It's looking more likely we have our second signing in the promising Eden hazard for £28m

Believable5 Unbelievable6

I'd say lille would want more than that for him, plus with the clubs interested it could turn to a bidding war

Hazard: "I will be
playing in London with the
Champions League winners next
season. I look forward to it."

Comeon!!!!

Samir

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Not what I read, my agent spoke with Manchester utd and Chelsea and both gd offers and great clubs I am still not sure where I will be next season, blokes a nob

Agree0 Disagree0

Pretty sure he didnt say that...

Agree0 Disagree0

Hows the bloke a nob? when he's got life changing choices? mug

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure where you read/heard that Samir....it's untrue though. No confirmation as to any move whatsoever.

Agree0 Disagree0

He has been telling every club in europe that he will be joining them for the last 6 months. That alone constitutes him as a bit of a nob.

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly its not just him these players have to think abt there familys and wether they would want to go to london or manchester or maybe madrid lol

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy seems to want to get interest from as many clubs as possible. i'd imagine to get as good a contract as possible, as good a player as he is would he really be worth the hastle? he could be at a club for a season then want to force a way out to sign for another club

Agree0 Disagree0

please Ed can you tell us what the hell is going with torres {Ed002's Note - In what respect? He gave an interview - big deal.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

An interview straight after the game when emotions were running high from the celebrations and him taking the mic and signing we are the champions at the parade today suggestions that he may be unhappy are false maybe unhappy with the playing time.

Agree0 Disagree0

He has been moaning about the way the staff has treated him and he wants to know what is going to happen with him in the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2012 21:35:24
Where did u post the answer about rafael, cant find it hear in the rumours page. {Ed002's Note - There was no approach I know of.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 May 2012 20:58:04
are we getting hazard? yes or no ed? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have no agreement with Lille.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Do we have an agreement with the player?
JG {Ed002's Note - That would be tapping up. Clearly the Twitter generation should stick to Twitter.}

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2012 20:58:57
Can I ask exactly what Torres said in his interview with Guillieme Ballague today? I didn't see it or hear it, I was at the parade all day. Also, ed; what is the Hazard situation, has it progressed or is it the same as last month?
Cheers all!
Double Winners 2012!
CFCFOREVER! {Ed002's Note - For about two years Chelsea have been keen on Hazard but just one person has concerns that must be addressed. Those concerns relate to his attitude (leaving the stadium after being substituted etc.) and his constant talking to the media etc.. The first may have been overcome, the second clearly not. His representatives are aware of this and met with a Chelsea Director to see if this opinion could be put to one side and to see if Chelsea would make an offer to Lille. The answer is no, so they wanted to organise a meeting with the permission of Lille for the player to sit down and discuss the issue to see if it could be resolved. Hazard is aware of all of this.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Okay: I thought that was still the case ed, cheers for clarifying. :) Also, do you know what squad number Marin will take up next season?
Cheers,
Double Winners 2012!
CFCFOREVER! {Ed002's Note - No idea.}

Agree0 Disagree0

ED did his representatives try and strike this kind of deal with any club or just chelsea is the player keen on a move or would his people like him to move to chelsea? {Ed002's Note - This was to address the concerns that Chelsea has, so ...}

Agree0 Disagree0

He will say after the game 2ngt that he is join united {Ed002's Note - How much have they agreed to pay Lille for him?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Can we infer that he is genuinely keen to come to us, given that his representatives want us to make an offer? Or is it the case that no other club has made an offer, and he wants us to start the ball rolling? {Ed002's Note - You can infer little from this.}

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2012 19:56:18
Yo ed, about the rafael question i asked earlier there is no answer about it on the posts so, what do u know about it, did we approach united for the player? {Ed002's Note - I answered it elsewhere.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why would Chelsea approach Man U for a player that can't even defend?. Both of the twins are average at best.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2012 19:48:26
Still speechless after last night! And really in the dark over our instant future. I see no way that Drogba and the club won't come to an agreement. And when they do, i see no future for Torres at our club.

We should look to bring in Cavani as he is the closest one to Drogba's playing style i can think of. (Lukaku aside, of course).

JG

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Cavani is nothing like drogba.
let Drog go, bring in cavani and play C and Torres together.

20 May 2012 19:29:15
We only need three players: Right back, attacking midfielder and a prolific striker. Then Drog and Lamps can fill in when needed.

