Have to laugh when some of our fans say Mikel used to be a attacking midfielder. Lets look at some facts slow as a slug, passing range of no more than 10 yards (sideways and backwards that is) 5 yards when he passes forwards, physically a beast but cant head and lets not even mention the guys shooting.

And then you look at someone like Fellaini of similar stature but more imposing, doesn't make sense.

So true which I hate to admit, never scored for us Mikel but has been the cause of many poor goals against us and partly for the poor build up and defensive football we play.

It made me laugh when the Nigerian coach said that Chelsea had ruined mikels attacking instinct and that he should quit playing for us.

I just wish mikel had listened or joined man u like he had first agreed to.

To be honest, mikel when he was younger was seen as an attacking midfield, and thats where hes so called 'potential' was noted..

I do not adore Mikel, infact I do agree to that he needs to be upgraded, but ultimately he is a chelsea player and part of a double winning and European champions side. He needs a little more respect from our fans. Yes he is not going to be suited to our new style of football, but as long as he wears our shirt, he deserves a certain amount respect.

Bosingwa & kalou played a big part & where are they? and mikel was attacking in the under 19 world cup he was higher regarded the the lionel messi. and he has scored once in the fa cup v macclesfield. BLUEBOY1

Mikel is a Chelsea player and to be honest, we should be supporting him! I don't think Man Utd fans hate Rooney even though he has that munted head on his shoulders!!

It is appalling that some of u will say what u are saying about a player of our beloved club, to u ShedLower, how many of his game did u watch before he came to Chelsea, the guy was a creator, he unlock defenses and not protect them before he came to Chelsea, believe it or not, converting him to a DM really affected his game in a negative way and that is why he will probably never fulfil his potential bcs naturally he is not playing in his best position which is an ACM. This was originally posted on here as being a light injury which was only supposed to keep Marin out of the Community Shield. Now it is mid September. Maybe. Reminds me of when Lampard was supposed to be out for 2 weeks but ended up being about 12 weeks instead with the club constantly saying he'd be back next week. I do sometimes wonder about our medical department.

Loserpool paid 15 mil pounds to get Allen, Barcelona paid the same amount to get Song who is a better player, Man city paid 12 mil for Rodwell who is just as good if not better, United paid 12 mil for Kagawa well to say he is better is an understatement, we paid 7 mil for Marin who could be the steal of the season.

All in all the scousers just love over paying for average brits........ More examples are Henderson, Carrol and Downing.

So I say to you all when ever you feel worried that we are wasting too much time to sign our players, remeber this fun Trivia.....

Attention seekers just want people to comment on there stupid questions ,, i suggest people read through the page,s before making comments , as what ever question you have 9 times out of 10 has already been answered by ed on a few occasions

Try looking at the post made at 15.22. Some guy who is clearly either a kid or just a transfer window fan has been slagging him off. Now his not answering, just like last summer, one person wrecks it for everyone. Asking the same question every two seconds and getting pissed off because we haven't signed hulk yet.

Erm...Bosingwa left the club at the end of June. He now plays for QPR.

Schurrle interests Chelsea however Leverkusen have rejected a deal and have said he is not for sale.

according to ed002 the club are still deciding what to do with Cavani and Hulk so its been a month and no chance ed? doubt it why would the club still be waiting when the deadline is 10 days away? to be fair ed you are correct in most cases when people about certain players however in the cases of marin oscar and hazard the deals were already done before you noted chelsea's interest in players its the same with Hulk and Cavani your stance over the 2 players has not changed over the past month you say there is nothing new to report really with 10 days left we still only have 2 targets and noone else? {Ed002's Note - Fine, if my input is of no use I won't give any more.}

For those of you who don't appreciate what the Eds do around here then go away and go spread your crap on twitter like you've been doing for so long up until now. If you don't like it, why come here? The Ed's information is the only real reason for this site being here, without them the site wouldn't exist!

The Star is reporting today that we have 're-entered' Cavani (oh er.) Is this simply cheap journalism or has there been contact in the last few hours? He would (IMO) be a fantastic fit.

These things take time, especially when dealing with clubs who don't min wasting time to milk a transfer for as much as they can get.

You have to remember, if this deal goes through it'll be one of, if not the biggest fee of the summer.

I still think we'll get either Hulk or Cavani by the 31st. Just be patient.

Hi ed, the striker situation is very interesting and i think all of us are curious to see who we will bring in and i know various names such as Hulk, Cavani, Schurlle and Llorente have been mentioned on this site but i was wondering if there was interest in any other strikers, because from what i have read there is a difference in price with Hulk and Cavani, Schurlle is not for sale and Llorente is close to joing juve so i wondering if we have interest in any other strikers?

Reports about Maicon again Ed - any truth in this one? Is it a case of sounding out Inter and the player to clear the path for a quick transfer if the Azpi one falls through?
Also, you mention the Hulk/Cavani situation is likely to go down to the wire and there could be other targets should neither of those deals happen. Any idea on these targets if their is a shortlist?
