Telegraph have an exclusive tomorrow, might be true or not true, that Pellegrini has started talks over a move to us in the summer. If Mourinho is leaving Madrid and doesn't have an agreement with PSG, it seems absolutely bonkers on the behalf of the club to not get Mourinho back and highlights the stubborness of the club to be aware of what the fans want.

Believable4 Unbelievable6

The fans aren't in charge.

Agree2 Disagree0

That has been made perfectly clear.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fantastic Pellegrini exactly how many trophies has he won with Real Madrid and Malaga?

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you ever thought it may just be a ploy, you don't just approach one Manager and say we want you! he will say give me X amount of money and you will have no option but to pay, but if you say we have him and him who is gona do it for X amount, so bring your demands down, it seems its a negotiation technique to me.
One Bomb Tom

Agree0 Disagree0

It would be ridiculous and unprofessional to only speak to one coach. Pellegrini is a top coach and would certainly mould an attractive attacking team, give youngsters a chance and owner permitting be here for a while, not just use us as a stop over to Manchester.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never put all your eggs in one basket.

Agree0 Disagree0

None of it is true as it is tapping up to talk to a manager who already has a contract before getting permission from the club. Everyday there is something reported about a player having an agreement to join the club etc but the only one I see as true is the schurlle case as it is all reports about a bid being made.

Whatever happened to the story of the 350 grand watch Roman supposedly bought for his mate Jose? I don't think fans should believe ANYTHING the desperate journo's come out with. Jose has said that his next job WILL be in the Premiership and that he IS leaving Real this summer. I would rather believe the statements from him direct than desperate sports journo's. I KNOW that his statements recently don't actaully name Chelsea but one can always hope!

Who are the Left-Backs Chelsea are interested in signing? {Ed002's Note - In the longer term Shaw.}

Surely we'll get Shaw and Schurlle. Saw what I did there?

We've got Bertrand who has shown some good moments this year. If Shaw comes in I think Bertrand would move into a attacking position/role in the team but would rarely play.

I've seen a lot of people stating that a new DM is a priority for the summer with a lot of names mentioned from Fernando to Lars Bender etc. I think its quite easy to forget about Romeu.

I recently read an article that showed the stats of Romeu alongside those of David Luiz, Ramires, Mikel and Lampard - all of whom have been the main players in the two deeper positions. They took tackling, assists, pass completion, pass interceptions etc. all into consideration and the stand out player in most categories was Romeu followed by Ramires; David Luiz and Mikel were generally in the middle and, other than goals, Lampard was at the bottom of every list.

Knee injuries such as that suffered by Romeu can be troublesome to return from, just look at Essien - although he is older, but Romeu will be back in training by the summer and should be assessed by the new coaching staff before a new signing is considered.

Believable12 Unbelievable0

If stats were everything transfers and team selection would be very easy

Agree0 Disagree0

He has hardly played, no wonder his stats are so good. I used to box, 1 fight, 1 win, says it all really!
Lol

Luke

Agree0 Disagree0

He's definitely good. We will need reinforcement though because Lampard will be gone.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've seen some good stats from romeu a lot better than mikel so get rid of obi as he has been terrible since he came here. One good game a month ain't good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Romeu is quality, I can't wait to see him back, and hope barca don't take him back!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Romeu has played 12 games this season - 9 starts, 3 sub appearances. It's not like he only played one game.

Yeah stats don't tell the whole story but the bottom line is he was impressive when he got injured. There is a reason Barca put that clause in his contract - they knew the quality is there!

