And he's apparently not on the best of terms with the Madrid hierarchy either over their handling of Higuain's injury and also are holding back on signing a new striker until the summer as Perez has struck some arrangement with Llorente from Bilbao.

David Luiz deal not far away which may include Bosingwa or Paulo. Chelsea hope to move both on regardless to make room for Gregory van der Wiel. Ideally they intend to move on Bosingwa now rather than losing him for free in the summer if not to Benfica to someone else. If Paulo does not move as part of the Luiz deal he will be sold in the summer. Ivanovic will revert to RB with Luiz in at CB. Chelsea are hopeful Alex will be back to full fitness for the Champions league as Luiz is cup tied.
This summer will also spell the end of Hilarios chelsea career who will bw out of contract while Yuri Zhirkov will return to Russia for in or around the 18 million chelsea paid for him. They may also be willing to listen to offers for Drogba if Marseille come calling.

{Editor's Note: The only point I would take exception to is Ivanovic. The reasons for stalling over the new contract is that he does not want to play at right back except as providing cover. He wants to play at centre back.}

What Chelsea need to do - my opinion. So don't hate. . appreciate.

A) Mikel, Sturridge, Kalou and Ferreira out. Average players who are made to look better by other players around them.

B) Abramovich to get his chequebook out - on 4 or 5 good players and we're sorted. David Luiz, Alexis Sanchez, Javier Pastore and Alexandre Pato.

(Optimistic to get all four, but why not? - Chelsea are arguably one of the top five teams in the world right now, and if anyone disagrees, they're simply disillusioned.)

C) Give the youth some decent playing time to nurture them. If we get the above, most games we'll be 2 or 3 up before half time in 25 out of 38 games a season. No doubt McEachran, Kakuta and Bruma have the ability to become decent players.

D) Get Mourinho back!
(Never happening, but we can dream eh?)
