giving the minority who spoil the threads is to post their comments so not spoiling it for the genuine majority.

I have read a lot of posts about Ed002 and there is clearly a lot of disappointment being caused by the lack of reply. I think that if there is to be a degree of professionalism from this site then we would hope that the ED's can be the Adult within the relationship and ignore the children. I'm sure that the advertisers who pay the money that cover the overheads wouldn't want to lose customers over something that seems to be getting out of hand.

To The Guvnor. These comments aren't aimed at you. I respect your right to share your frustrations. I just wanted to share mine after reading your post in the hope that we can draw a line in the sand and return to what we all want and that is to share excitment about the thing we love the most.....Chelsea Football Club!

Thanks Steve

oh my god the sun has hit a new low!
blues no to citys 30mil luiz bid
david luiz was axed from the team against reading while chelsea and city try to thrash out a deal ,luiz claimed on twitter he had a knee injury chelsea were angerd by luiz and fined him, sorry just thought this all sounded hilarious this is as much bs as i think it is aint it ed? {Ed018's Note - Yes a boatload of BS}

Believable4 Unbelievable5

I saw this and thought what a load of BS, when Luiz was doing the signings yesterday, someone asked if he was gonna leave (I think they said to Barca) and all he did was pick up one of the shirts being held for him to sign and kissed the badge crest. He had a genuine injury, the Sun's so-called sources are journalists who have an unfortunate knack to put 2 and 2 together and make what they want.

just leave him too it for a bit and he will be back lets not keep posting about him it will make his head bigger ;)

Hi Guys, Firstly, bring back ED. Amazing insight. And to all you nob jockeys who want to come on here and slate others, do one. If you've nothing of interest to add don't bother..Anyway back to the transfer rumours we are all here for. Thought you all may like to read this. Straight from FANIQ (internet)...

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo went out on a limb to extol about the qualities of his latest signing Andre Schurrle. That's right! The German star from Bayer Leverkusen has been signed in by Chelsea for £23.5 million.

Roberto Di Matteo didn't need a lot of arguments to convince Chelsea's billionaire Roman Abramovich into signing Andre Schurrle. The 21-year-old's statistics from last season were enough to prove he was going to be an asset for Chelsea.

With just nine days remaining in summer transfer window Chelsea picked up their campaign to sign in Andre Schurrle. The Champions League and FA Cup winners from last season eventually presented Bayer Leverkusen with an attractive offer which the German club graciously accepted.

Believable3 Unbelievable12

So nob jockey (couldn't resist) You say RDM 'went out on a limb to extol about the qualities of his latest signing Andre Schurrle.' yet there is no quotes from RDM?

Secondly RDM has very little input into who we purchase. As a Chelsea supporter you should know how we operate.

I don't doubt we may sign Schurrle but before you ride in on your high horse check your facts.

FANIQ? Really?

Melbourne CFC

Agree0 Disagree0

I've checked out the above and it is what is quoted. Down shot the guy down for quoting whats on the net.
We all know Chelsea's transfer policies, fair play for posting if you ask me. And we all know who our main targets are. Not everything is fact !!
TRUE CFC

Agree0 Disagree0

True CFC I know it's what is what is said on the site but it's not a direct quote from RDM. Nor is it on the CFC website. Fairplay for posting a rumour from FANIQ that is factual incorrect on so many levels? Come off it

Melbourne CFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Relax Melbourne its a rumour site not a fact site, people post rumours that 90% of the time are false. We clearly havent signed Schurlle have we so laugh it off mate, what also made me laugh is the 'graciously accepted' part!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah mate it is, but it's crap like this had clogged the site for a while. Wasn't having a crack at the bloke but this isn't a site to copy and paste your garbage.

I'll cut to the chase. All the other Ed's are doing a great job in Ed002's absence and I muscle and I assume many other are greatful for that. However, I'd just like to know what we, we being te people who appreciate your work and read all the posts, can do to prove to Ed002 that we care. It feels like at the moment we are having to pay the price for the actions of a few and being as we are all individuals and not moderators it's not like we can get rid of the few. Or perhaps it's the majority that are persons, I have no idea!

I just don't want to be punished for the actions of others that I have no control over. Is there anyway a private, invitation only page could be set up. Then you guys could decide who could view that?

