Ed, I'm worried about our lack of interest in proven world class players, utd are looking to sign players like sneijder and nasri, and we are paying over the odds for unproven players such as pastore, if man united can meet players such as Sneijder's wage demands surely we can too.I just wanted to ask why do the club seem to be unwilling to invest in proven world class players?thanks Ed. {Ed002's Note - They just don't seem to have an interest in your favorite player, who seems to be Sneijder. That is all. Having bids on the table for Neymar, Pastore and Sanchez should be enough for you. A watching brief is also being kept over the likes of Aguero and Ganso. I really don't see the problem.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

I agree with whoever wrote this comment, Sanchez has chosen Barcelona, neymar has chosen Madrid.So do we really want to be a second choice club for these players.What's to say we buy them and Barcelona or Madrid come calling next season.They will expect to leave.It's not about getting the best flair players, I would rather see us buy team players.Lucio, sneijder, falcao, alonso and mata is who I would go for.

Agree0 Disagree0

I do see the problem ed, the fellas 100percent correct. I mean why look abroad when you have got the perfect playmaker in Samir Nasri available. I mean even If you just buy him aswell as whever else they may be looking at. The guy aint guna cost much either is he I mean come on whats 20 odd million to Mr Abramovich, he's got that in his back pocket. I agreewith you 100 percent mate, Nasri is class and Chelsea should be making moves for him. And If united want him then I think thats says it all dont it. He is class no doubt But Chelsea wnt bother because they think europe is the only way to go. {Ed018's Note - but chelsea doesnt have interest in Nasri at this point.there's nothing we can do about it]

Agree0 Disagree0

Again Santos chairman said that Neymar is not for sale.
Brazil is a country with economic expansion, living standard is geting higher, many clubs are ownership of rich foreigners who are able to pay similar wages to european clubs.

Obviously Brazilians want to keep their players in Brazil and they'll probably succeed.
Money can't buy everything.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't strat complaining about proven talent remember shevchenchko, ballack, deco. I'm love the new Chelsea they are trying to put together also you should stick by chelsea with whoever they buy, me personally I just lukaku, pastore and Sanchez. Would also love kaka or Diego but that ain't gunna happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Proven world class player who represented england in world cup 2010 - EMILE HESKEY. I think we should go all out for him. He should be available on the cheap and he's a prolific goalscorer who can also support torres.

Agree0 Disagree0

Diego? Heskey? I doubt that you 2 are even Chelsea supporters...

Agree0 Disagree0

Not too sure we should be jumping up and down quite yet. Man U have spent a lot on players who in truth wont improve their first 11. Lets draw breath and see which of the main targets sign on the dotted line. We have a new management team and no doubt they have targets but after all they have only been at the club for a few days.

Agree0 Disagree0

Diego the Brazilian is a proven world class player {Ed002's Note - There is no interest from Chelsea in the player.}

Agree0 Disagree0

How dare u question my support for chelsea. Emile was an england international and is the perfect support for torres and mentor for sturridge...

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Wesley is world class. Tho pastore will also be world class but one player is about 28 and one is early 20's. Were chasing players who are young which will bring success for Many years to come. Neymar-19, Sanchez-22, lukalu-18

Agree0 Disagree0

How dare I question your support for Chelsea? How dare you insult my intelligence with names like Heskey and Diego Hopefully the board isn't as blind as you.

Ed: You seem to think Mikel is on his way out (previous posts). But I think he is ok like Makelele disrupting opponents play? {Ed002's Note - There is a new manager now - we will have to wait and see.}

Believable1 Unbelievable4

We need to keep hold of mikel, will make a good waterboy for players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully he is. He slows the game down too much. Makele was different he broke the play up but moved the ball to on far far quicker.

Ed: Do you know anything about Cahill and Dunn? SKy Sports say AVB is interested {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Centre backs What we going for another centre back for Unless Villas boas plans to put Luiz at right back then I dont see the point in this. We have Alex, Terry, Ivanovic Bruma and Luiz

Agree0 Disagree0

Bruma has effectively left, one year loan with the option of a second, to hamburg i believe.

