ed002 you don't seem to be prepared to comment on at the moment, do you reckon you will be able to give us a clue as to who chelsea will sign before they are in stamford bridge holding a scarf above their head with a big expensive smile on their face. {Ed002's Note - What I cannot comment on is who will actually arrive. We all know where the interest lies but I do not have second sight - and neither does anyone at Chelsea.}

Ed, kaka has come out and said he wants to stay at Madrid and not move. When players come out and say that does it really matter? Do they just say that to make people happy and keep the press off of them. {Ed002's Note - It does not mean a lot and is normally said in response to a loaded question from a member of the press.}

Chelsea to sign Gregory Van Der Weil, Javier Pastore, Willian, Neymar and Aguero.

New starting XI

. . . . . Cech. . . . . . .

VDV. Luiz. Terry. Cole

Ramires. Essien. Pastore

Aguero. Torres. Neymar

Seems believable Ed? {Ed002's Note - I try and avoid commenting on teams. Perhaps it is believable in places.}

Always read the Chelsea page as it's always crazy. Ed002 your quality. The sarcasm is so funny. U tear the football manager transfer lovers apart with style. Never posted before but I would love to see neymar and Sanchez in the blue next season.

The foolish one.

Hey ed which players do you think will join chelsea in the transfer window? {Ed002's Note - Sorry I am not going to speculate. It would be wrong at this juncture.}

Ok Ed, let's rephrase. Could you Please speculate which players will join on the transfer window based on any accurate RUMOURS?

{Ed002's Note - Rephrasing it does not help. Chelsea are interested in a number of players all of which are discussed on these pages to one extent or another. Figuring out which will arrive is not possible - nobody knows. So speculation is pointless at this time.}

There is only one man for the job an that's Jose mourinho.He craves success, brings success and would sort the mess out at the bridge.roman needs to sit back and stop buying the players, let the manager do his job/pick transfer targets and only then can he be judged.In a way I feel sorry for Carlo as he shoulders the blame for Romans mistakes(letting 5/6 players go and bringing in 2).Carlo was and still is a quality manager, roman is making him look a joke.His record as a player and manager speaks for it's self.I think we need at least 4 fresh top quality players that are ready for first team football.Plus if we let 3/4 go then we maybe need to look for replacements for them also other wise we going backwards.When Jose was manager you felt as though we were unbeatable, we need that back.But after all this I don't think Carlo has and is doing a bad job.we had a massive blip and a run of bad results lasting about 8 games.That blip comes around every 20 years.If we never had it we would have won the league two months ago.If mourinho doesn't want the job then back Carlo, let him pick his targets and if he fails, only then can he be held accountable

ED002 listening to guillem on revista he said that man city united and liverpool have spoke to juan mata's father no mention of chelsea?

BLUEBLOOD {Ed002's Note - Right. Chelsea have no interest in Juan Mata's father - just his son. I cannot justify anything Balague says or not and it is unfair to ask me to do so.}

Got to love your sarcasm ED002! Anyway Balague also said if barca don't secure cesc fabregas for 30-35 million they will look elsewhere, which may lead to city and chelsea may having an interest in the player, If he does not move to barca this year and chelsea miss out on a central midfield target may we have a look at cesc in your view?

{Ed002's Note - Zero chance.}

Fresh from taking down West Ham; and now available, is it true Ed that Avram Grant is possibly Chelsea bound as a Director of football, and is this one of our 'dependencies'? I hope not. . . . {Ed002's Note - Not a dependency but he may take a role somewhere, if only for a short-term. Chelsea have a longer term plan for the "management" side of the club which has been screwed up somewhat. Add to that, I am not even convinced that there will be a Director of Football for next season.}

OK. So, it may be possible that we will have a manager who doesn't care for a Director of Football and craves autonomy. . who may also be Portuguese and a bit 'familiar'?