Either thanks for the continued work

Best wishes

Note to ED003
I can assure you ED 003 that the vast majority of us do appreciate what ED002 brings to this site. The problem arises when a few sad individuals believe it is they and not in this case ED002 who should be looked to and trusted for information. When they are exposed as being no better or worse that the rest of us,then rather like a child who is not the centre of attention will go off and sulk. They will then do everything they can to annoy the person who they in their own fantasy world believe themselves to be.The real tragedy of this situation would be if the spoilt children keep wailing so long and loud ,or in this case being moronic in their repetitive questions and worse insulting in their comments that they get their way and drive ED002 away from the Chelsea page.I believe and hope that ED002 will come back in his own time when there is something to report and hopefully the children are all cried out.
So a request ED002 from myself and I am sure the overwhelming majority, have a large glass or two of Pastis and know that most of us who visit this site truly appreciate and respect your input.

If the luiz to city rumours are true, how about Richards and dzeko swap for luiz :)

NWBLUE

Believable3 Unbelievable11

The only way luiz should go to city is if there willing to give us kompany

curt

Agree0 Disagree0

I must be watching a different luiz to all you guys as Cahill is twice the defender than luiz. He is great going forward and could possibly be a good CDM, but no way is he as good as he's made out to be. I like my defenders to defend, not piss about at the back like he does.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kompany is probably the best in the world at the moment but i would still rather have Luiz. Cahill is not better then Luiz just more disciplined, Luiz unlike Cahill has an abundunce of natural talent and once Terry has taught him all he knows then Luiz will be amazing. Next year Cahill and Luiz in centre defence....Amazing

Agree0 Disagree0

Richards (Pony) Dzeko (Pony) I am seriously doubting u watch football. Luiz is the boy! Dont want to sell him for any amount! City can do one...seriously hate them!

Hey eds I'm a first time postee, i love this site and think you guys do great job here, this is one of the first things I look at it in the morning. Please can some one confirm if there is any truth in what's in the sun and daily mail about luiz to city for 30mil. I really hope this is not the case as I think Luiz is class plus think he should be pushed on a little further upfield to holding midfielder as mikel is very average. I'd like to see Cahill ivanovic and terry competing for centre back role (as i personally think terry is well past his best as his lack of pace against Wigan and performance against reading was not the jt of old)

There appears to be loads of speculation about forwards and midfielders but what is blatently apparent from the first few games is that we need to sort out the defence. Any sign of a quality utility in defence, ie CB/RB or CB/LB. Maybe someone like jagielka, who is english and would not be as expensive as a foriegn equivelent.I know we are playing great football going forwards but a " we will score more than you " attitude is not the way forward. As teams like wigan and reading should not cause us the problems they have.