Believable5 Unbelievable7

We don't need right back we have Ivanovic

Agree0 Disagree0

Ivanovic doesnt want to play right back he prefers playing in the centre of the defence

ED, Just read that Chelsea has beaten Man U and Man C to the signing of Hazard even before their champions league victory on BBC football gossips. How true is this? {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

20 May 2012 19:21:31
This comments apparently made by Torres are being taken out of context and twisted by the media. Another thing i do not understand is when was Balague even able to have this interview. It was published like 9hrs after the final, barely enough time to stop celebrating and sleep. to me this just seems like he is trying to create a story to me, probably bitter that Barca didn't win.

Rowan

Believable5 Unbelievable4

U cant blame him if he wishes 2 leave i thought when he came on he was amazin only real attacking player he should have had a peno when taken down media always seem 2 twist things though

Agree0 Disagree0

Not disagreeing with what he said, but just think its been blown out of proportion. He will get 20+ goals in the league next year. Guy is class.

Rowan

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree. He stated in his interview that because of the result and the fans that he is "very happy". I assume for any world class player not being included in a champions league final starting XI would be difficult to accept. Personally I think that he has a central role to play next year. When he come on in the 84th minute, or whenever it was, he played with a determination the likes of which I haven't seen in him for a while. After all, he did win us that corner which Drogba buried!

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2012 19:02:36
Hi Ed, I've just seen a rumour on BBC saying that we have now moved into pole position to sign Eden Hazard from Lille. However, I thought that he was virtually certain to join united or city? Any truth in this rumour?

Jamie {Ed002's Note - I cannot say about "pole position" - and I have already explained what has happened.}

Believable0 Unbelievable5

20 May 2012 18:14:31
Apparently Torres has handed in a transfer request. This is from twitter so it's probably a lie.

Scruffy

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Torres has not handed in a transfer request! Someone has twisted the story which involved him saying he had some concerns that he needed to discuss with the club. I think Torres wants to stay at Chelsea but only if he is told he will be playing a bigger part in the first team and for this to happen Drogba must go!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, or else we'll need to convince the likes of Cavani, Higuian etc to come play second fiddle to a 34 year old Drogba, don't get me wrong, Drogba we'll always be a legend but i think it's time we looked foward and that's a new chapter. I'm not at all surprised with Torres' concerns.

Well done Chelsea. Im an LFC supporter but you did a job on both FCB and Bayern, so enjoy the feeling, youve earned it

ps not meant as a moan but personally I thought letting John Terry change into full kit including shin pads and join in the celebrations was an absolute farce ( sad man ). He deserved to be red carded and should have taken the consequences like a man.

Tel 1949

Believable8 Unbelievable4

He didn't actually wear shinpads, he just wore the kit, along with the other suspended players, and players that weren't on the bench, just to fit in with the photos that were taken, so they didn't look out of place with their regular clothes or suits.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2012 17:58:44
Do you think that Chelsea will assure Torres that he is a big part of their plans?

Believable3 Unbelievable7

20 May 2012 17:51:11
Ed what players are out of contract at the end of may? {Ed002's Note - None.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

ED have Chelsea made a apprach for Rafael da silva from Man utd? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware - seems very unlikely.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Drogba, Kalou and Bosingwa are out of contract at the end of June (not May).

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2012 17:40:00
Will winning the champions league make a big difference to who will be the manager of Chelsea at the start of next season? Would love Jose to come back and us to be the first club to win it two years in a row. {Ed002's Note - I doubt it but in some ways it could make it more difficult to find someone to take the side on.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

20 May 2012 17:09:43

20 May 2012 16:56:22
Hi Eds, i think your doing a great job and im really enjoying this site but i have one question about Torres:

i think he has been performing well in recent PL games but he hasnt played in the finals and thats understandable because Drogba is a big game player.

Its come out that he is not happy with how things are going, broken promises by the club and its partly down to his perfomance. I would really like him to stay but what do you think will happen to him, do you think he will stay or move on?

Thanks, Ollie22 {Ed002's Note - If he wants to leave and an acceptable offer is made then the club will not stand in his way.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Do you expect him to leave though ED02? {Ed002's Note - There has to be a very good chance.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers, Do you know if any clubs have an interest in him? {Ed002's Note - Juventus is a possibility, but we will see.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Juventus? They surely have other targets such as Cavani, so he cant be one of their top choices! I dont know why Torres would move to Italy, Its not a great league?

Agree0 Disagree0

So Drogba and Torres are likely to leave? that would mean having to bring in 2 top quality strikers ED.

Contrags to Chelsea and Ed002.
From Jim22 (LFC)............

