Hi Edd i think Dzagoev would be a great signing! What do you think do you think he's good enough? would you like him to sign? Thanks
DW {Ed002's Note - Dzagoev has interested Chelsea in the past but Arsenal have shown a lot of interest this past year including sending a contingent to watch him play in Moscow back last summer. He will be available on a free transfer at the end of the year, not in the summer, if CSKA cannot strike a new deal.}

Believable2 Unbelievable3

In that case ed, considering that (I think) a player can talk to teams from a different country 6 months before the end of their contract, after the end of this month, can we can sign him on a pre contract agreement and get him in the new year?

Vincent {Ed002's Note - Chelsea would be able to talk to him as of July 1 and indeed he could sign a pre-contract agreement.}

Ed. Anything new happening in the talks with Porto for hulk or is there still a difference in price? Thanks, James. {Ed002's Note - There is nothing to report.}

ED do you think Cavani will leave Napoli this year? {Ed002's Note - There is a chance, but they do not want to sell.}

ed- what do you think about a move for Papisse Cisse as competition for Torres,he's already proved he can score in the premier league is there any interest? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable1 Unbelievable4

He JUST signed for castle?

Are you serious like actually serious ?

Hi Ed002, hows things?!? i bet u cant wait for July

Just wanted to ask you, when you say that price is irrelevant to chelsea and the fees of players arent an issue? are you saying that because you dont want to discuss then on here? or are you saying that because Roman/Chelsea arent bothered about how much a player cost because if the player is a good fit for the club, wants to come etc. the fee will be stumped up by the club regardless?

Cheers boss!

Appreciate your work buddy!

Dan1CFC {Ed002's Note - The price is not relevant in terms of discussion here.}

Ed, are Chelsea interested in Sakho? And out of interest what fee do you think would be needed to sign him? Thanks - James13 {Ed002's Note - Right now Chelsea are not looking for a centre back but if they were then there is a good chance interest in Sakho could be revived, although he could yet end up in Barcelona. We don't care about prices here.}

Guys ,what are all your opinions on James Rodriguez ?Cheaper than Hulk and Man u are after him.Porto are a very hard side to deal with as ed said but I do believe the guy has the talent to excel and we should atleast bid for him.He can play on the right and left and does provide good crosses and makes good runs.What about Rhodes as a back up striker?Young and has good finishing ability.
roan

Believable3 Unbelievable0

You've wasted a lot of time, we want the hulk, the hulk wants us, do the math

You blues

Rich

Agree0 Disagree0

Jordan rhodes? seriously...?! cant believe u just said that!

romans in his office thinking: " OOOh i know, we'll get a striker from league 1 to come and play for us. best put a big release clause in it though, otherwise barca might knick him! How much would huddersfield accept? 40..50milion pounds...?" idiot. you do realise technically we are probably the best football team on this planet at the moment? and you want jordan rhodes? please take a long hard look in the mirror and check you are a chelsea fan and not QPR

Agree0 Disagree0

What's with the major hate towards Jordan Rhodes? He's a fabulous young talent, ok agree with you that he's not what Chelsea are after at the minute in terms of backup for El Nino but that lad will be playing at a high level in the prem if he keeps going the way he is doing.

Rich

Agree0 Disagree0

Although i dont think Jordan Rhodes is good enough for Chelsea, there is no point splashing out 50 mill for somebody like Falcao when we only play 1 central striker. Torres is the main man this year, expect Hulk, Victor Moses and a right back and we will be pretty much set

Hi Ed. Is Neymar to Madrid a done deal and if not do you expect Chelsea to try and get him again? Thanks - James13 {Ed002's Note - There is no deal or move on the cards for Neymar right now.}

Hey ed, Are any clubs interested in Jordan Ayew of OM, Especially ass they have to sell to buy?