Ed: Do you think UK's weather makes south american players harder to attract? {Ed018's Note - possibly, it just seems they prefer to play in Italy or Spain}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

The main reason for this my friend is because of the PL itself Best and most hardest league to play in the world and the whole of europe knows this. Im suprised players like Neymar, Pastore, Sanchez ect ect might even be considering moves over here as they will no it will be twice as fast, twice as hard and 3times as cold lol. Chelsea taking a big risk in looking at pastore I think So over rated.

Agree0 Disagree0

Youve clearly never watched more than youtube clips of him this guy is pure class, imo we need to get pastore, sanchez and aguero this would undoubtedly get the best out of torres

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed ..I thought I posted this earlier but cant seem to find it. Have there been any developments on building a new stadium?
There was a rumour that we were looking at a site in NW London a few months ago. {Ed002's Note - NW London, no. Earls Court was looked at back a couple of years ago.}

Blues 4 live
I salute the club & particularly Abram, 2 have brought in a new coach, but he was nt actually.......perhaps, pls let us nt stop there cos we need trophys nxt season.some of our players are actually under performing, the club need new players to fortify the line up.we need smbody who will be substituting frank lambard, Ashy cole and another dangerous striker like Drogba.pls let us nt relent on this, more signings are actually needed.With all this no club in England will face us.tnks.
n/b.the new coach should pls always remember what he's been brought to do, players should be disciplined both on & off the pitch.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

We shouldn't get rid of Lampard he's one of the best players we have, same as John Terry and on form Drogba, we should definately sign Pastore and shoot Mikel he is useless. Our team should be this i think next season
Cech
ivanovic luiz terry cole
essien
modric/moutinho lampard

pastore torres drogba/falcao
( if drogba/falcao would adapt the the RW position)

Agree0 Disagree0

If Frank Lampard of last season is one of the best players that we have, we're in big trouble.

Learn how to let go - don't be a player hoarder. We owe everything to these older players, but the time comes when they just aren't what they used to be. Age and injuries do that to you. But hey... if you want to be the Boston Celtics of football, more power to you buddy...

Agree0 Disagree0

Well lampard was injured for a huge amount of the season and he is a class player, hes still got a season in him, i understand where your coming from and its a valid point but i do believe he will class again next season, ahh we'll see, cant wait for the new season

Agree0 Disagree0

Certain aspects of a players game is definitely altered by injuries, but you can't use that excuse when it comes to a player completing simple passes. Essien and Lamps supplied our opponents more than Torres and Drogba. Passing is a football basic.

This isn't change just for the sake of change. This is really needed. I doubt that a new manager and a summer off will suddenly knock 3 years off of these guys lives. I'm not saying that we need to bring up our youth team to the starting XI, but need to start looking at younger, pacier options. You don't get "flair" with 30 somethings. Lamps, JT, Drogba, Maloser, etc. are looking their age.

I came from Italy three weeks ago with the info that Pastore was likely to become inter milans, my man tells me now it's Chelsea who are going to sign him? And are the most likely club?

Hi Guys,
Great site, keep up the good work..
I've got a question about Sanchez
I believe that we had a deal in place for him during the January transfer window, what actually happened to stop this going through and why did we not have a pre contract put in place for this transfer window?

You may well have gone through this already but I cant find the answer anywhere, so your insight would be great thanks. {Ed002's Note - There was a January meeting with Chelsea and Udinese representatives attending in Monaco. Broad agreement was reached over the transfer before Giampaolo Pozzo said that the deal must include a loan of the player back to Udinese. Whilst Barcelona were apparently willing to agree to this until the end of the season, Pozzo proposed that whoever Sanchez moved to should allow him to be loaned back for 18 months – hence the end of any discussions.}

Hi Eds- Do you have any idea which club/league/counrty, McEachran will presumably be loaned out to?