Hey Ed, have Chelsea dropped their interest in Romelu Lukaku, because he said that he may end up staying in Anderlect for years to come. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have had no interest for months. As I have explained before there was interest from Chelsea, Spurs, Real Madrid, Juventus, Barcelona, Liverpool, Arsenal, Ajax and AC Milan. Anderlecht priced him at €30M and there was no more interest. His agent is desparate to broker a deal but Chelsea will need to see a much, much lower fee for an unproven kid who has raw talent but may not work out in the EPL.}

Chelsea FC top transfer targets

RB: Gregory Van Der Weil
CAM: Paulo Henrique Lima aka Ganso
RW: Alexis Sanchez
FW: Neymar and Sergio Aguero

Am I correct Editor. {Ed002's Note - No, you need to forget the concept of "top transfer targets". Options are being looked at, that is all. There is no priority list.}

Hey Ed, I know Chelsea are looking to buy a new right winger to balance both sides of the team with Malouda on the left. But now they have turned their attention to Juan Mata who's a pure left forward or left winger so my question is Mata being sought after because both Malouda and Zhirkov might be leaving or as an alternative to Sergio Aguero?

{Ed002's Note - Nothing to do with Aguero. Malouda is not expected to leave but Zhirkov will be leaving in all probability. The interest on the right has been mainly directed toward Willian who doesn't in my view give much if anything more than Kakuta. mata we will have to wait and see about. Valencia may be preparing for life after Mata by lining up Elia as a replacement. Although there is some interest from Liverpool and it would not be entirely out of the question that the club could move for the player, I suspect he may end up elsewhere with interest being shown by Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and I suspect Barcelona will become interested at some point. If Barcelona do show their hand I expect he could move there, if not Chelsea are heading the queue.}

Hey ed, I have a few questions regarding possible signings and rumours i've heard. But first, I would like to ask you to reconsider your decision to step down from your position, as I find this the best rumours site there is. Sky sports is not updated often enough and caughtoffside is useless. Anyway back to my questions:
1. Are we going to try and sign Hector Bellerin, the barcelona youngster who looks set to sign for arsenal?
2. Are we in negotiations to sign sanchez, as his representatives are in England and doesn't want to be a benchwarmer at city? He would only cost us £35 million and his wage demands wouldn't be too great.
3. Do all of our signings depend on whether or not neymar comes, as it seems that we are just waiting for his deal to be concluded before moving for anyone else, which looks set to drag on given that he's recently become a father.
4. Are we still interested in ganso, pastore and pato?
5. To your knowledge, has ancelotti identified anyone he needs for next year or is he sticking to his mantra of us having sufficient squad depth?
6. Will we make a move for aguero? I have indeed read that his wage demands are too great but surely if we move to earls court or expand our stadium, we would be able to afford that and it seems unlikely that he would go to juventus, as they can't offer him CL football.
Thanks for your time. If you cba to write out a full answer, one word responses shall suffice.

{Ed002's Note - (1) There is no particular effort at this time. An offer was made and rejected a while ago. (2) No - see previous answer about Sanchez status. (3) No. (4) Possibly, Possibly, I don't think so. (5) IT is nothing to do with Ancelotti. (6) An effort (failed) has already been made by Chelsea and Manchester United to satify the needs of Aguero. Juventus have been in talks and Real madrid and possibly Manchester City have an interest. We will have to wait and see.}

{Ed002's Note - Efforts are being made to figure out if the Neymar deal is on or off.

Iz it true ed that an agreement is in place for him to come with santos and now it is in the players hands ?

I do believe that all the rumours should be put to bed, until the managerial situation for next year is cleared at the Bridge.

That may not affect the widely known targets such as van der Wiel or Neymar, but the rest has so many ifs, that there's no point in speculating.

{Ed002's Note - Efforts are being made to figure out if the Neymar deal is on or off. The managerial situation will have little impact on the plans for the summer.}

I won't be putting words into mouth, but with Arnesen all but gone, there must be people with a plan at the club how to overhaul the squad. With the disastrous dealings of last summer and bizarre spending in January, that ain't much convincing ED, is it?