Scruffy {Ed002's Note - Nice and St-Et have requested the opportunity to take Jordan Ayew on loan and Sanfrecce had an offer turned down. Marseille do not intent to sell him.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

20 Jun 2012 17:13:56
ed any interest in Luc Castaignos from inter as he wants away from the club and could prove to be a very good back up striker and could be a great talent for the future {Ed002's Note - Not right now.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

20 Jun 2012 15:41:20
Ed. Are Chelsea going to buy another no 9 as back up or competition for Torres or will Lukaku be used? In Di Matteo's 4231 formation obviously you can only use one out-and-out striker so surely we are not going to spend £40m on someone like Falcao to sit on the bench? - James13 {Ed002's Note - Chelsea are interested in a striker as has been discussed at length.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Hulk would surely be used right of the supporting 3. He isn't a no 9. I heard the link with Huntelaar which I considered may be a backup/competition signing for Torres. I think it's an important issue. Everyone seems to think everything will be okay now Drogba has gone because Torres has position and confidence of the club, but what if he goes back to being terrible? - James13 {Ed002's Note - You seem to be contracdicting yourself after sending in a post saying it would be a waste to buy someone like Falcao.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not i'm saying you can't really buy someone like Falcao for £40m and put them on the bench so are we looking at buying a back-up or less expensive no 9 or will we reply on Lukaku. In terms of a back-up number 9 I would be thinking of along the lines of Huntelaar (around the £15m mark rather than £40m). Someone who can provide competition but also expect to, initially at least, play second fiddle to Torres. {Ed002's Note - I have explained where the interest is. You seem only interested ina team, not a squad and quite frankly this is just wasting my time.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry I didn't mean to waste your time - James13 {Ed002's Note - The point is James I have no time to sit around discussing such matter at length with posters.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll discuss it with you instead if you want. Look at Real Madrid for example, they have two very high quality strikers who compete for one spot.

I would have no problem at all with Falcao signing, or any other top striker for that matter.

IB.

Agree0 Disagree0

What about Ba for £7 million...? {Ed002's Note - Humbug.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are people complaning about the fact, we could sign another amazing player? it's not your money that is spent.

Agree0 Disagree0

Man City are an even better example. Even if Dzeko leaves they'll still have Aguero, Tevez and Ballotelli to choose from. Slightly better options than Torres, Sturridge and Lukaku I'm sure you'll agree.

If we're looking to build a stronger squad, then why not make it as strong as possible?

IB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said IB
Fans should remember Chelsea are not just trying to add to the team its about building a stronger squad
Many fans are just thinking of the team and not the bigger picture
Come on its not hard
Drebs

Agree0 Disagree0

Many forget that financial fair play rules are coming into effect next season and if they are not reached we could be deducted points and excluded from Europe ! {Ed002's Note - Rubbish.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If you read anything the Ed has been saying about the FFP rules on the site over the last number of months, you'd know that we really do not need to worry about them for another 2 or 3 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't need to worry about them at all fella's. There is still a long way to go until FFP come in, if they ever do. Melbourne CFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Players we sign are 95% are still going to be on the wage bill in 2-3 years time .....

Agree0 Disagree0

No, I hadn't forgotten the FFP rules. I just understand things better than you. No offence.

IB.

Agree0 Disagree0

What you don't understand is if chelsea bring in another big name striker for huge money then Torres sulk in a corner again and that causes tension in the dressing room...

Agree0 Disagree0

Quick response.

Squad rotation.

If Torres performs then I'd expect him to start most games. If he doesn't hit the form we know he's capable of then I'd rather have another top striker ready and waiting.

IB.

Agree0 Disagree0

What you don't understand is no player has a right to be first choice in any position otherwise we would only have 11 players and no squad.
Look at barca and real Madrid and you will see 2 top players in every position
Drebs

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres has already indicated he is not happy to spend time on the bench next season ...

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh I'm sorry. He'll just play every second of every match then, in case he has a paddy.

Torres will be rotated. We have a squad, not just 11 players.