Hi ed
I am a regular reader and I see constant speculation about attacking midfielders and strikers. That is all good and well but it appears to me we have a major problem in defence. We have one decent centre back and that's Gary Cahill. Jt has been a great servant but he is not upto it. Luis is so indisciplined and lacks positional sense and ivanovic also is not upto it. Are we in the market for a centre back and also a defensive midfielder. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea retains an interest in Dede as a CB. Romeu is to return from injury and players from loan so I would not expect much effort regarding a DM right now.}

Believable1 Unbelievable6

You obviously didn't watch tonight - Luiz was man of the match - discipline and flair! agree another CB is needed though

Agree0 Disagree0

What do you watch? Gary Cahill & Ivanovic are both ball watchers. players run in behind these 2 with ease time and time again. Gary Cahill is a good sub but you're right we definitely need another centre half

Is there any interest from Chelsea in Luis Muriel?

RSM {Ed002's Note - No, but whilst he has signed a new long term contract at Udinese, there is still interest being shown by Juventus, Napoli and Monaco.}

Schurrle has agreed personal terms. I think that this could be a great signing if we just look at it as a replacement for yossi benayoun. we can't just rely on mata and hazard every game. we can go mata-hazard-oscar one game then schurrle-marin-moses the next. he will also work a lot harder than any of our attacking players we have now. he can play up top but we still need another striker to come in if torres leaves. then we have (new striker), ba, lukaku and schurrle if we need him. look on the bright side, he's a really good player so stop complaining before you have ssen him play.

Believable10 Unbelievable3

If we keep ba I don't think lukaku is necessary. We primarily play with 1 striker and we would have 2 players who only play striker plus schurle who can play there as well making 3 guys for one position which is sufficient.

I'd be a good signing if you just look at it as a replacement for Benayoun!

Hi eds just heard that Manchester United have placed a payment down in ref to falcao. does this mean that chelsea have cooled their interest in falcao {Ed002's Note - They have not paid anything for Falcao.}

hey ed are chelsea interested in any playmakers to bring in this summer transfer window? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what a "playmaker" is to be honest.}

Shurrle is good, Reus is better and Gotze is better than both of them. Ed, will either Reus or Gotze be available this summer and if so, would Chelsea be interested? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea, Juventus, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Arsenal showed an interest in Marco Reus before his return to Dortmund last year. Recent tentative approaches made by Chelsea and Manchester City have resulted in a "not for sale" response regardless of their being a release clause in his contract. Manchester City are likely to push again as Dortmund are looking to Dzeko as a replacement for Lewandowski and will look to ease a deal through by offering favourable terms on the transfer or a contribution to his salary, but Reus is keen to stay where he is for now.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona were previously knocked back by his club although Goetze has identified his favourite teams as Barcelona and Arsenal. There has also been interest also from Real Madrid, Juventus and AC Milan - who I suspected were shifting their interest in previous interest in the likes of Ganso or Fernando to Goetze. I would expect Manchester United will look to the player again at some point but I rather doubt he will move this summer.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It puzzles me why Chelsea always go for the ''good'' option instead of ''the best'' fro a certain's nation talent pool, we're one of the top 5 clubs in the world, why would we settle for ''good''?

For example: Thiago Silva > Luiz
Lucas Moura > Oscar
Hernanes, Paulinho > Ramires
Isco > Mata
Gotze, Reus > Schurrle
Adryan > Piazon

Standing out is Hazard of course. I wonder what stats he would have if he was given the chance to play through the middle. Just remember what he was doing at the start of the season when Mata and Oscar had holidays when he was deployed in the no. 10 position. {Ed002's Note - You don't really understand the transfer process do you?}

Agree0 Disagree2

Ha ha this post is unbelievable obviously don't no anything about football or watch any football. Clueless.

Hi Ed. Reports this morning of an agreement with Dede. But conflicting reports of him staying in Brazil. Do you think we'll go all out to conclude a deal or go elsewhere? Any interest in Rami at Valencia? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea would like to sign Dede - "all out" or not. There is interest in Rami but not from Chelsea.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

More reports of a deal being tied up with Dede and Cruzeiro and that he'll have a medical this week. Know anything about that Ed? {Ed002's Note - I said before they have made an offer for part ownership.}

Ed do we still have an interest in Sergio Roberto of Barca {Ed002's Note - Yes but I would not expect anything to happen.}