Believable3 Unbelievable0

20 May 2012 16:32:19
hey Ed, is it true that we are really willing to pay 200 to 250k per week to hazard....coz if we are it is ridiculous......hazard is completely insane and stupid to even think about that sort of money......he expects to be paid much more than the likes of Drogba and Lampard who won us the CL...he may be a fine player but to think he would bully his way around on the basis of some good performances in an average league and against not even average sides just shows his disrespect for the game and pure greediness. {Ed002's Note - I have no interest in discussing wages, sorry.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

20 May 2012 16:25:04
Interview with Torres an he says how he wants to sit down with board and find out his place in the team and he doesn't want to be but part player, u really think. Ow that he will move on and falcao wil come to us, the new European champions, that sounds nice hey lol

ED002 what is the situation with Hazard? Will he reveal the club he is going to tonight? are man city still favourites? {Ed002's Note - Whilst he may yet again reveal where he wants to play, until a fee is agreed with Lille nothing can be formalised of course. Previously he has given plenty of hints - playing in North London, playing in blue, playing in Manchester, a stepping stone to Spain, moving to PSG ....}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

British PM David Cameron watched Chelsea's dramatic penalty shoot-out triumph over Bayern Munich alongside German chancellor Angela Merkel.

The pair saw the final moments of the European Champions League final played out on television together with other world leaders attending the G8 summit at Camp David.

As the drama approached its nail-biting climax Barack Obama was said to have diplomatically positioned himself between them as "referee". - great story

Congratulations from a Manchester United fan

I was in Moscow in 2008 and one of my remaining memories will always be the humility and respect shown to Manchester United by the Chelsea fans. Part of me wished we could have shared the trophy but you lost on the horrible lottery of penalties.

Well you won one last night, what a great feeling. The irony though is wouldn't Drogba have taken the final penalty in Moscow over Terry

Still trying to find words to describe how I'm feeling!!

Never been confident with Cech for pens but - wow - he was amazing!

Bosingwa and Luiz put in solid, no fuss, performances but Cahill and Cole were a class apart last night!!

I can't remember Obi Mikel having such an assured performance both defensively and with the ball! Lampards use of the ball was, as is the case 90% of the time, exceptional!

Bertrand, considering he was playing out of position and making his Champions League debut, looked every bit the quality youngster we all know him to be! Kalou and Mata, although quiet offensively, also put a big shift in for the team!

Drogba? Well he was just not going to lose that game, him slotting that pen away went straight to number one on my all time footballing memories list!!

Hi Ed, Needless to say absolutely overjoyed at the win, hopefully Di Matteo will be given a chance now. On to different matters, obviously lately there has been a lot of paper talk about the potential transfer of Hazard. In his classic fashion he has fuelled the rumours with the Manchester reference on twitter, vintage Hazard antics. This aside, I was wondering do Chelsea have a genuine interest in him and is there any potential of an attempt to sign him this summer? I understand the issue most likely remains with his attitude, however he would be a wonderful addition to the team. I would like to see us match Manchester City's ambition.

So proud to be a blue today.

Thank you for your time, you do a great job.
Joe {Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed in respect of interest but there was been a proposal made to see if Chelsea's well known concerns could be addressed to see if Chelsea would be willing to put an offer on the table.}

20 May 2012 01:02:59
Congrats to all blues fans.
Hey ed, did chelsea have any recent discussion with Lille about Hazard as reports suggest they had a breakthrough in negotiations on frigday. Any truth in that?
DASTANJ. {Ed002's Note - As I mentioned, all that has happened at the moment is that a representative of Hazard has made a proposal (not on Friday) about trying to resolve the concerns the club have to get them to put a firm offer on the table.}

Believable2 Unbelievable3

The concerns the club have are that he has basically prostituted himself around the top clubs of Europe, he needs to stop talking and let his agent get the best footballing deal for his client, hes going to get paid roughly the same i would imagine where ever he goes, he doesn't need to be commenting on every club daily though, which is why i believe the important person at Chelsea has a problem with his attitude.

PB {Ed002's Note - Broadly the issues with the player are twofold: (1) he has had some well publicised issues at Lille (leaving the stadium after being substituted etc.); and (b) the constant "playing" with teh media as you say. The same person has additional problems with his agents who are being seen to be perhaps "prostituting" the player for gain. Financial agreements have to be negotiated with Lille rather than agents or representatives. Lille are willing to talk to any interested parties once the season concludes in France - which is today.}