Bolton seem to be doing alright will their loan deals... {Ed018's Note -i havent heard anything, but if he does get loaned out i'd expect it to be to an English team. but i'd prefer to just see him get more time at Chelsea}

ED, What do you mean about the Falcao deal is in the hands of hs agent? What does his agent have to do? {Ed002's Note - His agent will advice the player of offers available and which would be the best to take, if any.}

getting sick of the whole neymar thing santos his agent himself all holding the football world to ransom.
falcao or aguero would be great signings i hope pastore arrives if not sneijder with van der wiel to replace shocking boswinga.
sanchez for malouda + cash
ashley cole if he does leave for marcelo
josh mc loan
sturridge loan one more year
and ed are there any more young players being watched to follow paizon wallace etock

01 Jul 2011 13:32:37
ED002 why does AVB want a british defender? we have 4 quality centre backs this must mean 1 is leaving who will it be? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know anything about this, but Chelsea could have problems with hitting the 17 player non homegrown limit.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2011 13:27:00
Is Luiz leaving ED002? who does AVB want Dann? {Ed002's Note - There is no plan for Luiz to leave and I have no idea where any thought of Scott Dann has come from.}

Hey ed,

Chelsea fan from Australia here. First things first, you do a great job. Keep up the great work. On to business, it seems to have gone quiet on the Falcao front. Any news on him lately? Also whats the go with Pastore is it looking likely a deal will be done, if reports are to be believed we offered a huge offer for him. Thanks ed. {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new on Falcao. It was in the hands of his agent last I heard.}

ED002 Santos now say Neymar is non negotiable is this just a ploy by them his story changes daily? {Ed002's Note - I have just read an English transcript of the interview. I would just ignore it as what was said was that they would not be looking at offers "yet".}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2011 11:36:27
chelsea will not get neymer or sanchez but in for a shout to get pastore

Believable3 Unbelievable3

I would rather go for Sneijder, Nasri or Diego all of them are much cheaper and much better players than Pastore.
Neymar thank god is not comingSanchez still open poss.

01 Jul 2011 11:11:41
Hey Ed, not a question about Neymar, Sanchez or Pastore for a change What is the situation on a back up goal keeper? Hilario signed a new deal, is he actually going to be Cech's understudy next season? Are there interested in any others, Begovic? {Ed002's Note - A bid has been turned down by Genk so Chelsea are in the market. I really don't know why.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He wasn't talking about courtois {Ed002's Note - To make it clear, the club appear to be looking for an understudy - does that help?}

ed will u be watching copa america gonna be alot of chelsea targets on view and alot of players who havent moved yet but will
aguero/neymar/sanchez/pastore/ganso/tevez/vidal/falcao {Ed002's Note - I will try and watched condensed versions of some games as time allows.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2011 10:55:13
ed will chelsea send people over to copa america to
a) scout players
b) watch players who have been targeted (neym, asanc, pastore, aguero, , falcao, ganso)
c) watch own players (rami, dluiz)
d) tie up deals or influence players by maybe talking to advisors

because barca guy sandro rosell is going to talk to sanchez and real will prob send people to influence neymar i think we have to aswell or other teams will move ahead of us {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have scouts based in South America, plus those who were there for Neymar have returned from America to South America already. Although they are both due back in Europe, one will take a couple of trips back to Argentina during the competition.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Aguero yes, Neymar no, Pastore hopefully no, Ganso completely average player. To watch Messi, DiMaria, Diego, Mello, Alves, Hulk, Falcao-they could watch them whole year.

ed if what pAlermo saying about 50 million bid is true then y wouldnt he of accepted it as hes never gonna get a bigger offer {Ed002's Note - Because other offers have been made. Even though they are less cash, they are still of interest to Palermo as they will include part ownership deals.}

Hi Ed on your travels again WOW ur a busy man

Just wanted to ask you, (i know u dont like guessing and that) but our first pre season game is against Portsmouth on the 16th July, do you think we will be seing any new players arrive before that game? obviously it wont be the ones who are playin in the Copa America so...?