{Ed002's Note - There are folks working on transfers, don't worry.}

{Ed002's Note - Willian was seen as an alternative to Sanchez originally rather than Mata. Willian would be a cheap solution for the right hand side, but I am not sure he gives any more than Kakuta does. Again, he may be one for the future, and Arsenal are also interested, I would not worry about not getting him. I would stick with Kakuta who is reasonably similar.}

Ooh right so is sanchez totally our of question now then? Man city reported 30 mil bid is being considered isn't it? Also is a move for Benzema viable if aguero moves to madrid?

{Ed002's Note - The Sanchez situation remains as before. There is no interest in benzema. I will try and explain what I know to be correct and what is “rumoured” about Alexis Sanchez. We know that Chelsea and Inter Milan have made unsuccessful bids, and we know that Manchester United and Barcelona have a declared interest. Juventus had previously been interested but were hoping that (a) Sanchez stayed under the radar until a deal could be struck, and (b) Udinese would look kindly on an arrangement that included some cash and several players either in exchange, on loan or in part-ownership as part of the deal. As an aside Juventus have proposed a similar deal for Javier Pastore. Anyway, there was a January meeting with Chelsea in Monaco and broad agreement was reached over the transfer before Giampaolo Pozzo said that the deal must include a loan of the player back to Udinese. Whilst Barcelona were apparently willing to agree to this until the end of the season, Pozzo proposed that whoever Sanchez moved to should allow him to be loaned back for 18 months – hence the end of any discussions. I expect that Juventus will not come back in to the picture. Although Sanchez has been watched by numerous teams including Roma, there is nothing new other than Manchester City preparing a bid for the player as well. They have, like Juventus, recently been knocked back in a bid for Pastore and are likely to aim their cheque book in another direction – this may well be Sanchez. The advantage they have, in addition to being able to match any transfer fee, is the ability to put together a wage deal far beyond anything the other clubs could afford or would be willing to pay. I suspect that we will see this whole saga drag out through the summer transfer window as Pozzo puts the player on the market, takes him off the market, values him at €100M and so on. Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and Inter will all likely remain interested but could well tire of the expected drawn-out negotiations. Manchester United and Chelsea were both originally wary of the player being not quite as robust as needs be for the EPL. Perhaps Inter will get their man or perhaps Sanchez will take an offer from Manchester City or respond positively to reported interest from the nice folks at Real Madrid.}

ED002, with the home grown rule in effect do you think we will be looking for domestic players also, or just try to fill up the ranks with our academy kids (mcE, Aanholt, Bruma, etc)? {Ed002's Note - The rule is the other way around. There are a maximum of 17 non home grown players. Bruma may go to Hamburg on loan.}

May i ask do you think Chelsea will again try and maneuver a move for him know that he is willing to leave and try and find another way of sorting his wage package out.

Also Is Willian a realistic target not seen much of him in all honesty!?

BLUEBLOOD

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea, like Manchester United have failed to put together an acceptable package. I suspect only Manchester City, a Turkish or Russian team would be willing to pay what he wants. Options at present are really only Juventus or Real Madrid. So we wait to see what changes.}

we require a balance selection of players. the problem we had in the past was, we bought players irrespective of their position.
just big names are not gonna fill our blanks.
the players we need are:
striker: 1 (better if aguero)
left-winger: 1 (willian is enough)
attacking mid: 1 (neymar)
right-defense: 1 (van der weil)

out:
anelka (please sell)
kolou (please sell)
ferreira (please sell)
bosingwa (please sell)
zhirkov (please sell if you are not letting him play)
mikel (please sell)

what do you think ED ? {Ed002's Note - The outbound players look possible, plus some youngsters - Cork, probably Mancienne.}

Ed why does chelsea go for old players who are past their prime and pay humungous wages for them???

Ballack, Belletti and Deco were such players and now we are being linked with KAKA. . .

Dont you think chelsea should change their transfer policy??

chelsea already have enough experienced players, so why not go for a few young guns like Man United??