IB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Try telling that to nando

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is it so hard to understand to be the best club in the world you need a first class SQUAD not just an eleven
If tores bangs in the goals I'm sure he will play but he needs to have competition
No room for ego's at the club
No player is bigger than the club

Ed. Is McEachran staying or going on loan next season? If he is going on loan are you aware which clubs are interested? Many thanks. - James13 {Ed002's Note - No decision has been taken yet.}

20 Jun 2012 15:18:34
Ed. Who decides which players Chelsea should buy? Obviously scouts make recommendations but then is it essentially Abramovich's decision with the advice of Emenalo? - James13 {Ed002's Note - In broad terms it is a collective decision with input from all parties. The owner is now trying to discuss the club directly with all players who are arriving.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

20 Jun 2012 15:05:39
Hi Ed,

Do you really believe that chelsea need a new right winger as Ramires proved last season that he was more than capable of playing there? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea maintain a squad of players not just a team of 11.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

20 Jun 2012 14:35:57
Ed I am assuming Courtios will remain on loan next season as it makes no sense for the hottest goalkeeping property in Europe to be on our bench when he could be gaining more first team experience, however our back-ups Turnbull and Hilario are not good enough and could cost us the title next season if Cech has a serious injury. Are there plans afoot to at least replace Hilario? I suppose it's worth keeping Turnbull as third choice for the English/homegrown quota but we need a better 2nd choice. Begovic would have been perfect if we had made the signing before Stoke realised he was better than Sorensen. Are we looking for a better back up and are there any names you have heard? - James13 {Ed002's Note - If Chelsea run short on goalkeepers next season then Courtois would come back from loan. Hilario has a new one year deal with provisions to opt out, but for now expect him to stay.}

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Courtios is arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the world already. Bringing him back to be on the bench as back up to arguably the best goalkeeper in the world would be counter-intuitive. Considering we are investing so much in the squad I think it is wreckless and absurd from a management point of view to risk wrecking our season because we don't have a quality back-up goalkeeper should Cech be injured. It doesn't matter if we have Messi, Ronaldo and Van Persie up front, with Turnbull or Hilario in goal for 3-4 months of the season you won't win the league. - James13 {Ed002's Note - Sorry you did not understand the response. Your whole point was about an injury to Cech and the others not being good enough. If Courtois were to be brought back from loan it would be to play.}

Agree0 Disagree0

But can loans operate in such a way that he can be re-called at any time? (whenever Cech gets injured). I thought the loan would have to be until the January transfer window or a season long loan? My concern would be we agree for Courtios' loan and then Cech gets injured 3 games into the season and we are stuck with Turnbull until January. Thanks by the way you are very helpful. - James13 {Ed002's Note - No, loans can have provisions build in to them.}

Agree0 Disagree0

We also have jamal blackman on our books, regarded of one of the best young keepers in the country.

Hi Ed,

I would love to see Ben Arfa on the right side of our attack next season, especially if the deal for Debuchy advances, as our right side would have good french chemistry. Both the players mentioned would help Hazard to settle as well as they are both french speaking plus Debuchy was a teammate of Hazard's at Lille. I think we should also look into the possibility of signing Ba for 7 million, as an alternative to the hugely expensive strikers we are looking at. What do you think of the possibility of Ba and Ben Arfa at the Bridge next season? {Ed002's Note - There is no interest in BA. There were many issues with Ben Arfa down in Marseille and Newcastle have done a fabulous job of sorting him out. There is interest from Chelsea but there are some concerns about him from some.}

Believable1 Unbelievable5

French chemistry this is not Ultimate Team! are you 12?

Agree0 Disagree0

If they play with each other for their national team thy are obviously going to know each others games better

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jun 2012 12:00:34
Are Chelsea set to make a bid for Debuchy now that Newcastles bid was turned down? I really hope we look at signing him as he has looked good unlike van der wiel during the euro's

Nick88ftl

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Hulk wants to go to chelsea and chelsea may get cavani :). Forget victor moses

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle will bid again so chelsea will have to be quick

What's hulk Cavani and Moses got to do with Debuchy? Completed different areas of the pitch!

