after maloudas continued poor performances, AVB should go with Piazon against united the kid should be given a chance.... he may surprise a few....

Believable27 Unbelievable8

Would love to see that and to see the kid get his chance but just don't see it happening..he probably won't even be on he bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is really starting to annoy me now. No one and i mean no one has a clue about Piazon, they've watched a 3min youtube video of him playing for the brazil u17's and that he has a style of play like Kaka. The kid is 18 and has played a couple of reserve team matches and done well, but some idiots are suggesting putting him up against Scholes and Carrick on sunday, based on some hype and a youtube video. Lets get real and lets get serious, the kid is a kid and has just joined or reserve team, if he is any good and good enough to play in the 1st team the coaches will play him. Im sick of sloppy play from Miereles, Malouda and Mikel but these are the players we have until the summer.

PB

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good post, the kid has just gotten here from Brazil and has to get used to the English game. He's only a teenager and hasn't even fully developed physically. He is nowhere near ready to play against the big boys.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the second reply, I don't think you can really say that on behalf of everyone. I'm 15 (shouldn't be a problem) and took a keen interest over the summer of the various world cups etc..because they were players around my age. Piazon looked a very interesting player that has a lot of talent and ha the potential to grow into a Chelsea legend, my opinion. My judgement is not simply from a YouTube video and there are probably a lot of others that have watched him play properly.

Agree0 Disagree0

While were at it should we should start the 12 year old twins we just signed shall we?! give the kid chance to grow, chucking him into a game like this could set him back years!

Agree0 Disagree0

Indeed he looked very interesting but as you also stated that was at the u17's world cup with Brazil vs who?? Brazil played other u17 national teams, not Manchester United or Arsenal or a Man City and secondly he plays for Brazil he is supported by other potentially very good footballers. He is a midfielder signed from Sao Paulo that has a promising future, that is what the reserve coaches have said on him and that is what everyone should listen to because none of us can make a judgement sat on youtube or watching a couple of u17 international games. Let him develop in the reserve squad and lets hope his ability is potentially world class and in a few seasons we can watch a technically gifted fantastic player. When and IF he is good enough his time will come.

I would say well done for watching u17 international games, alot of promising future talent on display and shows you love football and not just the big boy premiership clubs.

PB

Agree0 Disagree0

PB, I get what you saying and to a certain level I do agree with you but on the other hand a player like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain probably would have got maybe 5 minutes in the cup so far if he played for us..I think the youth at our club needs more of a chance to grow and blend with the first team. Admittedly the only difference here is that chamberlain is more built for the premier league right now.

And thanks, I do love football, it's a massive passion and I don't know if you saw the u15 world cup but the Brazilian team had a number of unbelievable prospects in there. Ones to watch for the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree with you, our youth does need more time but certain youth in my opinion, McEachran, Bertrand, Hutchinson, Lukaku are examples, not a Islam Feruz, Lucas Piazon or a Jacob Melis.

I would rather have McEachran play atm than Miereles, he has good vision, has an array of passing abilities and seems to have great vision, this has been developed over many years at Chelsea, learning the way we play, familiarity with the 1st team and 1st team experience on pre season tours, fa cups, carling cups and the prem. Piazon on the other hand has no experience like this and this is the point im trying to make my friend.

Essien, Lampard, Ramires, Romeu, Mikel, Miereles is what we have to choose from this season :( lets just hope we get top 4 and build for next season.

PB

Agree0 Disagree0

I dosnt matter about age! if your good enough, your good enough no matter how old you are and watching a few games of his in the reserves and youth teams he looks very talented! give him a go, he has a better attitude than malouda who looks like he cant be asked!. If not from the start, then from the bench!

Agree0 Disagree0

He looks very talented in the youth and reserve teams....well, yes however he has made a lot of mistakes too (expected at that level). We have a lot of players, including Piazon, who will be challenging for a regular place in the 1st team squad over the next couple of years however IMO it is far too soon to put him in against Man Utd.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look at wayne rooney and jack wilshere playing fairly often in the premiership at 16.......arsen wenger plays a lot of 17,18yr olds ect.. and they benefit from it in my opinion, not saying we should rely on him to be a key player but give him game time,ten mins here ten mins there, experiance is vital! hence seding young josh on loan, lukaku is in the same boat....

Agree0 Disagree0

I see what people are saying about Piazon not being ready but for what?! I don't think in the position and style he plays, he could do any worse than Malouda who is actually our worst player at the moment. In fact Piazon could even be a better selection as he WANTS to play. Malouda looks slow and bored, especially as part of the midfield three (as it was against Swans)

Agree0 Disagree0

He is going to be great. but is he ready for man u?

Agree0 Disagree0

Having 10 men would be better than putting malouda in. stick mata into his postion and play lukaku in matas position like we did at the end of the swansea game

Hi Ed, 2 questions
1) What squad number will De Bruyne take?
2) Is he going out on loan, to Genk or another club?
Thanks, appreciate the work you do
Cal {Ed002's Note - No idea about the number but he is staying at Genk.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

He is number 14

Agree0 Disagree0

He wears 14 at Genk and 14 is available at Chelsea, but I'm not too sure if he has a strong relationship with this number. To be honest, just to be given a squad number is a huge privilege, so I don't think that Kevin really cares what number he wears as long as it's on the back of a Chelsea shirt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Ed and others
Cal

Agree0 Disagree0

Not been assigned a number yet and yes he has been sent back on loan to genk he is a great promise for the future

hi ed, transfer window closed now, were we close to signing any other players or did we make any bids on deadline day ? cheers mate {Ed002's Note - There was a bid for Moura yesterday.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Was it rejected? {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you know why it was rejected ? and how much were sao paulo looking for him ? {Ed002's Note - The moey was the reason and the amount is irrelevant.}

Hey Ed

not strictly Chelsea-related but why has the van der Wiel deal collapsed for Valencia and does that make him interesting for Chelsea again?

