Just as an assumption. If most clubs have a first team squad of say 25 players, is there a number of absentee players from that squad that would make that teams fixtures impossible to complete?
{Ed002's Note - Teams have a squad of 25 players over 21 as a maximum - this includes a maximum of of 17 non Home Grown players. They can supplement the squad with players under 21 so it is most unlikely, without a major infection, that games cannot be fulfilled. And if there were a major infection the games would be called off regardless.}

That’s a very reasonable explanation of what might happen. I guess if there were s in playing staff or if players just prefer not to risk playing under the current circumstances it is just like having a bad run of injuries!
{Ed002's Note - There are a number of players uncomfortable with returning in the Premier League and there are entire teams stepping back in two other countries, but efforts will be made to continue. The problem will be police advice, medical advive and the opinion of players being ignored - and not waiting at least beyond the incubation period for a couple of weeks once there is a manageable level. Then there will be the issues at the grounds which neutral venues will alleviate - but that could change. Chelsea has the advantage over most clubs in that public transport in the area is poor and the site is easier to protect than most in the Premier League, but the views of the mayor of London are also being ignored. Realisically Liverpool will be the major issue and whilst the club have given assurances they will not underwrite the problem - so it is possible games may need to be scrapped in real time. The Premier League have tried to discuss this but right now they are continuing to fail to achieve.}

A very dangerous decision to ignore players concerns Ed. Surely they could be leaving themselves open to legal action? Although, I guess they could say we allowed the the players to make the final decision about if they wanted to play!

Never on my mind Ed but some legal parasites I’m sure are looking on with eager anticipation.
