Acording to bayern on the summer deadline day chelsea had a £30million offer rejected for Mario Gomez
Do you see chelsea bidding again for him this jan ed? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Wait ed did we bid for Gomez? {Ed002's Note - There was an enquiry made at the end of August. Whether it was a bid or not is not something that is clear to me. We did discuss this at the time so there may be something in the archive.}

Ed who do you think is a priority for AVB in January, a striker, winger centre back, creative midfielder? {Ed002's Note - It doesn't work like that - they don't prioritise by position. Sorry.}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

So if your forwards and midfielders are playing well but the team are letting in goals, then obviously the defence is a priorty?? but if your defence is good and you cant score goals then a forward is your priorty?? how else can it work ed?? avb will be buying players to play in a position that he thinks is priorty, no goals? buy a goalscorer! leaking goals? buy a defender! {Ed002's Note - It really doesn't work like that.}

Agree0 Disagree0

So how does it work ed002? how does a manager buy a player? do they not prioritise the teams weakness and buy a player to make that posistion stronger? you cant tell me they buy players for a squad and then play them out of posistion to make a team? cheers ed parky {Ed002's Note - There are a number of targets to replace older players as part of the refresh started last year. Players are getting older and being replaced.}

Chelsea are making moves to sign Napoli hot-shot Edinson Cavani.
Cavani, 24, is rated one of the best strikers in Europe and showed his quality when he netted three goals in two games against Manchester City in the Champions League.
Reports in Italian newspaper Tuttosport claim that Chelsea have made contact with the agent of the Uruguay striker and want to clinch his signature in January.
With Nicolas Anelka making a move to Shanghai Shenhua and Didier Drogba away at the African Cup of Nations, Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas will be short of attacking options.
Sources at Napoli say the club are desperate to keep Cavani but they would consider offers in the region of £50m.

So what are your thoughts on this ed?
Would chelsea be prepared to pay that amount?

FJB20Chelsea {Ed002's Note - I have previously explained Chelsea's interest in Cavani. So I have no thoughts on it I am afraid.}

Like the previous poster, I've heard from my sources that Malaga have shown an interest in taking Torres back to Spain... Newly cash rich, Malaga believe that Torres is exactly the sort of big name signing they need to lift their project off the ground...

Hi ed any truth in the article from today's sun stating Drogba wants out in January? Cheers {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what it says. The situation with Drogba remains the same in that he has been offered a one year deal by Chelsea and he would like a two year deal. For me, he should sign the one year deal and if in a years time he is playing well and both parties agree perhaps he could sign another one year deal.}

Hi ed is there any other clubs that you know of interested in higuian and would he be happy to join Chelsea {Ed002's Note - I obviously don't know anything about Higuain's level of happiness. I suspect other clubs may be interested, but we will have to wait and see.}

Hey Ed, just an idea but do you think Chelsea would consider trading Torres for higuain plus some extra money? I saw in an earlier post that Madrid were looking at him. And thank you for all the hard work you put into this site. Happy holidays ! {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid will not be interested in taking Torres.}