Having been live to the Reading game I have 3 key points I had observed which I will explain in the different match intervals.
1) In the first twenty minutes, until Reading scored, our football was beautiful. Intricate flowing moves, Hazard and Mata dropping deeper to bring players into it, Ivanovic and Cole both assisting the forward play, Lampard being a central option, even Mikel was passing it forward. One particular move early on saw Ramires released when he should have squared it to FT9 but instead shot across. That was a counter-attack done at such pace, Reading couldn't cope. Hazard already looks settled. His pace and guile to take a man on, not to mention his trickery will win free-kicks and penalties for fun in the EPL, as well as finding it easy to assist goals. Mata was his usual reliant self, still playing even after his rest which shows how much he enjoys it, how much he wants to do it. What impressed me most however was Hazards work-rate, up and down everywhere for 90 minutes, collecting and receiving, driving forward and supporting, bringing Torres and the Midfield into the game. One particular pass set up Torres for a nut-meg, followed by a pair of quick step overs before he squewed a shot wide. Overall, Barca-esque football, champagne flicks and tricks adorn. Reading sat off us until that first counter attack and we dominated. Possession after 20 minutes was 78-22 in our favour. Decent penalty, well won by Hazard who was scythed down again which I think will be a regular occurrence. Dissapointing goal to concede on the counter attack, Mikel, Lampard and Ramires failed to get back quickly, Macleary had a neat one-two before putting in a wicked cross which Pogrebynak headered in expertly, looping it up and over, giving Cech no chance. Reading then were given a boost and Terry's needless foul on Macanuff after his run when he should have been stopped or stalled by one of Mikel or Ramires cost us. Cech fumbled the ball into his net after diving too early and trying to anticipate what Guthrie would do. Despite dominating, we were 1-2 down.
2) For about ten minutes, we were all over the shop. No support for Torres other than Mata and Hazard who received no service from Lampard and Ramires who were out-muscled. Fair play to Mikel, he tried several drives; one of which found Hazard who crept into the box only to be slammed to the floor by Gorkss which was an even more blatant penalty than the first. The last action of the first half was a Ian Harte classic free kick which Pearce nearly headered unmarked only to jump too late. This wasn't anything like what we did last year. Di Matteo needed to inspire and the fans needed to back, as well as get the substitutions and fresh legs right. Boy did he fire them up. As soon as we were back out, we stared pressing for an equaliser. Some more intricate passing broke through Reading and Mata fired just over. Reading sensed they needed to try and consolidate and pushed all 11 men back. This was a catalyst for Cole and Ivanovic to become almost LWB and RWB respectively as well as bringing Cahill and Terry into CDM areas. We kept pressing, a few shots screwed wide but no real break-through. Torres was wtruggling with the aerial service he was receiving but when he did get it on the ground, he was out-muscled. To their credit, everyone was passing forwards, probing on the edge of the box for a goal to get us level. Enter Oscar, who came on to a great cheer, replacing Ramires who still looked like he was recovering from his illness which plagued him last weekend. Sixty-five minutes passing and Reading were all-hands on deck, several inspiring blocks from their impressive centre halves stopping Hazard and one shot from Oscar which was perhaps too accurate and not quick enough, being clutched gratefully by Federici. Hazard as usual got another assist but it was an unexpected one. His pass to Cahill found him about 38 yards out and after a short run, he shot. Many fans (including myself) wondered why and he answered. The shot swerved viciously, bouncing right before Federici laid his gloves on it and flew into the net. Out of the blue, literally we levelled. Cries of "you're not singing anymore" and "that's why we are champions" erupted and Cahill celebrated, pleased to have scored and given us a lifeline. A few moments after the goal, Danny Sturridge came on for Mikel who I felt had a decent game, though his lack of pace box-to-box is still a concern. All in all, we proved what we proved so much last season. If we went behind, we would fashion a goal out of something. And that is what Champions are made of. Attitude, determination, drive to never giving up and fighting back even when behind.
3) After we scored, to use a cliche, "Normal service resumed", Hazard and Mata brought Sturridge into the game down the right-wing, Oscar was effective in the centre. Reading brought on Adam Le Fondre for Jim Karacan to try an win the game, but ultimately, Reading were easily pushed back and we dominated play again, clever link up between a frontal five of Torres, Mata, Hazard, Oscar and Sturridge created several chances, Mata curled a shot wide of the far post, Sturridge blazed over the top, Torres had a shot blocked. Reading were all back in their own half and nine men in a penalty box is difficult to break down as we know so well. Cole and Ivanovic both joined the attack, the formation gradually switched from 4-5-1 to 2-7-1. We went wide, Hazard and Mata orchestrating some lovely passing around the Reading box before pinging it out to Cole who unselfishnessly rolled it to an unmarked Torres for a dubious tap-in. Torres had a guilty look at the linesman but saw no flag and celebrated like mad. Although he was offside, the goal was coming and Reading had no response to our attacking prowess. They threw on Hunt for Pogrebnyak and tried to push. We took off Mata who looked exhausted again and brought on Mereiles. Enter about 10 minutes of niggling fouls, tackles and clearances as we broke up play. A silly free-kick some twenty-eight yards out was taken deftly by Harte and smashed through the wall, the deflected shot skimming past the post although Cech was across to cover it. Even the keeper was pushed up for the resulting corner, but the corner was headed away straight to substitute Hal-Robson Kanu who crossed only to find Ivanovic's head. His header away found Torres who controlled the ball well, despite pressure from the retreating Federici. A long pass forward to Hazard who had easily been our star player once again saw him drive into about 35 yards of open space, one-on-one with a Reading defender who had stayed back. Did he shoot like the crowd expected and blast home? No he rather humbly squared it to the advancing Ivanovic who stroked it home, echoing a similar goal scored against Wigan. The message was clear. Chelsea had gone top of the League. Chelsea has the firepower and ability to turn games around. Our players had adopted a "never say die" attitude last year which appeared to be becoming a stalwart characteristic. And Eden Hazard? Man of the Match once again, the player so scrutinised by various "experts" and pundits before the season had answered them. 5 assists in 2 games, two penalties and over 80 passes, a box of tricks and mobility which allowed him to pop up anywhere across the pitch, as well as a wonderful workrate. I can already see the spirit of Zola in him again, like we saw in Juan Mata.
On everything I have seen, pre-season, the community shield, highlights of last season and the 157 minutes he has now played in a Chelsea shirt, he is worth £32 million easily.
There's only one Di-Matteo!
That's my verdict chaps, any comments?