20 Jun 2012 10:43:26
Hi Ed,

Are the reports true that Thomas Muller is considering his future at Bayern? Aren't Chelsea admirers of his? {Ed002's Note - Manchester United, Lazio and Chelsea failed with bids after the world cup. If he is available this summer there may well be interest from Chelsea at the right price. Expect a part exchange deal involving Manchester City and Dzeko as one option.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

20 Jun 2012 03:44:07
are we looking at klass jan huntelar or mario gotze could u plz tell me :) dukeofchelsea {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Huntelar is a dud! He could not score for real Madrid or ac Milan ! But scores for half rated sides... Chelsea should not go or him! It would be wastefull signing!

Agree0 Disagree0

I rate Huntelaar, i think he would do well in the prem, i hope we get him for the quoted 17m, Chelsea need another striker like Gudjohnson who doesnt need his ego massaged every game, an i think Huntelaar could be that man

Agree0 Disagree0

What you on about ? he would be a great buy at 17m, top scorer for schalke last season and top scorer in the bundesliga and schalke are by no means a half rated team coming 3rd and getting champions league next year thanks to him, and im assuming your only going off by what you saw of him in the euros when the entire dutch team were dreadful

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he d be q great signing

Agree0 Disagree0

Any striker that scores over 40 goals a season would be worth over £35 million but this guy as a £17 million release clause. Sign him!

19 Jun 2012 23:36:39
Hi Ed,

Was wondering if the likes of Bale, Jesus Navas, Yarmolenko or Gotze were considered possible alternatives to the over-priced Hulk?

Max {Ed002's Note - Not as an alternative to Hulk but Goetze has been of interest.}

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Why would Chelsea buy Goetze when they already have Mata and Hazard? Yes, Mata can play on the wing, as can Hazard, but three diminutive (less than 5'8") attacking players with good ball control doesn't make a ton of sense, unless Pep is becoming manager and this is Barca 2.0

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take gotze over hulk. Moving Mara over to the left wing would be no problem it's just getting hazard to play on the right which would be tricky. Those three would be able to put on a show.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought gotze was not available Edd? {Ed002's Note - Correct.}

Agree0 Disagree0

But yet Chelsea are still intrested? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea were interested but he is not available.}

Agree0 Disagree0

We are not going to buy hulk for £40 million just cause he is a couple of inches taller than Ramires or gotze ...

Heard that Chelsea have had a £4 million bid rejected by Wigan for Victor Moses. Dave Whelan is being his usual person and saying Chelsea have "no right to bid for him" and "he has to stay at Wigan". Looks a good young player, but if Wigan do want £10 million for him as reports say that is way over priced. You heard anything about this Ed?
CFCCAL

ED002 do you think Chelsea will make another bid for Moses?

ED do you expect Chelsea coming in with a new bid for Victor Moses?

{Ed002's Note - I know of no detail but understand who was behind the bid being made and there may well be another bid made.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Emenalo? Or Di Matteo? And aren't such decisions made collectively rather than one person being behind the bid? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - It doesn't matter who it is and decisions are made collectively.}

Agree0 Disagree0

£10m for Moses is overpriced! Are you crazy? He is the best young winger in the the country along with Oxlade-Chamberlain and has played brilliantly it what has been a rather struggling side despite their end of season good form, most of which Moses played a massive part in. He will be a future England interntional and will only get better. I think £10m for him is a bargin.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's chosen to play for Nigeria though mate

Agree0 Disagree0

I think 10m isnt bad when you consider 40m combined for downing and Henderson. Just saying.....

ED002 reports from Germany Suggest Bayern Munich may have also approached Guardiola to become the manager in 2013 and say they are 1 of 2 clubs being considered by Guardiola are the second option to him Chelsea?
