Ed just a quick question about Fabio Borini. Why did Chelsea let him go for free 12 months ago? He seemed a good talent and he's in the Italy squad for Euros.

Was it he didn't want to resign or chelsea not rating him? {Ed002's Note - He wanted assurances before signing a new deal and Chelsea would not give them.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Wonder if there is any chance of him coming back as a back up {Ed018's Note - No}

will we be going back in for Lucas like recent reports have suggested?

henry {Ed002's Note - We will see. There is an impasse right now. RM have failed with a cash plus player deal and Chelsea's offer is on the table.}

Thanks for taking the time to reply to this. appreciate the good work

Hi Ed,
I wanted to ask you a couple of questions regarding incoming and outgoing transfers at Chelsea.
Is the deal for Hulk complete or is a price still being negotiated? Who is our most likely new right back? I ask as we have been linked with Mathieu Debuchy, Cesar Azpilicueta as well as obviously GVDW. Also, have Chelsea approached either Everton or Newcastle for Fellaini or Cabaye? Finally, what players could we see leaving the club over the summer? Players like Meireles, Fereira and obviously Drogba linked with moves and wondering if there was any truth to them.
Thanks for your time and sorry for how long the question was.
Bennig {Ed002's Note - You need to read the posts and use the search function - all of this has been doen to death already.}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Drogba 'Linked' to a move? Is that question even really worth answering..? Supporters of foreign teams would probably know more about Drogba than what you seem to know... He's already left Chelsea, there was no contract extension at the end of the season and he has already stated he will be starting a new chapter in his career.

ed any interest in gaston ramierz from bologna ? {Ed002's Note - Not too recently, but in the past, yes. Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club but would not be at all surprised if a push was made to sign him. He was available in January for about 15M euro plus a signing on fee - but Liverpool did not follow up on their initial enquiry. They will not now listen to offers less than 18M euros. However, Ramirez will move in the summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus, who have made a firm offer. Unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Spurs, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested. Sevilla were interested but I understand that Ramirez has no interest in such a move. Discussions took place between Bologna and Manchester City - adding to discussions that have taken place with Juventus and Napoli.}

Hi ed 002 , not so long ago someone asked if you could see the deal for hulk going through and you said eventually it was most possible that it would . Do you still have the same opinion ? thank you
tomcfc {Ed002's Note - There remains a good chance. The transfer window is not even open yet, so plenty of time Tom.}

Chelsea are on the verge of completing a £11,000,000 deal for Croatia's right fullback and skipper Dario Srna.

Believable7 Unbelievable15

Isn't he almost 30 years old?

Agree0 Disagree0

This player is 30yrs old Chelsea are looking to lower the age of the team.
Drebs

Agree0 Disagree0

Too old

Agree0 Disagree0

Where have you got this drivel from?

Agree0 Disagree0

The deal will be confirmed by the end of June. He has recently turned 30 and with the rest of the squad already looking much younger the board want a player with his experience to complete the backline for the next 2 years. Believe it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Typical, watch him in the euros, looked good so there for he's coming to chelsea. what a load of c**p jim99

Would be surprised

hes been told hes our main striker next season

hope he doesnt go

curt

Agree0 Disagree0

There appeared to be some resentment between him and RDM, he may just put in a request to leave, and by what Ed has said, the club would accept that. Hope not, but who knows.

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres would be mad to leave. what with the creative talent were buying hes gunna bang them in for fun next season.Plus the public reasurance of the club that hes no1. very much dow't he will leave. jim99

Having RDM at the club tells us a couple of things...

1) We won't sign a new defensive midfielder - he was clearly a fan of Obi Mikel who should ultimately continue to share the holding midfield role with Romeu and Essien. I think he was one of, if not the, most improved players last season.

2) The 'old guard' will still have a big part to play - Drogba has left leaving a huge gap for Torres to fill up front but Lampard, Terry, Cole and Cech will still form the spine of the team under Di Matteo. They'll certainly feature in the big games. Obviously we'll have to see how much Terry's trial impacts his season!

3) Youth will get their chance - name me another one of our former managers who would have risked Bertrand against Munich? The risk payed off and showed a willingness to give youth opportunities, if they are good enough! Good news for McEachran, Piazon and co going into pre season.

4) You can take educated guesses on both signings and formations - given the quality of youth coming through and Di Matteos' trust in the old guard I can really only see two more signings...maybe three (depending on Sturridge staying or going)! They'll be a right back and a right winger, plus maybe a striker! In the majority of games we'll line up 4-2-3-1 and in other games against stronger opposition we'll line up 4-4-1-1!

Surewould {Ed002's Note - Terry's trial won't impact the season at all. A subsequent charge by the FA might well result in him being banned for several games.}

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Good shout Surewould. Gotta say point 3 is what gets me most excited if it comes to fruition.

Morning guys and EDs . Alright ,I Woke up this morning to read that Juve are going for Torres (papers say €30 mil ). At The start of the calendar year I might have been really happy to hear this, but right now, not so much. Nando looks good again, plus we just got two creative players to provide the ammunition which will make things a whole lot easier for him. And I must say I'll be really gutted if he leaves. I guess right now the only person I want leading the line for Chelsea is Torres (don't we all). But then again what if Juve up the bid to like €40mil (a little imagination would be required please)? It would be hard to turn them down, I mean we all know Torres is 28, we spent 50 mil on him, hasn't lived up to it, and we get a really good offer for him?! I still say we keep him irrespective of what Juve or any other club offer ( except if its a ridiculous amount and we all know that's never gonna happen). Bottom line is I want Torres at Chelsea ,so he can shut the critics up! What do you guys think?

ELI

Believable13 Unbelievable2

Be stupid to sell him for half price just as he seems to be getting better,we will see tonight gotta remember spain were playing ireland wich was like him scoring a hattrick against lecster

Carefree

Agree0 Disagree0

Only way I sell him is if I get back 75% of what was payed and we have cavani locked in coming in to replace him for a similar fee to what we payed for Torres. That is the absolute only condition I would consider it.

maybe it is motd fever, but i think bendtner was awesome in the euro's.....he has good height and better than average finishing...plus played quite well for sunderland last year...constantly keeps scoring off his head....maybe he is the second-choice striker we have been looking for....any interest in him?

taby {Ed002's Note - No.}

Good Morning all, can someone please confirm or not the rumour about Juve putting a 30 million (euro) bid in for Nando?

Thanks

Dan1CFC

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Juve have been linked with him for a while, they may have some interest but it seems a bit of a coincidence that this comes out the day after Napoli price them out of a move for Cavani! Idol journalism in my opinion!

Torres to remain at Chelsea!

I doubt he will leave
