ed, do you have anything you can share on the future of the midfield areas? You mention Obi, Lampard, McEachran, Romeu will likely all leave - that produces at least two very immediate squad positions for next season. Obviously Van Ginkel has a future, but am I right in thinking he be found a loan move?
Finally, are there any plans to move Ramires on?

Sorry, not very specific questions but it seems as if we could be shopping for more than one midfielder.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - McEachran has only ever played a handful of games and none in the more than two years since he went out on loan. Romeu has been out on loan this season. Obi will move on but Matic has already arrived. There is no plan to loan out van Ginkel at this time - and he was seen as someone to cover and potentially replace Lampard who is older than dirt. There is no plan for Ramires to leave but there may be further interest in him come the summer. And Cheslea are looking to add a midfield player. You are seeing issues where there aren't any.}

Fair enough

Agree0 Disagree0

Any chance of letting us know which midfielders we are looking at ed002? I know Imbula and Gundogan have been looked at in the past but who else?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Imbula is the player Chelsea want.}

Afternoon ED002 was just curious if you could provide us with any more information on the Lukaku situation I understand you don't want to get into details but has there been any change in the situation or as it stands should we still expect to see him move on?

Also when you have time would you mind putting a list together of players you expect or potentially could be on there way out this summer if its not to much trouble thanks has always.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - There has been no change and efforts are being made by the ex-player who does his liaison to smooth things over. As for those probably leaving, off the top of my head, Marin, Cole, John Obi, Kakuta, Eto'o, Torres, Ba. Probably Lampard. Oriol Romeu wants to leave but has had injury issues (he returned to Spain last week after being in Cobham recovering). Hutchinson, Moses and McEachran will all likely leave. Bertrand, Davila and Jhon Pirez perhaps.}

Ok thanks, That is quite a list big clear we could be looking at 30 mil and a huge reduction on the wage bill would defiantly make the way for a couple of big names to fill the void.

Is the Club still hoping to bring in 2 of Costa, Cavani, Falcao? anything new worth mentioning on the striker front at all?

Thanks again enjoy the rest of your week.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - And you can, at least for now, add Lukaku to that list. The club would still like 2 of the 3.}

Sorry to bother you ed but you're saying the club would like to add 2 out of Cavani, costa and Falcao. I understand we have poor strikers but do you think Mourinho may be thinking of playing a 2 striker system? Because say if we signed Cavani and costa I could hardly see one of them being happy sitting on the bench even with rotation. I just can't see that happening my first choice would be Cavani or costa with a back up of possibly huntelaar or Mandzukic.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea about the tactics that would be used.}

Could you also add Schwarzer, Hilario and Hutchinson to the list aswell ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Why would you want Hutchinson on the list twice?}

Hello Ed. Are Chelsea interested/have shown an interest in the following players:
a) William Carvalho
b) Fernando of Porto
c) Roberto Firmino

?

Thanks for the insight. Cheerio.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - (a) Chelsea did look at Carvalho but the suggested price is well beyond what the club would be will to pay. (b) Not for a couple of years. Fernando has recently become a Portuguese citizen and is desperately looking to force his way in to either national side in time for the World Cup. Whilst a move to Italy where Napoli, Inter and Fiorentina remain keen was possible as he was due to be out of contract in the summer, the signing on fee asked of Fiorentina came as a real shock to them and Inter dropped their interest when also made aware of the fee. A number of other clubs have declared an interest and certainly Everton is one but I really don't know of confirmed interest from Liverpool - but it would make some sense. He has agreed a new contract with Porto but could still move on in the summer, particularly if he does not make the World Cup. (c) There is no declared interest in Firmino at this time from Chelsea.}

Are we interested in Mandzukic ed?

Believable1 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - Mandzukic is nowhere near the top of desired strikers.}

Cheers Ed. I'm gathering that list consists of the usual suspects - Costa, Cavani, Falcao & Higuain. Anyone new to add to that list?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I would not include Higuain. Martinez remains in the thoughts of some and whilst certain parties at Chelsea would like to make a move for the player, someone very influential remains unconvinced.}
