Hi ed have you heard anything about us looking to buy Luis Gustavo if Mikel gets sold. Cheers. {Ed018's Note - I have not heard that}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Don't want to bombard you with questions ed, but do you still believe De Rossi is a possibility? I hope so but after Mourinho said no more targets the chances look slimmer. {Ed018's Note - I still think there is a good chance}

Agree0 Disagree2

Gustavo should be looked at as a priority. He was extremely effective for Brazil and the confederations cup and indeed for Bayern thorough out the first half of last season. Furthermore he is younger, cheaper and better ball player than De Rossi. I think that a high intensity, commanding and creative all Brazilian midfield of Gustavo, Ramirez and Oscar would play both attractive football and provide a foundation for a long awaited pressing game at chelsea.

Ed0018, forgetting the ridiculous cash + player offer the papers are reporting, do you know if any bid of any description was made to united for Rooney? {Ed018's Note - Chelsea confirmed the bid but no players are included in a swap}ld

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Ed, has an improved offer been made for Rooney?

Ed Woodward flying home to deal with "urgent transfer business" seems to suggest this, but it could be something else entirely.

Thorne {Ed018's Note - I don't know but I'd expect another offer at some point}

Agree2 Disagree3

I've heard it could be about them getting Fabregas.

Agree4 Disagree3

Ed why would they try and keep an unhappy player it's quite simple and clear that he doesn't want to be there.

Agree2 Disagree3

No it'll be Ezequiel Garay

Agree4 Disagree4

It's Garay for £17m.

Only bid that may come for Matais from Real Madrid and it might include DiMaria plus cash. RM will not pay 80m for Bale, so Mata might be their target. Which doesn't mean Chelsea will sell him.

Believable2 Unbelievable14

I do have to ask myself how you know this rubbish. Do you actually believe the tosh u read in the media/online? You don't know Real won't pay 80m, you also don't know the only bid coming in for Mata is from Real.

Agree9 Disagree2

You didn't understand. RM is the only team that Mata would move to. Bale isn't going to RM since they haven't made any bid, if youdidn't notice RM goes for their prime target before July at leastthey did it for last5 years. You don't really believe Mata would sign for MU, or Barcelona.

Agree2 Disagree10

The thing is you make your own assumptions based on the media, which is all rubbish anyway. You don't know Mata would only move to Madrid, are you in his inner circle? It's a possible outcome one day but you claiming you know this and that makes you look a tad silly.

Agree3 Disagree3

Are you Mata? How do you know what clubs he would join?

Zak

I think "ness" needs to stop posting rubbish! His speculation is ridiculous half the time!

'tv' suggesting that we have offered £10 mill plus either Mata or Luiz for Rooney?! Say it ain't so.

Tim

Believable1 Unbelievable10

No matter what happen's in Jose we trust!

Lets just hope it is media BS, if it is true it's a joke.

Agree7 Disagree1

Why would we get rid of are best player in Mata!

Agree8 Disagree1

The original article said £10mill + a player, thought to be Mata or Luiz.

Bit of a vague comment - "thought to be". Who thought it to be that? If the Daily Mail had a reliable source they would have been able to say which player it was rather than just speculating and plucking 2 names out of the air.

I don't doubt a bid has been made, but I very much doubt Mata was not offered. For all we know it could have been £10mill + Torres

Agree4 Disagree1

United fan here

If that's true i'm over the moon! Rooneys just an overated overpayed fat scouse tramp and mata is world class!
You lads can't be happy with that deal surely?
Mancheste born and bred before you all say i'm not from Manchester!

Most ridiculous rumour I've EVER heard. Ed- can you confirm any of it? {Ed018's Note - seems a bit silly to me and I havent heard if there's any truth to it}

Agree6 Disagree1

Seems to be a classic case of really bad and lazy journalism, I wouldn't be surprised if we have not even made a bid.

Agree3 Disagree1

Somebody somewhere is taking the universal pee. Mata alone should be worth about £35-40m. On top of that, we offer another £10m, making Rooney's valuation around £50m?

Har-di-har-har

Agree4 Disagree1

Chelsea probably said £10 million + a player and Manchester United probably said ok, Mata or Luiz. And Chelsea probably replied f. !

Agree2 Disagree2

Ed, with the club now confirming the bid, and also confirming then NO players are involved in a swap deal. Do you think we will make another increased bid? Or will united wait for a transfer request from Rooney?

Cheers

I concur its media BS. because chelsea must be bonkers to make such an offer and Manchester United double bonkers for not accepting
