A couple of weeks ago I posted that Sarri should go and was slated for posting it. The only reason that I don't think he should go now is the spectre of Mourinho lurking in the shadows. But I will say it again:

1. Kante is at best an average attacking midfielder but he is the best defensive midfielder in the World. To play Kante out of position to accommodate a half-arse possession theory is criminal;

2. If we are going to persist with a ball-playing deep midfielder, the perfect player for that is Fabregas who is a better passer than (and perhaps more mobile than amazingly) Jorghino - and Fabregas will give you 5 to 10 goals a season;

3. Having 75% possession and creating nothing is pointless (as we are today) ;

4. Sarri has never won a trophy and will not win anything major at Chelsea because he does not understand that possession is irrelevant without scoring goals (he may win the League Cup but who would really care! ) . Sarri and his tactics are much better suited to Italy -as soon as Mourinho is employed elsewhere, Sarri must be dismissed (along with whoever suggested him for the job) .

I was at the game today and I actually thought Kante was outstanding as was Kovacic. Jorginho on the other hand was incredibly poor again, I agree with you that Kante needs to be moved back and played centrally at the expense of Jorginho. RLC needs to start from now on too.

I’ll judge Sarri once he has a striker who isn’t mentally weak or slower than Mertesaker, a winger who contributes to goals and someone in midfield who can create and pop up with a goal every now and again, Willian offers nothing Pedro as I’ve said is inconsistent and today wasn’t great, kovecic just isn’t going to score this season, his up to 71 games without a goal, judging Sarri on a team that isn’t his. After not even half a season is a bit much.

Rudi, Luiz, Kante and Kepa in my opinion all played well.

Not going to win a lot without an out and out striker and we haven't got one simple as. Hazard one man show every week going forward.

I can’t fault our keeper, defence or midfield. They’ve been excellent. The midfield three have been good on the ball though it has been quite easy for them.

The obvious week spots are easily the two wingers. Willian and Pedro are both good players but not at the level we require. Either two wingers are needed or one winger and a striker.

Otherwise let’s put Loftus-Cheek on the wing in the second half.
