Hello Eds. Do chelsea have interest in Ricky van Wolfswinkel ?
He really is a star oprising and could be worth twice what he is now in a couple of years, he is still young and has proved he could score goals. Since we havent had the best of luck buying good expensive strikers, he could maybe be of interest from Chelsea?.

Gustav. {Ed002's Note - No.}

Ed we are obviously looking for another striker in January hopefully Falcao I hope we keep Torres and sell Sturbridge my major area of concerns are the who sit in front of the back 4 at the start of the season we had 6 sold RM let Essien go on loan and probably sold at the end of the season Mikel goes in January for 4 weeks there s talk of Frank going in January leaving us short is the club looking at anyone in January to me Fernando looks the obvious choice but we all know Porto will want top money for him I know the striker situation is the primary recruitment position but is the club looking at reinforcing the DM role? {Ed002's Note - Nobody buys players just to cover for the African Cup of Nations.}

Hi Ed a few questions.

1. Is their still interest in Lazar Markovic? Have Partizan indicated they would be willing to sell at an acceptable price to Chelsea yet?

2. Is their still interest in Gerard Deulafou?

3. Does Essein have a recall clause in his contract for January, alot of Chelsea fans feel we need a solid presence in CDM.

Thank you

PB {Ed002's Note - (1) Markovic is a young Serbian footballer who has attracted the attention of Milan, Fiorentina, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayer Leverkusen and Espanyol. The player is keen to move to Chelsea and a move somewhere in January is possible, but Partizan Belgrade may price him out of the market. (2) Yes. (3) I have no idea what his contract says but he won't be coming back.}

Hey ed, are there any teams interested in Pierre emerick aubameyang? Hes fast as hell and a good finisher aswell, he would score a lot of goals at Chelsea.
CRUSTY {Ed002's Note - After a year at St Etienne Aubameyang has attracted the attention of Aston Villa, Spurs and PSG, probably amongst others. He has said in the past the one day his dream would be to return to play with a great Milan side. I don't see him leaving the Geoffroy-Guichard in January.}

hi eds
i just read a report saying if pep guardiola became our new manager we would be very likely to sign luis suarez because guardiolas brother is suarez's agent.
also it says that abramovich is keen to have falcao and suarez, if he can get torres of his payroll
is any of this true?
thanks matt {Ed002's Note - Chelsea has a manager.}

Hi, Do we retain interest in Schurrle? (at the right price)

Has his club softened towards the idea of him leaving them?

Are you guys ready for the torrent of abuse you'll get at the end of the next transfer window if ALL of your advice isn't %100 proven?

Thanks, Nathswindon {Ed018's Note - yes there is still interest in Schurrle but Leverkusen still does not wish to sell him. abuse is not tolerated on here, posts will be deleted and people will eventually be banned if it continues. this site is not intended for internet warriors to come on here and act like fools}

The results are going south this time of the year for the 3rd and some may say 4th season in a row. Three different managers at the helm. You can't blame it on them.

The problem is the same. We can't score, get desperate and let stupid goals in. Team relied on Drogba and Lamps to provide at least 50 goals a season. Now we get none from those positions.

Playing with a lone striker you need a beast, a predator. A Drogba, a Cavani, a Falcao. We have none. Torres is not gonna work. And Sturridge should be sold at first opportunity. Again, i solely blame it on football operations department. We are shorthanded. We couldn't get to bring in a striker. We failed with Neymar bid. Schurrle, although i love the guy is not a lone striker either. Problem is there are two great strikers i think could do the job.

But both cost a fortune. You won't get Falcao or Cavani for a Shevchenko type of money. So we should either pay the price or looke alternative route. That class of strikers are a rarity.

Soon the talk of Mourinho coming back and Guardiola lurking will start, or restart. But it is not RDM fault, that Torres can't kick a ball, or Mikel pass without killing the tempo, or Ramires pass rather than run. Our front has to go back to Cech, pick a ball and play it in from there, where in fact they should be receiving it in the opposition half. The only player at the back who can pick up a pass is Luiz, but that leaves the back shaky when he rushes forward. And you know what happens then.

When i hear we are giving improved terms to Mikel who is on 80 K a week, it makes me puke. Yes he wins the ball, can hold the ball, has obvious qualities but too obvious lacks in proper quality.

I know what i would do. Hope we solve it in January.

I agree with most of what ou've posted JG however have to disagree with the lone striker analysis. Playing with a beast of a striker is one option....I firmly believe the other option is a player who makes intelligent runs, works for the team and is technically capable (i.e. Tevez, Aguero, Suarez). Neymar is a slightly different option and by looking how he plays with the national side, he operates in a very similar role to what we are using Torres for. I'd discounted him as a viable option previously however with the style we're looking to play, can't help but think he'd be a perfect fit.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that we really need a striker that can bang in the goals but if we cant get a beast of a striker we could also change the formation to 3-5-2 or 4-4-2, 4-3-3 you know theres alot of combinations. Lukaku could be recalled aswell who is quite good.