Ater about 10 mins my wife said she could only see one result and I guess she was right but in getting there it was a bit of a roller coaster.
The header for the first goal 99 times out of a 100 would not have resluted in a goal and the second was down to Chec.

However what was clear is that whilst we are much more of a threat going forward the two screening midfielders are of a concern

Mikel and Lampard gave the ball away time after time and created pressure on the back four which for me was the main area of concern
Hazzard is going to be top top class

Cfcforever,,you sure go on forever you boring dick!!

Mikel cannot play when teams push up on him. He also reacts rather than anticipates & ends up chasing players.

Agree0 Disagree0

CFCFOREVER u should do this more often. Really impressed with every section.
Two things apart from already mentioned:
1. Mikel played a good game but his passing range is very poor. Too much of back passes to CBs.
2. Oscar came on for Rami & den Sturridge replaced Mikel, then Oscar took a more deep position and acted like a playmaker. I think we have found out a solution to our creative playmaker problems. Oscar has a very good eye for passes. One pass he sent Sturridge clear and then Sturridge wasted the opportunity but the pass was just amazing. I think Oscar can fill that place for us.

I find it rather funny that between Saturday and last nights game Torres had completely opposite games. On Saturday he did everything except for scoring and was unlucky not to score at that. Then last night Torres didn't look very good but got a lucky goal. Gotta love football.....

Torres did not have a good second half yesterday(despite the goal) but his first half was like saturday(except that 10 min period in which I think all but hazard played fairly terrible). Hes got his first league goal this year and hopefully first of many

A few thoughts on the match....

After Mikel was taken off, the next 20 mins were probably the most beautiful football i've seen us play in 3 years.

I know it was only against Reading but i think we should play 4-1-4-1(some say 4-3-3) from now on and we can always switch late in games to protect a lead especially away from home. I say this because i think it will change the way teams defend us, the extra attcking mid in place of Mikel would prevent teams from pushing up and i think we would have more of the ball.

Ivan is a great player but i see why we need a natural RB, he struggles against pace.

I'm pleasantly surprised at Oscar's toughness, he looks a bit taller than i thought he was, always looking to help on defense and i can't wait to see what he looks like for us when he hits the weights.

Lastly, Lampards passing in the final third of the pitch was a bit shocking as he gave the ball away about 5 times in the 1st 15min of the game (later there was a play where he gave the ball away got it rightback and gave it away again) however after Mikel went out he played a bit deeper and played much better. I think a shift to the 4-1-4-1 with him in the deep laying role would work quite well for the team.

Hi ED, just wanted to know if Chelsea bid for Edinson Cavani?

Thank You {Ed018's Note - Not at this time. Although there will be a move for a striker very soon. We all see that we will need another one}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Care to drop any hints on who it's gonna be ? personally i'd love to see Schurlle come in :)

Agree0 Disagree0

We are weighing up a bid for cavani noname

Agree0 Disagree0

Not going to happen mate, I reckon schurrle is the most like to join.

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon these are our options.
Cavani-Amazing player, great strength and a great eye for goal. Would Love to see him at Chelsea.
Falcao-Brilliant striker who has scored amazing goals but I'm not sure he would start every game.
Hulk-Interest seems to have cooled but I think he would be the best option for us. Can play on the wing or up front.
Schurlle-Young German who was brilliant at Euro 2012. Not sure he would get the chanses he currently has but is one for the future.

Dear Ed002,
This is a football ......{Ed003's Note - 002 does a great job informing folk of information maybe folk should grow up and realise what he brings to the site}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

This website and all the eds especially 002 are taken for granted every day! I know there's plenty og 'get ed 002 back' things going round but quite frankly if I were him I'd say screw the lot of you, they guy is like Aristotle but still gets constant abuse. Majority of people like me love this site and its just a shame its been ruined in recent days

I'm not disputing what Ed002 brings to the site and have found his/her information very useful. However i don't really see how punishing the whole site is justified for the actions of a few posters. Just ban the offending posters, you are able to do that and it seems fairer to me. Abuse of eds is unwarranted, however another complaint from the eds that i have often heard is repetition of questions and asking about random players that have popped up on any useless rumour site. This seems common to all sites. Take the Liverpool site for example, their dodgy rumours page is filled on a daily basis unlike the Chelsea page. Despite this their users do not seem to be criticised and neither has a similar boycott taken place, even though in the past eds have been abused. I hope Ed002 does return as i find his information invaluable. Added to this, in his absence there has been a noticeable decrease in activity on the site and to be honest the posts to regarding ed002 are even more annoying than the repeated questions.