Cheers

B {Ed002's Note - Ajax wanted 2M euros more than Chelsea wanted to pay. But VDW wants a move to Valencia.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Don't get why he wants to move to valencia! 2million is tht it for someone of tht talent, how much did thy want ed? {Ed002's Note - 8M/10M.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thts a bargain! Used sign him up!

Agree0 Disagree0

Excuse my ignorance, but why do we pay what we did for a young winger and striker, but not prepared to pay 8/10 m for a proven first team player? We needed a right back, but spent 1.5 m on a championship striker, could have put that into GVDW. Wages weren't mentioned as an issue.

Hey ed, De rossi, Montolivo and Farfan are all free agents in the summre are we interested,

These guys are free agents as well. Farfan, Adler, Tymoschuk, Pranjic, Olic, van Buyten, De Rossi, Flamini, Montolivo, Pandev, Chivu, Hoilett {Ed002's Note - The summer is way too far off at the moment.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

De rossi would be a good addition to bolster up the midfield since it seems quite scrappy at the moment with the dodgy possession and passing.

ed with hazard and moura is the case we sign either one or the other or wud we want both as that wud b alot of money to get both although there desperately needed {Ed002's Note - The club remain interested in both.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So we would sign both if we agreed with their clubs {Ed002's Note - We have to wait and see.}

ed do u think jovetic cud b available in the summer as hes not going to get anywhere big with fiorentina and would we be interested thanks {Ed002's Note - It is too early to say.}

Ed, I may be being stupid here, but why are the olympics so important to Brazilian players? Why does it matter which club they play for come the olympics?

Rowey {Ed002's Note - It is good PR for Brazilian clubs and their sponsors. Many Brazilian players have their wages paid through direct sponsorship so it is a high-profile event they look to exploit.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

But surely if we signed him now, they wouldn't need any sponsorship to pay his wages, because we would be paying them?

Rowey {Ed002's Note - It helps them keep high profile and allows them to attract more sponsors.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, do u think Chelsea will go back in for him? N do u reckon moura would join Chelsea! {Ed002's Note - Possibly but much would depend on what price can be agreed. I think there is a chance he could make the move but it would also depend on interest from elsewhere - particularly Inter Milan.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard him qute once that he prefers england style of football and surely inter cant outbid us cud they {Ed002's Note - A move to INter offers other options, such as partial or third party ownership.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Inter Milan I don't fill are the same force anymore! Well hopefully Chelsea can sign him looks like a reall talent! Energy n skill would fit nice with ramiers!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed do we have good relationship with sao paulo as we did piazon deal wid theem {Ed002's Note - I am not sure you could call it a relationship really. It was a business transaction.}

Hey ed. Do you expect a deal to be struck before the summer for Moura?

Chelsea USA {Ed002's Note - Please read the other posts.}

Can anyone tell me anything about Bamford;

What type of striker is he?
Is he in the England youth setup?
Why have we signed him?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Bamford is a quality player! He has recently scored 9 goals in 2 games in the F.A Youth Cup and was free scoring in the Nottingham Forest Reserves. He has also had an England U18 call up. You have a great young player now! Hot prospect for the future trust me!

Forest Fan

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a proper number 9! Tall, fast, and a great finisher. He scored a hatrick against Chelsea in a youth cup friendly. He's forests best prospect to come through for a while and they offered him the best deal anyone of his age (18) has ever been offered at forest, however he was always going to leave. Good signing for Chelsea!

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy Carroll was also a proper no9.

Regarding the Lucas Moura attempt yesterday, do you know if that was with a view to him joining in the summer? Do you feel that we will try for him again in the future?

Thanks for the updates over the transfer window btw. {Ed002's Note - The intention was for him to move immediately. There may well be a further effort in the summer but next winter is more likely (After the Olympics and after the Brazilian season id over. His agent is pushing to involve Inter Milan.}

Hi Ed's
Thnaks for all your work on the site, especially over the last month.
I was wondering if it is still posisble for Chelsea to sign anyone on a loan deal?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - Not now.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I want to say thank u too, All ED's. You are great.

I am a bit dissapointed with us not signing any big name. But we should all believe in our team. 4th place would be enough for me this season.

Also one more question ed: how many people do you expect to leave in summer? {Ed002's Note - Several.}

So who was the player we tryed to sign then ED02? {Ed002's Note - There was an attempt to sign Moura yesterday.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

No agreement reached with the club then? Or was the player not keen.

Agree0 Disagree0

That would of been so good!! ohwell all chances gone now!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed do u think a deal can be reached in the summer or will Chelsea look elsewhere {Ed002's Note - The summer may be difficult because of the Olympics and end of Brazilian season in November.}