But i have to agree with you Mikel getting a improved contract is just f*cking ridiculous, he is at best a squad player he is not good enough for this style we play. He was good for last years play style but he has no were the skills needed for the current style, he cant even get the ball forward without losing the team a chance for a counter attack i am gutted RDM dont give Romeu all the chances he can get because he cant do any worse.
This is one or the biggest issues that the pivot cant get the ball forward, and Ramires isent much of a technical god with the ball either so it force Oscar to run up and down every attack.
I really hope we get somone like Paulinho and then, give Mikel a contract where he earn less money and give him a place on the bench behind Romeu. Cause he is not a player we need and i am suprised RDM makes so many stupid calls, making wrong substitute, playing players in wrong positions and is playing wrong people together in pivot/center defense. And it wil keep cost us alot of points until he shows some balls and kick Luiz,Mikel,Torres down to the reserves until they improve if not get sold, I'd rather see Sturidge plays cause he actually make a THREAT where Torres just hangs out with the defenders and chat. Luiz is flying around like a crazy sometimes and custs us alot of goals, and Mikel destroy our attacking pace more than the team he is playing against.

D.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you guys count how many times a game do our light guys get knocked off the ball without being given fouls? Mikel looks like a player only because he is probably the only one in the team, outside defenders, who can stand on his two feet during and after contact. Also, the only one outside defenders who can win the ball.

Say whatever you want, but we just lost one solid man of weight with this new lineup. An we still play in England, mind you. How many time a game Torres goes down due to shove? We just run forward, get a shove, lay on the ground with arms stretched out looking for a call and no call comes. Sound familiar?

This is why i have said here on numerous times, if Mikel had any pace and passing ability, he'd be great. If he also scored a goal or too, he'd be a hero. But he does none of it. Same with Torres, if his second step was anywhere near his first one, he'd be scoring goals with his accuracy, but he just slows it down and looses ball, that's all.

We are seriously too lightweight. Just imagine what a Yaya Toure or Fellaini type would add to our gameplay. Or a Drogba at his prime instead of Torres. Suddenly we start looking great.

And yes, Luiz needs being benched.

Morning Ed002. A few questions.
1. With Cavani's agent 'shopping him around' for lack of a better term, is Napoli open to selling the player? I know he has just signed a contract in the summer, but surely that could be to have raised his price.

2. Do we still hold an interest in the player?

3. Do you expect him to move in January.

Thanks in advance

Melbourne CFC {Ed002's Note - (1) His agent is not "shopping" him around as far as I know. (2) If he were available he would be of interest at the right price. He isn't and the price that Napoli say the would accept is far from the right price. (3) Not right now.}

Hi edds and everyone, first of all im from Venezuela so im realy sorry for My english (we speak spanis). I've been follow this forum for a while and congratulations for the good work.
The reason i finally decide to post si because i read about Falcao, Huntelaar, Neymar and other strikers, and we really need a striker. But i dont understand why no one is talking about Demba Ba, that guy has already socored 8 goals in premier league, to me is one off the best strikers PL have. And i read that he has a buyout clause of 7.5 ml?? So the question edds is What is his actual situation? And Is Chelsea interesed in him? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea has no interest in Demba Ba at this time.}

What should be done in January:

We should most definitely go out and splash the cash and Falcao, he would win us the League, and we would have a far greater chance of retaining the Champions League, for as long as he is at the club, I will continuously support Fernando Torres fully, and I will still think he will come good, but a striker needs to be bought and Falcao should be the man.

Another Midfielder is in desperate order in my opinion, it's unlikely De Bruyne will be recalled, but he is being brought in as Frank's replacement, and he is doing well at Bremen so we should let him have a full season of steady progress. I feel efforts should be made for Fernando of Porto, he would be brilliant along side Rami and would be an excellent player for De Bruyne and McEachran to play along side, as he would allow to use their attacking attributes.

The Defensive Situation. Luiz is our fourth best center back, yet he is played as our second. Our strongest back two Center-Backs at the moment is Cahill and Ivanovic as Terry is out, yet Luiz plays. He doesn't take anything seriously, he is lackluster in his tracking of players, and he is completely reckless. He is not a defender, and Di Matteo is a smart guy, I can't believe he hasn't realized this yet. I doubt a Centre-back will bought in January as we have good young Centre-backs at the club like Ake, Kalas and Chalobah.

Thoughts?

PR!
