Hey Ed018, do you know if Chelsea has any interest in Nabil Fekir?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - no I've never heard of any interest in him from Chelsea}

I think he just signed a new deal at Lyon.

Hi eds
Do u think that the city result will make us pursuing an attacking player more likely and I was wondering whether we were going to put in another bid for stones now or not.
Thanks in advance and great work on the page

{Ed018's Note - nothing has changed. They want another attacking player and Stones may have to wait}

Call me fickle but I really want Griezmann now :-P

{Ed018's Note - we all have all summer. He's a player that improves our team and that's what we need}

I don't think there's much out there to buy is there? Not someone who we will pay big bucks for. Unless we don't sign Stones and leave that to next summer. But think that's where our weakness lies. Terry and Cahill too slow. Also can someone tell me why we don't have any one on the posts for corners? Whose idea is that? I'm hoping Baba now means Cesar will move over to the right replacing the ageing and awful desicion making Ivanovic. Think this could be a tough season for us (again). Squad needed a bit of jigging around but we haven't seen it and think it will cost us. Yes I know we are early in the season but still, we haven't the players in depth good enough like we have done in previous seasons. Oh well, on to the next game. UTC

By wait do you mean like next summer for stones. I would be worried about his price rising but I feel a cb of his age is going to be worth over 35 million next summer

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - yea}

Think we need a player who can put the ball in the net who plays rw as well as a partner for matic for the tough games where I just don't think fabregas works.

But let's be honest here. What has Stones done in the game to warrant anywhere near a fee of £30m +? Same as when United paid £27m for Luke Shaw. He's hardly set the world alight and I still think Bertrand is better then Shaw. We do need a goal scoring winger. But also someone whose willing to put a shift in defensively too. Especially the way Ivanovic has started the season. Think Terry getting pulled yesterday was just to prove a point to the board. With what 2 weeks left of the market left to go. I can't see us getting our 1st choice targets of Stones and Griezmann. Maybe Rudiger and another "Salah". Really hoping we shift a few on too. Cuardrado, Marin, Moses. They won't play so why can't we get a few quid in for them also?

How much did David Luiz go for again, let's be hones here shall we.

Stones is worth what we want for him as you showed with Luiz, Stones is the best young CB (and prospect) in British football, if you actually watched him play instead of just moaning about money then you would see how good he is going to be

Was Luke Shaw worth 27 million, no nay never, they paid it though, if Luiz was worth 35 million then you need to go above that for Stones, If Lukaku was worth 28 million then you see where I am going here, thing is though that Stones is actually worth the money, I hope he stays with us as his price will be a world record for a defender next year, that's if our board stick to their guns but you know the score mate, money talks and you guys have it by the lorry load

David Luiz has played and performed at World Cups, Champions League Finals, plus lots more. That's why he went for big money. Not the best defender by a lonnnng way but still all that counts towards the fee paid by PSG. Stones has what 2 seasons under his belt. It's all down to the fact that he's English and therefore expensive. Not saying over-rated but expensive for a player of his current standing. Potential = who knows. It's up to himself and the club he plays for to help him fulfil that. You can't tell me Sterling is worth anywhere near the £49m City paid for him.

Money does talk, but we don't have unlimited funds. Roman wanted to sell Stamford Bridge but the CPO said no, meaning some of the transfer kitty had to be used to go towards the building application for the upgrade. Plus you have FFP to think about. I can't get my head around how City, Manchester United can go out and spend all this money. I thought there was supposed to be a cap of some sort.

David Luiz was useless in defence but I thought he at times was outstanding when played in midfield. If I'm being honest he'd probably slot in nicely right now next to matic.

NWBLUE.

Useless in defence? Not sure about that. He had some big performances in BIG games. Champions League Final if I remember correctly! Yes he often went walk-about or lack of concentration but on his day he was still a very good defender. World class no. Very good yes. Worth £50m no way.

Stones. No champions league experience, no big game experience, no international tournament experience. Worth £34m No way. All based on potential his worth. Will he ever reach his max potential - who knows? Look what happened when we went for Phil Jones at Blackburn. He went to United and has never once looked like a world class or even becoming a world class centre back. Yet he was supposed to be the "next John Terry" lol.

Ed, any truth in us going after Higuain? Can't see it myself. Any news on potential incomings. What's the hold up with Baba?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed018's Note - Baba will be done soon. Higuain I'm not sure about. I was told yesterday they would still like to bring in another attacking player}

Gotze please.

Naïve I maybe getting as I get older but I still have an inkling for Griezmann. We have a good relationship with AM and I know they have increased his buy out with no contract extension but I think there may be still something in it for us. Mario Gotze's biggest problem is his habit of falling out with people.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed018's Note - I would not rule out another move for Griezmann. We will have to wait and see}