cheers bud {Ed002's Note - It would be guesswork on my behalf to say, but it is certainly possible.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2011 10:45:59
ed theres strong rumours still in portugal that chelsea are willing to pay more than madrid for coentrao and that its up to him
so im guessing cole wants to leave country with cheryl good move in my opinion as ashley cole wont go on for much longer {Ed002's Note - I understand it depends on Cole moving to Real Madrid - if he does, Chelsea will move for Coentrao. If not, I would expect to see Coentrao at Real Madrid.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2011 10:43:53

Ed, I know a lot is paper talk. But it seems all of targets want to go else where, such Sanchez, Neymar and pastore. Why dont players want to go to Chelsea and what's the point of going after these players, if they're not interested. {Ed002's Note - Any players who do not want to come, such as Eriksen, will be off the list of targets. That is where we are right now.}

Javier Pastore, according to the parlemo president, will not join chelsea, neither will he join inter milan, real madrid, man city or barcelona, but will join napoli. ed is this possible? {Ed002's Note - Everything is possible, }
It is not what he said at all. He said that he would like Pastore stays in Italy, but it's very unlikely Chelsea is first choice destination, no other clubs placed bid nearly. {Ed018's Note - i dont believe Napoli can meet the asking price for Pastore unless they sell. But i dont think Pastore would view moving there as an advancement in his career

Thanks Ed you just confirmed what I've said.

{Ed002's Note - The options open to other clubs who are interested include part ownership of the player - and that may be attractive to Palermo.}

I agree with Ed002 but Pastore will decide where to go for now Chelsea is first choice.

Ed, why has our interest in modric cooled? i'd rather sign him over any of the other players that we have been heavily linked with lately. His touch, poise, balance, control, vision and skill is unbelievable. Also he puts in more than his fair share of tackles. The only thing that his game lacks is goalscoring but we can fix that and he has proven his class in the premier league - the toughest in the world.

You'd have to say that chelsea's two main problems right now are 1. we lack wide players and 2. we lack creative midfielders. We can solve problem 1 by signing neymar and/or sanchez (i think we need to sign at least two wingers, such is the lack of width in our game) depending on how much money villas has to spend and problem 2 by signing modric or pastore. What are your thoughts on this? {Ed002's Note - I am not so sure that there was too much interest in Modric.}

ED could a possibility of getting around the financial restrictions be for example:
Chelsea are 100m in the red, so an outside investor suddenly puts 100m into the club.What I'm trying to say Is roman could transfer 100m from another business to Chelsea to balance the books. {Ed002's Note - No.}

1. Are we the club that has bid for pastore
2. Why the change of heart all of a sudden (changing from modric to pastore)
3. What is the sanchez situation
Cheers, really appreciate what you do for this sight

Sanchez would like to go to Barcelona but their offer is much lower than MCFC. Also MCFC can give him better salary. Neymar wants to go RM. I presume Barcelona will sign Nasri(not Fabregas since RM offered 45mil pounds for him) defender(good one)&LB.
Pastore is abs.overated other big clubs won't pay more than 25mil pounds for him, so CFC will help Palermo seriosly without reason.
I do hope CFC will get serious players not dices. {Ed018's Note - man this is all over the place. everyone going everywhere

Ive only really seen little bits of Neymar, would you say he is a similar type of player to Robinho?. Im hoping the fact weve been tracking the lad for a long time will convince him to join us over Madrid. Lets wait and see
Huge bid for Javier Pastore, rumours of a gentlemens agreement between Chelsea and Man city (Chelsea will stay out of the Nasri negotiaitons if City pull out of the Pastore chase). {Ed018's Note - ive had the chance to neymar play quite a bit latley. he is good and if he can mentally handle the fact he is at a big club and develope from there, he will be alot better than Robinho. but he has got to make sure to not allow his ego, that he does have, get in the way

Will Chelsea move for Aguero if Neymar does not come? {Ed018's Note - possibly although Sanchez is preferred at this point}

Absolutely, Ed002 was wrong about Juventus bid because it was around 25mil eur. That's why Atletico de Madrid rejected it. Their president said they would rather sell him to Real for 38 mil eur than abroad for 25mil eur. Spanish and Italian press. {Ed018's Note - Real have not placed any bid for Sanchez so i have no idea what you are talking about}
