Ed018 , know of any interest in any new players?

Thanks for all the help!

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed018's Note - no. It was mentioned that they would like to bring in 1 or 2 new attacking players and they would probably try for Griezmann. That's all I've got.}

Isco is apparently avaliable. He would make a much sense as Greizman.

Ed018, one more question, I remember reading something where Chelsea stepped back from any deal to sign Marco Reus some time aback because of a significant issue becaoming clear. Have you any idea what this issue was or is? Can you please shed some light on this if you possibly could.

{Ed018's Note - I don't know what the issue was or is}

I explained in a previous comment but it appeared nobody believed it. Go into Google or similar and explore newspaper reports regarding Reus driving without a licence and speeding and being fined the largest amount ever in Germany, some £427,000 at the time there was speculation that Chelsea were close to signing him. Within days of that fine believed to have been paid by his Club he was investigated again for continuing, an investigation that is possibly still on-going. Therefore I cannot see Chelsea resurrecting their interest.

I saw that Frensham - best explanation I've heard. Seriously regrettable, as Reus would be my preferred offensive reenforcement. I know getting a license is a pain but lots of people seem to manage.

Hi Eds, any truth with us being linked with any of these players, Ibrahimovic, Verrati, Lacazette and Greizman? Thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - there is still interest in Griezmann and probably Lacazette. I doubt the other two but don't know for sure}

Ibra is avail and could work with jose, I would get him in and cancel falcao's loan, like taking a ripped pair of trainers back to the sports shop

LOL Allegedly we are offering 28m€ for Griezman.

I heard that, if true there's no point at all. It's a waste of time that will get rejected in the blink of an eye. I suppose it tells athletico that our interest is genuine but that's about all

Come on, it's a Mirror Exclusive - treat the story as it deserves to be treated.

It sounds completely ridiculous. Griezman has 80m€ release clause.

I don't see why we would bid for him now when he's release clause has just been raised. makes no sense

The release clause is nearly always a point of compromise. Griezmann's previous clause was not good for AM and the player has said there were lots of discussions between him and his agent but nothing put to him so there was interest and some believed to be from Chelsea. AM increased it to £58m and almost certainly know there will never get that but they have a strong position of compromise. Chelsea have a good relationship with AM and suppose they up their offer to £30m cash (which they need) plus say Cuadrado, suddenly there may be interest which would not have been there with his previous release clause. It's a game of two halves and we may be able to secure him, maybe not.

Frensham than he would really cost 42+33=75m€

Antibot: I threw that in as an example and to indicate we could get rid of Cuadrado but I hope you understood the principal. If it is true about the £21m versus the release of £58m then you understand 'wheeler dealing' kicks until there is either no more give and no thank you or we have a deal he says looking up to the heavens!

Its not going to happen, we may get stones at 36m but forget anyone else, maybe a youth player to loan out but apart from stones. were done

Any interest in verrati from psg or draxler @ shalke?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

18 Aug 2015 08:10:17
Verrati would be a great signing. Ed002 said on real Madrid page that isco is available, I think we should definitely try to sign isco and if not gotze who looks like he might be available as well. If necessary a new cb can wait as hopefully baba will start pushing dave to rb which means if necessary we could play ivanovic at cb.

There's interes in Verrati from Real Madrid(PSG asking price is a problem).
Juventus is interested in Draxler.

I would love Verratti but I think there would be a lot of competition if he was available. Isco would be our David Silva but I don't think he's Mourinho's type of player unfortunately (see Mata!).

Totally agree about Veratti, if he is available we should be all over that. He is a proper little midfield general, especially as he is young, he is great battler and leads by example, and another player everyone hates unless he plays for your club. I know it appears roman is willing to open the purse strings I hope griesman(prob spelt wrong) could be bought. Add stones and it would be all good.
I am sorry spearce96, but why would we move the worst player on the pitch for the last two games to cb. I have always been a big fan of ivanovic, but his days are numbered I feel this will be his last season and only as a squad player. The reason being both games we have been totally exposed on that side of the pitch. Move Dave to rb, baba lb and if stones arrives phase him and zouma to cb by end of season. We have to prepare for life without jt. Plus that will give us real pace at the back.

Andrew I know bi hasn't been playing well but don't think he will be leaving. With jt, cahil and zouma I think having bi as cover when he won't need to do so much running should be OK and the other areas are much more pressing (cm and rw)

Verratti would fit in perfectly with us. Both in style and in terms of being hated. Everybody likes to hate Chelsea and a lot of people can't stand Verratti. Seems like a match made in heaven :)

I think we need English players, that's why the prem is lacking soul, the world comes here for money. Look how well they play for their national teams and rubbish for their clubs, and the exact opposite with English players, great for their clubs rubbish for England
